I’m watching their reaction early in the song, and I keep thinking, “Wait ‘til she hits THE NOTE!”
This is the 1st song that I ever heard from Morgan James. I am now a total fan. Ye gods, what a talent!
I've been waiting for you guys to start exploring Morgan James. You've got to listen to her duet with Haley.
Some other PMJ singers to check out: Aubrey Logan, Shoshonna Bean, Sara Nimietz, and Robyn Adele Anderson. Especially check out Aubrey Logan's Give It Away and Bad Blood covers.
I just can't tell how many times I've watched this performance. That's absolutely the best version of Dream On, also the best PMJ song. Morgan is awesome!
Whenever i see/hear PMJ, Morgan, Haley and Robyn, somewhere in the back of my mind, i get a little bit angry.
And why is that? simple, i cannot wrap my head around the fact, that the socalled chart toppers, are stacked with little talented people, taking up spots, these true musicians should be having.
Auto-tune here, meaningless rap there, add a millennial whoop and boom, you got yourself a hit now, that doesnt take much skill and effort, but what these people do, is true musicianship and ought to be much more known and rewarded as such.
Don't forget Sara!
I'm not a fan of Robyn. I always love her song choices, but she messes up the songs in such a way I can't enjoy them. js
Because it's the 'KIDS' buying the songs that push this 'pop' music to the top of these "charts".
We, the "been there, done that" mature ear, know who resides atop the REAL charts.
@@oneway707 Absolutely true :) (Edit* and radio stations who play music they get paid for playing)
ok boomer
Speaking of Haley...you really do need to watch her and Morgan do "All About The Bass", European tour version and also Haley's new originals.
Ray Raudebaugh I don’t know if Marco could survive her video for Shook....
@@MarJaLina888 Yep, that thought had already crossed my mind. I think the song is probably good but the visuals are so distracting I am not sure :-)
there is also a good duet with Jeff Goldblum
Dear Prudence by the Beatles is stunning
ronnie massart Yes! Dear Prudence is the best duet.
She's a classically trained vocalist who has sang on Broadway and can sing mezzo soprano opera if needed. She has perfect diction.
I've seen Morgan a couple of times live and she is just amazing; great stage presence and vocal delivery, and just a very nice person as well. And her band is always top shelf.
You two are TOO CUTE! Love your genuineness!-And the thing I realised with Haley, Morgan and PMJ-When listening, we’re all having a fully immersive, body-mind-soul experience. They lure us in with subtlety then toss us all about (in a good way) with their artistry. They’re telling a dynamic story. These days, what other pop stars completely command our attention like that? Even ones with objectively great voices (Gaga, Miley, Christina A)-they’re all missing that special “I am here and I’m not letting you go until I’m done with you” sauce. 😊✌🏽
Loved your input & insight.
The only other artists that do the same thing for me are Pentatonix, and while they do covers of pop songs along with their originals, they are not really played much on the radio.
Should see her do Take Me to Church.
.... it started w/ that "strut" ... a warning to sit down and buckle up ... something awesome was coming ... then from there she just takes off ... at 4.00-4.12 mins Morgan pulls out the stake ... and just drives it through the heart of this song ....
What a difference being able to hear the lyrics makes !!!
Check out Morgan James' cover of 'Take Me to Church' - it's dynamic yet imbued with subtlety and nuance! If you enjoyed her cover of "Dream On" then you'll also enjoy her rendition of Demi Lovato's "I really don't care" - it's a little lighter and more playful but great fun. Finally - check out her cover of Sam Smith's "I know I'm not the Only One" - it's breath-taking and angst-ridden in its beauty!
You need to check out her PMJ cover of 'Maps' by Maroon 5. It's FIRE.
I second that!!
favorite Morgan James cover right there!
Maps blows me away every time I hear it! It is better than the original.
Jay Holland totally agree.
@@JayBob510 No doubt about that. I prefer a lot of PMJ's tunes over the originals.
Thanks Guys! I've been waiting for a reaction to Morgan James a lot!!! She's killing it! Fantastic performance, beautful and talented voice! That was a real pleasure me.
"Oh my God" is RIGHT! Morgan is so blessed with her voice. LOVE her, can't get enough. I love how you guys are left practically speechless at first. She has that effect on a lot of us.
PMJ can keep you busy for weeks!
I know I'm 6 months late to the party, but PMJ has become THE band I listen to. There is so much talent in the group, their colaborations, arrangements, everything.
She's my "Angel of music" ❤️❤️❤️
PmJ - All about the bass, European tour version
Love PMJ and their arrangements of pop songs in different genre, as well as the many people that are great artist and do the arrangements justice.
This is what you get when you give musicians (there's a difference between musicians and someone who can play music) free rein to add their own flair and emotion to a performance. The arranger/piano player (Scott Bradley) is a phenom. His vision on how to adapt a song to the stylistic genre needed is impeccable.
She also does an incredible cover of the entire Beatles White Album. And makes it her own.
Is it me, or could this cover be the title song for a Bond movie?
with Sam Heughan as Bond
i could but it never will. MGM Studios couldnt make a but load of money from a cover.
Without a doubt.......
Listen to You Never Lied from her solo album Hunter. It's brilliant and sounds to me very much like a Bond theme tune.
I love the proud face you guys make when you see someone nailing it ahahaha
Love how you guys are blown away... Like the rest of us! I cannot listen to Morgan without being covered in goose-bumps!
Frisson, every time I listen to her.
If you are going to listen to PMJ and Morgan James, you have to listen to Maps. What she can do with a terrible song is amazing. Also, I'm willing to bet that a cigarette never touched those lips. Wow!
Gonna try it
Maps was the first song she played with PMJ
My favorite part was how she held a note and just when I thought she was going to take it high
She said NO BITCHE stayed with the note and let the band do it for her
Fucking genius s
Another vote for "All About That Bass," European version. Hailey and Morgan singing together, in a New Orleans jazz style. Plus two guys playing the string bass at the same time. Absolutely marvelous.
You have to review Morgan and Haley's duet of Dear Prudence. Effortless and truly beautiful art.
Yes, that performance is a beautiful feet.
I'm so glad you watched this.. I see music the same as the singer on the left of my screen..
MAPS [Morgan James w/ PMJ]. if you like this, ya gotta see MAPS. she will blow your hair back.
So very true...
Now so PMJ All About That Bass. You get Haley and Morgan
I've always been an Aerosmith fan and Dream On one of my favorites. Up to now I've never heard of Morgan James. Although I feel like a traitor ; ) I've got to admit that she blew Aerosmith right out of the water! I wasn't really impressed at the beginning but as the song moved on and she displayed her excellent vocal talent I changed my mind in a hurry. I'm now on my way to search CZcams for more Morgan James. Thanks for this video. Best regards, Steve
The first time I listened to her cover, I couldn't get Steven Tyler's voice out of my head. I mean, him and this song are an icon. After the third time of listening, I was finally able to hear Morgan and, WOW . . . just WOW!
Thank you for making me listening to perfection ❤❤❤
I'm off to PMJ in Melbourne tonight. Can't wait!!
You are lucky you got to see them before the pandemic struck! I hope things in Australia are better than they are here in the US. I am so looking forward to live concerts again!
She sings like she's got an extra lung or two hidden in that slim body.
she's got three lungs
Morgan James trained as an OPERA singer
There's a 30 min video on Paste Magazine channel with Scott Bradlee (creator of PMJ) and Morgan James. They talk about PMJ and perform three songs: Take Me to Church, Sweet Child of Mine, Who Wants to Live Forever. It' too long to react to, but really helpful to understand the history of PMJ. And the songs are great too.
That is such a great video, I just saw it last week and enjoyed the great performances and learned a lot .
There is alot on Postmodern Jukebox that I love. Great reaction!
Incredible vocalist surrounded by brilliant musicians , all the package is magical , but that lady did the impossible to me ...sang that specific song equally with Tyler if not better ! She just blew me away !!!!
You two were so mesmerized! She is enchanting.
Besides Haley Reinhart being one of my favorite singers, Morgan James is up there with her! She has a fantastic voice. What else can we say, right?
I’m not sure if you guys know, but Morgan and Hayley Reinhardt have a duet of the Beatles ‘Dear Prudence’, it’s not a PMJ song, but it’s awesome‼️
Post Modern Jukebox You NEED to look at "All About the Bass" With Morgan, Haley and Ariana Savalas in
one of her best Brilliant
PMJ is always great and Morgan has an amazing voice. Maps and Lovin', Touchin', Sqeezing or I Knew You Were Waiting duets with Ryan Shaw who is also very good. Haley has new music out. Don't Know How To Love You is so good and Shook is for mature audiences, sort of. Lol
You should listen to Morgan and Haley doing Dear Prudence. I also second the call for Morgan's cover of Maps, and the Post Modern Jukebox (the European tour version) cover of All About That Bass with Morgan, Haley, and Ariana Savalas.
If you start to react to PMJ videos now, and do one a week, it will take you over SIX YEARS. (Actually, you would never stop given that they usually come out with a new video every week.)
She is truly great. This one is timeless. Beutiful and deep.
check her cover of Take me to church. mindblowing. also with PMJ
Grandgrandpa 71 here. Important is timing. Original 4/4. Here, 6/8. And of couse, Arrangement+ Voice.
I love this cover. Thanks...
I've seen this video before so I knew you were going to love it. PMJ nails it every time. Although when they do boring, repetitive songs sometimes even they can't make it actually good lol. Luckily they do a lot of great songs like this one. You should check out all the small things sad clown cover.
Objectively, when you hear covers like this one, or Maps, it's rly mind boggling. I watched all I could find on Morgan after the first thing I've seen her do with PMJ, that Hozer song and gotta say, she's the best. Haley can suck it. Her voice, feeling, her understanding of phrasing and rhythm, her presence on stage. No wonder Prince let her sing his song.
Haley is an outstanding vocalist. I much prefer Morgan over Haley but it's close. Try not to sound like The Black Dog (and which ever else aliases he uses - there are a LOT). Comments like yours can turn people away from Morgan. Because of The Black Dog (and aliases), I listen to Haley a lot less than I would because of his negative comments. Stay positive.
Haley is just as good as Morgan
Take me to Church - Morgan James... That is all.
Great reaction guys. CZcams in their infinite wisdom (insert dripping sarcasm here) un subscribed me from your channel. (sigh) I have corrected this error.
Great reaction. PMJ does some pretty amazing things and they always seem to pick the best vocalist to carry out the goodness. On that note, I don't know if you have heard Floor Jansen and Nightwish, but that might be a "rabbit hole" to explore. Have a great day.
the entry strut!!!
She does do the iconic part its just not screamed like Steven does it
Excelente reaccion, saludos desde Costa Rica, pura vida vida !!! Morgan es grandiosa.
here's the crazy part . . . what you just witnessed was the first and ONLY take. PMJ doesn't come in and spend an hour on rehearsal . . . they come in, shoot the video, then pack up their stuff. For a first crack at it, this was ridiculous!
Hi guys, subscriber here. You last reacted to So Hyang in July 2018 , when both of you were rendered speechless with "You Raise Me Up". I'd like you to react to her DUET with "The One" called "For Thousand Days". This is my 5th request, not only because she is fabulous but "The One" is also great singer and their collaboration is something that you will appreciate. Thanks
Now This is a masterpiece from Morgan and PMJ, not a cover
any more! More like this please, "Maps" is a good performance
from Morgan James too.
You guys are funny!
all that raving and not one lapse in musical perfection ....NOONE ELSE CAN DO THAT. Julliard trained opera singer....
ah finally ... thanks for reacting
I love that you guys get it . Have you gotten to the third, but the original, PMJ angel, Miss Robyn Adel Anderson?
I always like morgan James and she was liked Motown's Barry Gordy cause they have a good ear for a singer, they used her in the Motown story movie, I think. Her version of ,,, darn I can't remember but it's one of her go to covers. I like her anyhow.
You to hear Haile Rinehart sing There's the door it's not Postmodern juitebox but it's great.
You guys are the best Reaction duo out there.. Sound quality is tops, video quality is right on and your reactions are very genuine. If you haven't already, could you check out Morgan and Haley singing "Dear Prudence" and a fun video is ( believe it or not) Jeff Goldblum & The Mildred Snitzer Orchestra, Featuring HALEY Reinhart, singing "My Baby Just Cares For Me"
You need to react to Morgan outside of PMJ. She's incredibly talented.
You need to do "Ice, Ice Baby." PMJ, of course. Holy hell, it is (first off) hilarious, and secondly, it is brilliant.
6:06 maybe she couldnt do it, erm nope Morgan James Vocal Range (C♯3 - F♯6)
Preach
Unsure if you've reacted to this one yet, but PMJ used the same set up for Haley to sing Black Hole Sun - I think you may enjoy that one too :D
Now if you want to see her fun side, check out her shows with a club band called THE SKIVVIES. Just a little ranch girl from Idaho. Thence to Julliard, thence to Broadway and now the interweb. What? why isn't she a chaRT TOPPER?
She can do it.
So guys. Sexiness/sultriness of Haley or the power of Morgan?
Haley and Morgan 'all about the bass' (with a wee help from Telly Savale's daughter)or 'dear prudence'
A few more PMJ songs for you to check out are (we cant stop ft. robyn - Maps ft Morgan, Careless Whisper and Rude ft Von Scott) You will not be sorry. lol
Please do PMJ's Caroline Baran's version of "Nothing Else Matters."
all about that Bass pmj
You guys ever do a Nightwish reaction?
If something is a ready made bond theme it's this one
I CANNOT understand why I do not see your Reaction to Haley, Morgan, Ariana, and Casey doing PMJ's "All About The Bass"!
I can't believe you missed PMJ + Haley Reinhart + Morgan James + Ariana Savalas + Casey Abrams ! It's pretty darn good!
You smiled through the whole song......
for other PMJ to look at - New Orleans style Sweet Child of Mine and anything with Robyn ( I believe it's) Anderson
She is so good
I could watch her sing the phone book. Incredible voice and smoking hot
Check out PMJ with Morgan doing all about the bass
Check out Morgan James on PJM Motown song. She is amazing in that one too.
Can't touch it!!! Vocalists take note, THIS is the blueprint.
ich liebe euch, ihr ht eine Ahnung ,vielen Dank für
Wait I don't see a reaction for pmj All about the bass with Morgan James and Haley Reinhart. Is it true ??
Whoop! I see a bit of drool drizzling down from their mouths.
React to Call my maybe- PMJ feat Von Smith please
Recently Morgan ( and PMJ) did a cover of "Barbie girl" that while it might not impress as much vocally since there is only so much you can do with the song, is disturbing to watch. It was perfect as a commentary on the song and the whole idea of "Barbies" I'd love to hear your take on it.
Look at these guys rocking less than a minute in.
PMJ always slays.
Basically just Beavis & Butthead gawking at hot women in the Mystery Science Theatre Club 3000
Love that
