I have no doubt O'Connell wins the starting job. He showed so much growth game to game last year. A full offseason and preseason as the #1 will serve him well. He is intelligent, processes the field well, has a good arm and throws with good accuracy. Of the running backs, Zeus performed the best last year, it was not even close and that is why I was not upset to hear Jacobs was moving on. It is Zeus's time.

It would be unrealistic to think you will see any great jump in performance from him. I am not set on O'Connell being the guy but he is currently the Raiders best shot at a legit NFL starting QB. His rookie number through 11 games are better then Payton Mannings were his first 11 so there not as bad as the haters make them out to me. I like that he is a fighter....walks on to Purdue and becomes a starter after 2 years....to me it is 60-40 whether he makes but he has shown enough that deserves a shot and that is good enough until he is beaten out.

It's all about rotation and keeping our stars healthy and having a high motor late in the season/ SB runs. Plus, we have a few guys on short or expiring deals. Personally I'd only want Murphy II or Latu on the DL in the 1st. Mostly Murphy though with his DT position

Do you think the Raiders could look to possibly draft the Oregon C/G at 13 to start next to Munford? Seems like he could be a pretty good value if the price for interior linemen continue to rise. Also he adds more positional flexibility in case of injury as I've heard he can play T as well as C and G. If the Raiders could trade down to get him and add a pick that would be ideal.
I don't like hearing about them moving back. I think staying at 13 and getting the best player possible at that spot. Hopefully Penix!! However the best corner or o line guy sounds good too. I'm no expert so what do I know!
IMO, I believe they go CB at 13. Quinyon Mitchel, Terrian Arnold or Kool-Aid McKinstry in no specific order. We need a lock down CB going against those two other guys in our division. There’s a deep class of O lineman and I think they trade back in the back of the 1st to grab one the best available OL or vise versa. We go OL at 13 and trade back in the back of the 1st for the CB so we get that fifth year option on either the OL or the CB. Then if there’s a QB in the 3rd then take BPA at QB ? or go D line/LB and keep building in the trenches so we got depth..
My gut tells me Talafuaga orTerrion Arnold with the first pick, Bo Nix with the second pick and then who knows, Maybe a linebacker or interior lineman with the third as you can get some value there.

But you saw it in the Super Bowl. There is a big difference between a Brock Purdy and a Pat Mahomes. There just is and Purdy didn’t lose the game and he did his best to win the game. Our D Line would be nasty...but I agree, don't over strength a position at 13 (DT/EDGE/WR etc)..go to a bigger position of need! (QB, OL)
