How I got into Berserk:
I was surfing SoundCloud and on random Tell me Why played. I tried to find the anime it was to think it’s from some slice of life. Little did I know after putting my grasses on, I found truly a legendary series

It sometimes has the weird misspelling, bad quality scans or the chapters are not in the right order, but it happens rarely and can be handled if you are familiar with the Golden Age Arc. If Manga Ace has Berserk, it probably has better EVERYTHING, but I didn't check it yet.

Well to be fair the question “how do I get into berserk” gets asked at least once a week on the berserk subreddit. And those who don’t ask for advice usually end up playing the 2016 version first.

Kissmanga is pretty good. They updated their scans with the original Dark Souls translations. But the last 3-4 chapters are from a shitty fanmade translation...if you want to read those, I suggest Mangastream (which is a "legal" site that only contains the last 4-5 chapters).
Not so easy because there are tons of people who never read the manga or read only few and are unwilling to get close to any manga, no matter how awesome it is. The video is a much more approachable medium so it's fine to start with the TV to get hooked. After that you are left with no choice heh

honestly i would recommend watching the 97 anime before you read the manga; the manga is obviously way better but I think **certain events** in the golden age arc are more impactful without the context the black swordsman gives you, plus it has a great ost

I feel like this is one of the few where people that might actually really like this, would be put off from it because of how grisly and dark the real beginning is. So i can kind of agree with you here.
Honestly the 97 anime was perfect in my opinion, I recommend it to anybody and I think it's one of the best ways to experience the golden age.

I mean, I read it in two nights after the news concerning Muira, listening to Gut's theme and just letting out all of that emotion. When the last chapter came out, I just cried. Thinking of reading it again, I could use the strength and solidarity I feel when I read it, that a struggler is more than their hardships and no matter how dark times get, you can continue to push on.

I've gotten into this franchise recently thanks to your help. Started the show and bought volume 1 of the manga
I started reading two days ago after watching the 97 anime and it's the first time I've wanted to read a series immediately after watching an adaptation since the anime left off on such a crazy cliffhanger. Within that time, I've read right up to the point when Guts gets the Dragonslayer, and noticed there's still 2 decades of material I have to go through. lmao
