finds out about basically nothing... wow i didn't know the lore was so deep. you could spend literally 20 years reading into warhammer lore and still not know half of it. 40+ years of media from dozens of sources and media types. Leutin09 may be arguably one of the most knowledgeable and even he on multiple occasions that he doesn't know everything.

Long story short, here is what happened and why in Astartes(That I believe):
All the grey armored warriors were Astartes, which are genetically engineered super soldiers with minds and bodies many times more powerful than the "baseline" humans who saw them stomping. They are called Space Marines, and are from the Adeptus Astartes Chapter "Retributors." (The creator of the animation made this chapter up for the videos, they dont exist in the lore)
This detachment has been sent, probably ordered by the Inquisition, to destroy the orb artefacts we see in the video. A squad was sent on a breaching pod to enter the ship, which they did by flying at it and cutting into the hull with lasers, kill any they encounter, and render the warp artefacts inert or destroyed.
On their way to the orbs, the squad encounters a pair of psykers. These psykers are powerful beings who possess a connection to "The Warp." It is a dimension connected but also separate to our own. There creatures which are created and fueled by the power of mortal souls and powerful emotion seek to corrupt or destroy mortals and their dimension (mostly just because).
The masks you see their pair of psykers are called Psychic Hoods. They allow psykers to channel their powers much more controllably, as some psykers, if they are not extremely powerful, or attempt to channel forces more powerful than they are, can go mad, become focal points for rifts into the warp, or even become demon possessed.
Inspite of what you might think, the pair of psykers we see are not particularly powerful ones. The most powerful psykers, called Alphas, can be capable of destroying cities or star ships. This is probably one of the reasons they wear the hoods, to give them a boost in power and control. Also, the hoods allow another person a measure of control over the wearer.
The Astartes squad kill them in short order, and proceed into a vault in the enemy ship, which is likely psychically shielded, to find the orbs.
When the astartes "stab" the orb, we see a connection has been made with it, which allows the Inquisitor back on the Astartes ship to essentially listen in on the psychic communication between the orbs.
This was clearly not a good idea. After the unintelligible conversation the Inquisitor hears between the orbs, this is what the orbs said to each other.
Orb1 "who is here?"
Orb2 "I have failed, brother" (couldn't stop the marines or corrupt them)
Orb1 "We have all failed" (he's captured)
Orb1 "the Astartes deny our touch" (they have a hard time controlling them)
Orb2 "You must return... Break your seal!" (returning from the warp to "normal" universe and get free from the inquisitors seal)
Orb1 "Impossible, we'll never survive!"
Orb2 "You must. take the alpha" (the inquisitor since he's the highest ranked and has psyker powers, he is the "Alpha". If the orb controls him, it has the entire ship 'the Daemon that is.').
This is where the inquisitor drops his concentration to warn them, (“Pull them back immediately!”). The inquisitor is immediately corrupted by the power of the warp wielded by the orb artefacts, and we see him receiving visions, chanting heresy, and finally succumbing to madness.
As orb 1 (the daemon) does this, it takes control of the inquisitor, but before it can do anything the commander warns his troops ("Get them out Now!")and takes the soon to be possessed inquisitor out.
The impulsor sergeant (space marine) receives comms to watch out but its too late and the Daemon of orb 2 sucks them into the warp.
Warhammer 40k is extremely hostile space the moment it uses its psyker powers within the warp it lights up like a Christmas tree and other daemons kill it thus it lets the marines go and they get warped to a different location.
Fun fact... if the commander was a second or 2 slower the entire ship would have been corrupted and they would have died. Also possessed Psykers are very hard to kill,
blowing off the head doesn't mean they are dead, you really have to dismantle the whole body."
Immediately we go back to our hero Astartes squad and see why they were warned. Their orb "takes" them. Dragging them within the confines of the orb. We dont really know where they go when we see them tethered inside the orb. Whether the Astartes are in the warp, or a psychic vision, some other place... who knows. What we do see is that our hero Astartes are then teleported (through the warp - which is why he throws up blood) to a death planet.
And that is basically what the story of Astartes is.
I do not hear "take the alpha", I only hear "take them". The psyker is also too weak to be an alpha-level psyker.
I think it's more that they notice someone's eavesdropping on their conversation, and tries to silence him after he gets out the warning to the commander.
So I think the last ditch plan was just to cause as much trouble as possible, one by grabbing the Astartes and the other by grabbing the psyker.
In fact, I think the orbs were trying to escape first and foremost, because the Astartes had basically pushed them into a corner, indeed they had already captured one and mounted melta charges on it should it try anything.

...No, no, my man. No. Human Alpha-assigned psykers are... almost hypotheticals because they are so rare. We (the Imperium) basically don't even know what they are *_truly_* capable of, but one of the lines categorizing psyker strength of an Alpha Plus being able to rend Titans in half. Titans. Like with the the ease of snapping your fingers.
The assignment scale the Imperium uses also isn't iron-clad, or a pass/fail grading scale - it's more of a... "suggestion" as to the capability of the psyker. Case in point, Agun Soric from the Gaunt's Ghost series was eventually confirmed to be a psyker, took on the Black Ships and assigned as a Beta-assigned psyker... And... He could send short hand-written messages to him in the past stuffed in shell casings and could tell if someone was sick. It doesn't sound that impressive, but actual reliable foresight is one of the most difficult and rare psychic powers to exist in Warhammer 40K - with even the Emperor having difficulty with it. So being able to send a message back to yourself to change events? Just that as a power got Agun Soric only a few ladder rungs down below the most powerful human psykers to exist. When it comes to Alpha-assigned psykers you're getting to the point where most aren't stable enough to even survive and have to deal with massive forces of the immaterium and materium in such concentrations that it rarely ends well for the psyker, often rather messily. And once you start advancing up the scale it's more like a star suddenly having so much mass that it goes supernova and/or into a black hole. I could imagine that if a regular mortal was an Alpha Plus and they got anywhere close to the same power as the Emperor had to begin with you'd have the energies and concentrations to do things like create warp rifts or even a second, very small, Eye of Terror. That's how powerful and rare these energies and people are.
These are actually fairly powerful psykers in the lore. Arch theorized Delta or very low barely Gamma, and I'd have to agree. Most likely very high Delta-assignment. They're much more powerful than most sanctioned Imperial psykers and far, far more dangerous. That's... like 1% of the top 1% of human psykers here. If psykers that could just just literally vaporize multiple Space Marines with a hand gesture and freeze an Astartes in power armor in mid-movement and even start contorting him were the average or norm, the Imperium would have far bigger issues than it already has.

the orbs have nothing to do with daemons. they are from an older small xenos race. i forgot the name of the race but there are some youtube videos explaining the full breakdown.
Funnily enough, with GW copyrighting the animation, it means the Retributors are a lore accurate chapter now
Bolters are no mere kinetic weapon
Bolters are a high velocity armor piercing explosive munition similar to an RPG an assault rifle and grenade launcher where if the initial impact of the bolt round hitting you it’s explosive charge would akin to having a small fragmentation grenade shoved into your gut as not only the concussive end expanding forces but also the shards of hot metal flying everywhere inside you.
Their adamantine tip also gives them great armour piercing capabilities, and each round is blessed to make them even more potent against the foul abominations of the Warp
And that's the nice standard round. Then there's the Kraken Round that basically turns the whole round into a needle-armor-piercing round. Oh and the Hellfire round that's just mutagenic acid designed particularly to deal with tyranids... etc. etc. :P
@@kinagrill then there’s infurnus rounds which acts similarly to napalm where if it hits a target it causes the hapless victim to combust, or hell the most brutal bolter round ever created was phosphex weapons which are similar to infurnus rounds but are laughably deemed to heinous even by the imperiums standards to use which resulted in its ban, despite being the same ass holes who’ll happily let a devildog chimera house you down with acid until all that’s left is a pool of acid and what was once a person, similar to how the wicked witch died in that fairytale about some slippers, a scarecrow, cowardly lion and a heartless tin person (best not to assume 😂) but yeh the bolter personality is more akin to that of a shotgun RPG hybrid where even the standard bolter comes in many different shapes and sizes, from the more traditional and ubiquitous Godwin pattern which is the more iconic version used by most space marines as their standard weapon, however first founding chapters which were originally the twenty original space marine legions, each had their own unique style and types of bolters specifically designed for each individual legions preferred methods of fighting, such as the angelus patter bolter used by the blood angles which uses blood shard ammunition which is basically a more powerful version that the standard bolt round allowing it for much higher levels of penetration, as well as utilizing a drum magazine instead of the more standard ones.

@@Aunzo91 The 40k legion is no true legion, we are a band of men and women from the many sects of the community. Tabletop Players, Loremasters, Painters, Animators, etc., we all stand under one banner in the end.
If you're really interested in 40k, I'd recommend watching "Warhammer 40k factions explained" it gives a rather brief overview of the most important parts of the lore. And it may be "brief" but it's still about an hour of a video. That should tell you how deep the lore in this universe is.

These are some of my personal favorite 40K weapons
The necrom gauss flayer acts similar to that of the Star Wars disintegration weapons where if you get hit even once, the beam of energy will shred its targets on a molecular level until you’re nothing but a smoldering pile of ash and dust, and these weapons are the standard for necroms from their infantry to necrom destroyers which can disintegrate a tank in one shot along with its unfortunate crew.
The second favorite weapon is a grav gun or better a grav cannon, which is a weapon that applies the laws of physics onto a target by increasing is central mass by a factor of ten for example a two ton car becomes a twenty ton car, and in a second it becomes a two hundred ton car and so basically it uses its targets own mass against itself crushing its occupants like when your rush a ball of tinfoil leading only a trail of blood and liquids to seep out of the cracks as the unfortunate occupants are literally crushed to a pulp.
The third favorite gun is the torsion cannon which is a weapon that generates three gravitic fields of energy which is used for say construction where the gravity fields can hold metal or rocks, however the torsion cannon as it name suggests uses said gravity fields but adds an extra twist, and I do mean that in a literal sense where the three gravity fields would hold its target in place and slowly rotate ripping its target limb from limb as blood, guts and other organs are sent fraying everywhere as the unfortunate victim and worse the enemies see their comrade die in such a brutal Cassio. Where it’s similar to how you would pull apart a doll.
On other fun and entertaining weapon
Tyranid weapons and I mean that in the broadest sense imaginable, their biological weapons are their equivalent to say a flame thrower to a stomach sprayer where a tyranid literally fires digestive acids at their target as the poor soul is slowly dissolved until all that remains is a pool of liquids as the tyranids slowly slurps up the remains, as for their other weapons, things like flesh borer maggots burrow deep into its targets skin and slowly eat its way to the victims brain, others are used or created to eat as much of the enemy as possible and then use the added biomass as a means to evolve into a different Tyranid all together.
Noise cannon and noise marine weapons where their weapons are literal speakers cranked up to a hundred much like that scene from back to the future as chaos possessed music and sound not only destroys your mind and body but even your soul.
And these are some of the best weapons from 40k

warhammer lore is crazy. especially 40k. space orkz are the most comical. they are basically god like, if they had enough collective braincells. they literally will things to be true like weapons/tanks ect put together with scrap does not work for anyone else except the orks who just believe it works, so it does. they believe painting things red make it go faster. so it does. there was this human (non astarte) that was captured by orks and he understood this well, even augmented a sniper rifle in his eye so they believed he could kill with a stare. long story short he lived a really long life just because the orks believed he couldn't die.
I would to say the scene of the space Marine getting pelted by the multi laser that just shows how strong there power is you either need heavy weapons AT equipment or just a fucking chimera to kill one

Technically, Yuzu could qualify, potentially, as an abhuman and an officially recognized/"stable" abhuman in the Imperium. Basically human mutants that are within acceptable ranges of tolerance of genetic difference from humans and are capable of breeding with regular humans and their own abhuman strain without significant mutation issues.
