It's funny to think that the Hiigarans might once have been what the Taiidan eventually became. It radically changes my perspective. Doesn't excuse the trigger-happy Emperor's panic move of course.
The Hiigarans found the 2nd core, built a warship around it and immediately jumped their fleet to the taiidan homeworld and glassed it. Then they got creamed by the Bentusi on behalf of the galactic council for their war crimes and the taiidan leader could only be persuaded from killing all Hiigarans if they went into exile. They stole back the 2nd core from their crashed flagship and hid it on the Kar-Toba.
Imagine being so terrified of a ship class that it's named after a god of pain. That thing is serious business. Though it doesn't look like it when it's spinning aimlessly in the background of a cutscene. As for that, given that we've only ever seen two ships, the fact that there were that many of them in that convoy is a bit chilling, particularly given that several of them were lost to system failure. That's a lot of lives.
I know right? Their ship designs are the most "human" in Homeworld-verse. Utilitarian, robust and more angular than its Kushan or Hiigaran counterparts.
I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Hmph. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I've watched C-Beams glitter in the dark near the Tenhauser Gate. All those... Moments... Will be lost... In time like... tears... In... Rain. Time. To die.
I really love the music that plays while the Taiidan are attacking the Bentusi. It's so serene sounding, like a musical representation of Bentusi general character and demeanor being twisted into slight dissonance. It almost sounds like desperation at times...but not because the Bentusi are desperate...the Taiidan are desperate for even engaging the Bentusi in this foolish attack, given their now desperate current situation and consequences for committing genocide. I love this game. HW3 soon...
Hey some background on the enemy ships! Do all of the enemy ships have code names given by the Kushan? Hope to hear about the other ships next time. Onward toward home.

i hope they make homeworld 3 campaign worthy of 1 and 2, the replay value of those games is immense
Agreed. I have faith BBI will knock it out of the park. DoK campaign was phenomenal.
They could make it worthy of 1, or worthy of 2, but not both. The canon is much different between the two.

I've always loved the Taiidan heavy cruiser design. So cool. A lot of the UNSC ships in the Halo franchise seem to take cues from it.
