It is pretty cool, but a dps multiplier is only good if you do any damage in the first place. Best thing about it is her tail swishes faster

Mountain is good for early rushes, while charger vanguards excel in slower ones + having DP regen capabilities. Although, this does not matter because flagpipe is objectively better.
Also Mountain is big so that's another point for him.

Reed's mixed damage and higher DP gain during skill was a fun gameplay niche. The only vanguard with resist as well. Issue is they killed it when they made all other chargers always generate 2 DP instead of just during skills. They could've either not done that, or made her base module say, 'Double all DP generated' or 'Double all DP generated during skill'. 1st one woulda been able to be dropped on other vanguards and kept them the same, so it'd have been a module that can work on all vanguards without feeling specially made for her, and it would facilitate her niche with +4 DP during skill two. Second one woulda simply felt more fitting to her, but been weaker and also felt like it catered too much to her.
And then the module upgrade didn't buff her resist by 5/5 or 10/5, so at only 20, she doesn''t have enough to really make her feel like an anti-magic duelist. Great gameplay concept, but instead of facilitating and solidifying it with the modules, they powercrept her with them. Real shame.
I prefer charger vanguards..... Only cause I don't have mountain but if I did I would still prefer the funny one block people

Have you asked yourself, how are the other Brawlers feeling? There is Mountain, and then there are the "Other Brawlers" who seem to be completely different category, that should be called: "utterly pointless waste of space".
I have this feeling, that even Frostleaf and Artificers (Roberta), see more meaningful use in combat than "the other brawlers".

The reason why Reed got second place isn't because people can't read. It's actually because she's superior to Vigna.
her reputation is trash for basically no reason - she out damages vigna against sub-1000 DEF targets (800 DEF with 25 RES), which the vast majority of low and medium threat enemies fall into, *and* 1500+ DEF enemies, while providing double the DP generation. Vigna is only better in a narrow window of 1000-1500 DEF or very high RES (most high RES enemies also have low DEF and Reed wins anyway), is more likely to leak trash with her slow interval and wasted ATK, and is generally less tanky in every way. I don't think she or vigna is the best charger (Wild Mane actually offers unique utility with good damage and DP gen early) but if people are saying vigna is the best, then they are really saying that Reed is the best and don't know it
I guess people are extremely hyperfixated on cost-efficiency and forget that Vigna isn't actually *that* strong. there's a lot of weird memes like this in the community where people are just flat out wrong about operator performance
probably because vigna is less costly than reed to build, so people starts to reccomend her more to newbies, which in turn makes people think shes stronger

I'm pretty sure this isn't true when they're at the same level of investment, Vigna on AVERAGE will do more damage than Reed due to her crit mechanic : 300% atk boost, dealing 600%, 30% of the time, even with the 50% slower attack speed that is significantly more on average AND can help pierce through high def enemies.
What really gives Reed value is that she offers more consistency and DP generation, while Vigna offers better utility against higher defense enemies at the start of the round. People do overstate how bad Reed is and do overrate how good Vigna is but to say Reed is better is always better is cope, there are situations to use both, but Vigna's low cost and hard to find niche in the early game makes her way more worth building for the majority of players
Yeah, I do think that is the case in the last paragraph. I got all 3 Abjurer and put genuine time into playing with them. After awhile I figured that no, none of them including Tsukinogi is nearly as bad as people make them out to be. They are just designed in a way to encourage a playstyle that most players don’t care about, and is more for dealing with fodder enemies.
@@echigokurogane8612 tbf with Tsukinogi, the reason she was marked as garbage is because first impressions are EVERYTHING. when abjurers were added, she just offered the shelter and reveal invisibility effect, and was still mediocre at damage and with no slow; so she paled in comparison to Elysium for revealing invisible enemies and slowing, and was weaker than Scene for the purpose of dealing with invisible enemies. now that they heal on ability activation, abjurers, and by extension Tsukinogi, are starting at the minimum line of "actively will do *something* instead of nothing"
@@bumibomber vigna's talent isn't multiplicative, it's additive. so she deals 4.1x damage on crit, not 6x. If they're both E2 60, mod 1, M3, reed still outdamages vigna until ~770 DEF.

Yeah, if you got every operator developed, then you probably can have a sole combination of absolutely best minmaxed operators. Which is both a pretty priviled position to be in this game about getting operators randomly and a very boring one. Reed's arts damage / resistance combo with a full refund is situational as all hell, but finding such situation and pulling it off is more enjoyable than clearing 10 levels with the same minmaxed meta team.

I have all the charger at E2, because they’re funny to use lol. On the serious note, i just use them as a makeshift helidrop that doesn’t cost DP(that much) after they are done with their job. Sure i can use flagpipe, but i got kinda bored with it, thankfully Cantabile came in bringin something new for vanguards.

Jokes aside, i did play arknights solely because i discovered mountain's existence and i want him to destroy me with his mega fat co- but while i was on my first steps in this game i already fell in love with vigna and absolutely raised her and became my very first favorite arknights operator (good personality, she rocks, good dps, RIP AND TEAR) before i got mountain

Charger vanguards are fun frfr, i love using Mountain but i also like putting Vigna and Wild Mane into the team. Vigna hits hard and is cheap to deploy, and if you buff her its even better (Aak S3 go brrr). Wild Mane has funny push and her S1 shreds through trash mobs. 100% recommend using them.

I mean, charger vanguards are a pretty iffy archetype already. The limited DP gen alongside the 1 block makes them pretty bad to open stage when compared to pioneers. The reason people use dragon lady is merely because of the existence of flagbearers. Yes, her skills deal big PP damage, but it's usually better to drop a cornerstone unit than deploying her (you can still deploy her to help with early rush then retreat her after dealing with it since she's DP neutral especially with module).

The best decision in my Arknights life was not knowing that Plume exists. Due to my first six star being Bagpipe, I never bothered to E1 Plume, and... When i first encountered a stage with a really tight opening, I just used her E0lvl50 body to tank a few hits, refund her for the full cost and replace her with the "proper" 2-block vanguard. You already called her "free", but on E0 she costs 2DP less! You can't find such a cheap girl even on a roadside :)

Judging by the recent overinflation of unfamiliar Reed fans, and the slightly annoyed way he regarded us, I can only assume that my worst fears have become true and Reed is facing the same situation as Skadi and Mudrock with their corresponding fan bases.
However, as a man that had indeed written several novels regarding the “Reed vs Vigna” debate & “Why Reed is actually decent unit in a doomed subclass” long before it was cool, I will once again point out that that Reed is indeed superior to Vigna when it comes to fulfilling their subclass role which is “opening”, “presence”, and “temporary lane holding”.
The 3 main arguments which gacha addicts drop in favour of Vigna before quitting the conversation are:
A) Vigna has more overall *big number* against single enemy with ultra defence at same investment.
B) Vigna is lower rarity thus making her cheaper and easier to raise.
And C) Bagpipe exist.
My counter arguments for then are:
1st you are bringing hatchet to a cup cake, and then are attempting to use said hatchet against M1 Ebrams. Lancers generate DP per kill, most early enemies are cannofolders, Lancer struggle to kill efficiency enemies that are not cannofolders. HG gave the subclass a general module that increases the DP efficiency from killing said cannofolders. Vigna may have slightly better performance against Patriot, but she won't be fighting Patriot (fullstop).
2nd something called “Tempo” exists in this game which makes low ASPD pain in the arse as it usually causes leaks. Vigna isn't exactly amongst the majority of units with decent ASPD. In fact she is among the few units with ASPD problem as S2 trades off said ASPD for **big number,** which puts her in this awkward situation of either leaking cannofolder enemies that she obviously overkills with a single hit under normal circumstances, or having to M3/prefer the generic S1 over S2 in situations where you want to avoid early stage leaks when the tempo isn't optimal. Reed dosen't have this tempo problem as her general ASPD is pretty high, and S2 not only dosen't come without any penalties, but also improves the DP per kill efficiency making her actually perform better against crowd rushes.
3rd yes, Bagpipe does exist, and Vigna is indeed cheaper to fully max out, but do you know what? Reed dosen't have to be fully maxed out or even be E2 in order for her to be efficient, you simply rise her to the generic E1 lv60 S7 and she would still perform just as fine to be a stable foundation pillar till you finally get your own Bagpipe.
Vigna definitely isn't bad operator by any means, but she also isn't a sidegrade/better version of Reed as she dosen't come anywhere near Reed to begin with. The thing which started all those comparisons between the two to begin with is the question of “Total dmg” which beyond friggin stupid. Vigna dosen't need “total dmg” when she almost always leaks a group of tightly packed slugs, Reed dosen't need “total dmg” when she obviously wasn't intended for that either. One hits pretty hard solo enemies under the right setup, while the other efficiently wipes cannofolders and optimises early DP openings.
Now let's hope Eha reads this lol

But real talk, charger vanguards are pretty bad as an opener compared to pioneers. They excel more against early slow rushes so they can have time to generate DP and not leak at the same time. Not to mention they're DP neutral, which means you get your DP back after retreating them (which you'll always do after getting enough DP to deploy your entire squad) which is also boosted by charger modules. Mountain is good since he's as cheap as a vanguard and can deal with fast rushes + sustainability. Though your opener will be slower without other vanguards for DP.

Why do all these videos,like literally everysingle last one of them,always say "use so and so six/five/four star",without taking into account that there are players who do not have said six/five/four star or do have them but don't have the means to build them plus the 10 other six/five/four stars that were recommended to them at the same time?

Welfare only runs show up in various CZcams videos. You should look into them and build the ones you think you'll use based on your playstyle. So many welfares have funny and unique kits, and now that Absinthe is permanent you'll have half decent damaging ones too.
Many players who watch CZcams vids are AK veterans with lots of units, but for newer players you really should build up your 3 stars, especially when they usually have good base skills so the investment isn't wasted later in the game
