Today I’m adding a few minor updates to my vintage home since taking down all my Christmas decor. Vintage Home Tour - One Last Look At My Home Before I Decorate For Fall🍁 • Vintage Home Tour - On...
Hey - it was fun seeing what you did show it. It’s a lot to try to film everything all the time. It was interesting to see how you hung the plates. You’re so organized! The room looks great!
Love the additions you made to your bedroom. I liked the greenery with the plates, but you do what you like! Tell Samuel he did a great job with his first video!
Oh that’s an interesting idea, never thought of that. My bedroom set is dated but I don’t see David ever getting rid of it since it was made by his dad. I struggle with how to make it look nice. There is a big difference in something being “dated” and something being “vintage” you know.
Oh my goodness, your nephew is a natural!! He had me laughing out loud, give him a hug from this Nana! So enjoyed this video, thanks for posting. I do like the light paper on the back of your cabinet and hutch. Maybe you'll find the perfect vintage wallpaper at a thrift store. And I like the plates in your bedroom. My living/dining room is a complete blank slate right now, and it looks like I am moving. I'm going right into Valentine décor. I have a collection of 3 dimensional vintage and antique Valentine greeting cards that I display along with my Valentine Trees. Here in Northern CA, we have another set of storms coming in, so I'll be at home for the next 3-4 days, a great opportunity to decorate. Happy New Year Becky, I have so enjoyed your channel, thank you.
Had a wonderful Christmas. It was cold here in the Foothills of NC. My children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren were all at my house for Christmas. We had a wonderful time. Happy New Year.
Becky the plates are very nice up there. I loved the greenery up there also. Everything looks lovely as usual. Happy New Yesr to you and your Family. God Bless you all.. Amen . 🙏🙏🙏🙏🤣👍❤️🌻👋🌹
Hi Becky's! First of all Happy New Year. Oh Becky I love your hutch with all that Amber glass. I just love Anber glass. I have a lot of it. Then your bedroom those dishes look lovely up,there. I liked the greenery up there. Those amber lamps are Absolutely Beautiful. The room looks Beautiful now. Thank you for letting us visit you for awhile and I enjoyed every minute of it. So until next time God Bless you and have a Blessed evening and stay safe my dear and Special Friend. 👭💚🏠
I am so glad you took the time away you needed. Our Christmas week we had a couple days of 30 below wind chill in Eastern Iowa. Then the following week it was 56 degrees one day. Your bedroom turned out just gorgeous. I am in love with the lamps.
OMG! Samuel is a natural! Too cute! We had very, very cold weather. I live in Illinois, near St. Louis, MO. We had a blizzard. Fortunately, we’re retired and didn’t need to go anywhere.
We had a cold snowy Christmas in northeastern kY but we were blessed to be able to see our family. I decorated my bedroom for the first time since we moved into this house many years ago and I love it, I never thought it was necessary before
Oh how fun! I only started decorating my bedroom for Christmas a little bit over the last couple of years. I think it makes it fun. I’m so glad you got to see your family despite the weather.
I remember years ago taking small pieces of greenery down and having a pot of boiling water. I would put baking soda in the boiling water and I would drop the greenery in the water for just a quick second and it would clean them. Of course they need rinsing and hanging to dry but the baking soda would kind of scrub it.
You are such a good mom. I also get emotional when my kids visit and leave. It is so difficult. No matter how old they get they are still our babies. I love your decor and I love your videos. Happy New Year to you and yours.
Thank you so much Deb, I think it makes it harder because I know she misses home so much and wants to be here. She is alone so much when she is away at college and it brings her down so much. She is very much the social butterfly, being alone is hard on her.
You could add some more amber glass or yellow glass up on the cabinet above your bed for some more color. But it would not block the plates much. Love your Amber glass.
Becky your house is looking really in order. It is a job taking Christmas down . I still got my living room and den to take down . Hope I'll finish this week. I love that portrait you got .
Hi Becky! The lamps are perfect - they are so you!! :). What if you tried foam board or cardboard covered in fabric or paper for the background in your hutch and shelf? You could easily switch it our still and it would give you the option of having the background or not having it. Happy New Year!!
Hi Paula, yes, I was just telling another person that I needed to first decide if I was going to even like it. The original Christmas paper wasn’t wowing me at all. Now that I know it needed a different more neutral color I am going to work on a more permanent solution.
It's so good to see you back, Becky! Oh, how I've missed your videos. But I'm so glad you were able to spend some time with your family. That's super important! I love the plates over the bed-fantastic idea! And the picture and lamps together...so pretty! Can't wait to see what videos you have in store for us this year!
Happy New Year! So glad you’re back. Samuel is so cute!! Here in southwest Missouri we got enough snow to make Christmas wonderful! I love to have snow for Christmas since I was a child. I love those lamps. They’re perfect for your room. Thanks for showing your home. It’ll be fun to see you decorate it again! Have a wonderful weekend!!
Thank so much Tonya, I am fascinated with a white Christmas because we just don’t get them here where I live. We usually have short sleeves on during Christmas, lol! I’m so glad you had a magical holiday and you were safe from all that crazy weather.
Amber glass not my favorite but it is beautiful the way you mixed it up. Also you scared me standing on that bed..I almost killed myself doing that! Loved all your hard work.
Happy New Year to you and your family Becky. Was so happy to see you posted a video. Love the decor and the paper in your shelves were a great idea. I think I agree with you on the greenery in your room. Looks great with just the plates. Have a great weekend and God bless you🌹🙏🏼
I have only ever had one white Christmas in my lifetime and it was a weather anomaly back in 1989. The locals still talk about it. Lol! I hope you enjoyed every second of your Christmas and made a big snowman! 😉
It is great to see all that you have done to reset your wonderful home after Christmas. Your channel is one of my favorites. The amber lamps are perfect on your bedroom side tables. Should you ever find a vintage set of lamps, you can have them rewired. My husband rewired my bedroom lamps that my dad made in his high school woodworking class over 70 years ago.
Thank you Kennia that means so much to me. I will stay on the lookout for a set of beautiful vintage lamps I can always switch things around in the house. It’s all about the search for that one item that’s going to make us swoon. 😍
I use foam board and cover it with fabric to back shelving…..works well. I like the lighter paper you used. Looks great ……..wow , you have done a lot of work !🤗🤗🤗🤗
I love the paper behind your dishes on your hutch..I used wallpaper on mind just using a glue stick so if wanted to change it later...We are in the Midwest and we were caught in the extreme cold and snow but were still able to have all our Christmas festivities... Happy New Year
Thank you Mary, I’m so glad that crazy weather didn’t keep you from seeing your family for Christmas. Happy New Year and wishes for warmer days ahead! ❤️
Becky I love all your amber glass collection. It’s beautiful ❤️ our kids didn’t get to come in for Christmas because John got covid and finally yesterday he tested negative but I got it on December 30 so their visit is postponed again. I’m trying to rest and be patient ❤️. Love and blessings ❤️❤️❤️
Yes this Christmas was sad!.Spent it alone because of the winter storm and my family was not able to come in ! Still have not got to have our family get together yet!😔
I absolutely love the painting in there by your bed. It looks so pretty. I think the pictures on the other side of the bed need wooden frames to coordinate with the frame around the painting. How about a strand of faux leaves underneath the dishes? Or faux ivy? Just a thought. Everything looks nice!
I need to update those pictures, they have been hanging there for so many years. I think you are right. Wooden frames would definitely look good there.
It’s good to see you Becky! I really like the paper on your hutch and bookcase because it really shows off your amber ware and dishes. I think I have told you before I have stained built ins on each side of our fireplace and all of my decor gets lost unless it is white or cream items. My house isn’t farmhouse so a lot of white isn’t what I decorate with. My husband just doesn’t want to paint the shelves so I am thinking about adding some kind of paper or something. Also, I love the plates above the bed but the greenery was too thick. Maybe some type of wispy garland or greenery would work. Your lamps are perfect for your bedroom!! 😊❤😊
Thanks so much Maria, sounds like you and I have similar problems with our display shelves. The paper was easy to put up and cheap it’s just not the perfect answer to my problem. I think I am going to keep trying some other options. Let me know how yours turns out.
Have you ever tried foam core, and covering it first with paper or even fabric?? When we're not able to chain an item permanently, and we need a temporary fix/change...we will use the foam board...and an old decorated tip...use luan plywood cut to exact size, and use the type of fabric of choice, and use fabric stiffener n apply it to the plywood, allow to dry...then use as desired...then if ever you tire of that style, the fabric will peel off, and you can launder it and re use in other ways..lol..we dont use that method, like we used too..its way more easier to just cover the foam core board..just a thought dear..you do a great job decorating yalls home..and I do like the greenery over your bed..lol..it looks good to me..tfs, hope yall have a blessed weekend..
Thank you Sharron, I think that is a great idea. I am going to try to come up with a more permanent solution now that I know I like the lighter color back there. I wasn’t completely convinced with the Christmas paper. This one is much better.
Welcome back and Happy New Year! I completely binge watched your videos over Christmas break and loved every minute of it! Thank you for the much needed entertainment that you provided while I spent the day taking down my Christmas decorations. So are you a take Christmas decorations down immediately after Christmas or after the New Year kinda gal?
Thank you so much Laura, that means so much that you like my content. Yes, I am a right after Christmas gal! Lol! I have a week off from work after Christmas so I try to get it all done during my time off. Otherwise it lead into February. Lol! (My porch is still decorated though) 😉
Get poster board and wallpaper. Cut the poster board down to the size of the back of each shelf. Use wallpaper or pretty shelf liner to cover the poster board. Then place it in the back of the bookcase. this will let you make it double sided if you wanted to change it out for the holiday and doesn't require a permanent change.
That is on my list of things to try, I guess I wanted to see if I even liked it or not before I put a lot of work in it. The Christmas paper wasn’t wowing me. This lighter color seems to look better so I am probably going to come up with a more permanent solution now
Probably not, since David made it for me I want to keep it as original as possible. Someone else just gave me a great idea of painting bead board and adding to back so I’m contimplating on that now.
I've used fabric on foam core as a shelf backdrop - fewer seams.
I’m going to definitely try it now that I know I want to make it permanent.
He's a natural! Wow, a hutch in your bedroom, love it! I do prefer the greenery, kind of warms the space up. The room is just lovely. 💜
He is such a ham! Maybe one day when he gets older he can have his own channel. Thanks so much Linda. Xoxo
Hey - it was fun seeing what you did show it. It’s a lot to try to film everything all the time. It was interesting to see how you hung the plates. You’re so organized! The room looks great!
Thank you so much Roxanne!❤️
Love the additions you made to your bedroom. I liked the greenery with the plates, but you do what you like! Tell Samuel he did a great job with his first video!
I will tell him Kelly, thank you so much he is the life of the party that’s for sure. ❤️
I like the greenery it ties in with your new picture . Love new lamps ,plates look good over the bed too .
Your new picture would look good mounted on your bed mirror. Everything looks great. Like the greenery
Oh that’s an interesting idea, never thought of that. My bedroom set is dated but I don’t see David ever getting rid of it since it was made by his dad. I struggle with how to make it look nice. There is a big difference in something being “dated” and something being “vintage” you know.

Thank you so much Elizabeth I’m looking forward to this coming year too. I hope I can keep you guys entertained.
I love your way of decorating! I collect stoneware too. Also amber and the green glass. You are giving me so many ideas!
We just have great minds because that is just my style too. ❤️
Had a wonderful Christmas. It was cold here in the Foothills of NC. My children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren were all at my house for Christmas. We had a wonderful time. Happy New Year.
That is so great Iona, I’m so glad the weather didn’t hinder you from being able to spend Christmas with your loved ones. Did you get some snow?
@@MyLittleVintageHome no snow just frigid temps.

Thanks Kathy, yes my collection has gotten big and I still can’t stop looking for them. Lol!
OMG !! He’s adorable!
Looks very nice...great job....love the greenery up there....my greenery i take and rinse under the bathtub faucet and hang to dry....

Your nephew doing a good job on his video . Learned from his aunt Becky cute .
You could add some more amber glass or yellow glass up on the cabinet above your bed for some more color. But it would not block the plates much. Love your Amber glass.

You're so nice!! Happy New Year!!
Thanks so much Dave, Happy New Year.
It looks nice, Becky. I didn’t hate the greenery. You’re right - it needs something else.
I’m still thinking about what to put up there, considering some wicker baskets . 🤔
Try bead board wallpaper in back of hutch then paint it what color you want. Also, look at contact papers.
Now that is a good idea too. I had not even thought of doing that! 🤔
You can get peel n stick wall paper. And put on your selves. You wouldn't see the lines.
I’m going to look for something else, the paper is close but it’s not quite there yet. Peel and stick is a good idea.
Love watching you-you’re very inspiring to use what we have! (I do like the greenery above the bed).
Thanks so much Sandra, I may have to add it back, everyone seems to like it.
