I think Poseidon's scale compared to Queen Mary 2 is intentional, I believe that was cited as the reason the tsunami sank her: she was top-heavy and skinny, and so pretty easy to tip.
epiccc edit: I actually suggested that they should add a more movie-accurate sinking simulation on the Discord, and it will be added to the game!!! I did this bc [SPOILER] at the end of the film, the ship flips back up due to it's weight, and plunges down.
Happy February! Rogue waves in this game are the most annoying thing there: they are unnaturally large and powerful, and they can get you even when you're in port. Pretty cool that you did Poseidon and Mary together! Ironically, since the Poseidon in the 2006 movie was inspired by QM2, in the original novels published by Paul Gallico (and in the films that followed afterward), the ship was based on the original Queen Mary! Personally I prefer the latter over this version of Poseidon, as cool as that one is. The original is just that. That's where the Poseidon legend started. Not sure if the 2006 Poseidon really is a true liner as she is described, just based on how short her bow is alone. If she is, then she's a very poorly built one, as no liner of that size should be capsized by a 100 ft. wave period. QM2 is my third favorite liner of all time. She was actually launched a year after I was born, so I find it pretty cool in that she's a liner of my generation. Really hoping to travel on her someday. Nice video once again Jesse! (and the Mary was freaking out there bc you sunk her: shame on you XD)

As large and as powerful as a 150 ft wave is (I've since come to learn that's how large it was in the movie; such waves do in fact exist), going by physics alone, the Poseidon should've been able to survive by the skin of her teeth. The problem was with her width. When designing a ship, there are 3 key factors you must consider: length, width, and height. Too long, you break apart. Too wide, bad ride. Too tall, you capsize. When you look at Poseidon you notice that she is a very long and tall ship, but when it comes to width, she looks very narrow. If she were designed to be 6 times her length of 1,106 ft - that would be 184.3 ft wide - I am fairly certain she may have survived the hit from that wave. This is further proven by a Virtual Sailor 7 video I watched of testing her in large seas whilst being compared to the Harmony of the Seas. While she handled a lot better than the cruise ship, she still rolled a lot more than she otherwise should've. Speaking of handling, I have also since noticed her sharp bow, which confirmed to me that she is an ocean liner. That's nice. She just needs some improvements is all.
@@Kaidhicksii I have a theory on why she is narrow. She might have been designed like the Lusatania and Mauretania ships long and narrow for better speed. If you didn't notice Poseidon is actually 1 knot faster then the Queen Mary 2 Poseidon is 32 knots at max speed. She still could have been wider though. As for top heavy her super structure isn't that large compared to the actual ship itself. Queen Mary's super structure / height is still a little more towering. I still get what you mean though!

Plus when you add that Cunarders like the aforementioned greyhounds, the original Queens Mary and Elizabeth, and even the QE2, tended to roll a lot due to their narrow shapes, and yeah. Poseidon's designers and owners likely intended for her to be fast. :)

When a ship fully turns 180°, I believe that is called turtling. It is referred to as a turtle. Not a full capsize. Maybe I'm wrong, but I thought I'd give some feedback for future videos

I think that if Poseidon was given a bigger bow it would look so much better.The stern is okay.
