I have the Pedersoli. Kentucky long rifle and when I bought it the black powder Gods said use dish soap and very hot water, to clean it. Now being in my 40's at a time and a experienced gun guy I said what????? 😬 But it's true. Thanks for the video it will help many new black powder rifle shooters.
Your welcome sir
Im in my 40's as well
Water is the only thing really necessary to clean a bp rifle
Thank you for the sub
Dawn dish soap and water works good on powder resedue and gets oil out..
Dont feel too bad about the screws, the heads can be re contoured and clean the rust off and grease it up. I squirrel hunted with mine this weekend using #6 shot rolled up in card stock 50gr charge like a 410 shell. Also used a 36 ball patched thick with 30gr of powder. I swab the barrel each day for 4 or 5 days to make sure no surface rust starts in the barrel. One of my favorite guns.
Thanks for the tip
I actually do brush my barrel as well for several days after wards i forgot to mention it though
Get some pipe cleaners to clean out the bolster and flash channel
You definitely know what your doing. Lol .I used to hunt deer with a mussel loader. Look d like a Remington I forget what it was called..wasn't traditional looking..✌️
there's a lot involved in using a black powder rifle. as I said, I did have one but it turned out to be too much work for me , so I sold it.
Your right. You gotta line to clean it and it can be a pain..I Wana get a percussion revolver... I like cleaning and playing with it... 😆
This is actually one thing i have never shot. Not even sure how these are loaded (maybe a video) 🙂

Alot of people worry about a brass brush damaging the rifling or scratch the bore but it's the rod not the brush ..good work...your right if there water based it's nothing serious..try dish soap and water I heard that works good
