I’ve been on Resolve for two years now and STILL this video managed to make me even more frothed about it. I learnt something new, thanks Sam 🙌🏻
I also enjoyed your video very much, thanks
Gives tips for faster editing, uploades three times a year 😉😛
hahahaha😂😂😂
Lmfao
You learm to die
Say everytime my grandpa
You learn new skill everyday
Because when you speed up the editing you can save that time to put into writing scripts and researching new projects. New content doesn’t come from the editing, it comes from the writing and research.
Editing should be the *SHORT* part of the process. If you have well organized ideas in pre production, then the filming and editing of footage should fall into place and almost “edit itself”. So this guy has mastered the editing so he doesn’t waste any time on projects he already has finished filming.
@@rolandcsuka1829 quality over quantity ask marvel and other films what happens when rush and take on more films they look and feel rushed. Just because he uploads 3 times a year doesn’t mean he doesn’t know how to knock out videos it just means he chooses what to upload over uploading anything and everything.
Sam, you're just a legend. The value you have brought to the filmmaking community is immeasurable. What a privilege to have access to even some of your experience and knowledge, especially through Kolder Creative. It's always crazy to me seeing some of my friends straight up rejecting custom keyboard shortcuts or the entirety of DaVinci Resolve (probably bc its "too much work to learn"). Maybe this video will convince them to give it another try :)
haha i agree
This video was super helpful! It's great how easy, fast and detailed you explain everything and I feel it is totally on point. Personally, I don't only learn new things from this video but the overall workflow and attention you bring to it is something you can feel and that alone motivates me a ton to become better and strive for what I want to express as a creator and filmmaker! Big thanks from my heart for your unwavering dedication as a pioneer for this community!
Thank you for this Sam! This has been something I should have learned when I first started editing. It's crazy how quick and efficient the editing process can be with these tips!
THESE ARE THE BEST TIPS FOR ANY FILMMAKER! Thank you Sam for saving our time! Quality of your videos always impresses me!
Excellent! I wasn't sure about switching to Resolve but with these two videos I'm fully convinced.
The mouse tip and the one is around minute 7 are my favorites, thanks a lot!!!!!
This has been one of the most helpful videos I have ever found on youtube, I have regularly come back to rewatch specific parts. Super to the point and informative, great work!
Hi Sam! That was such a helpful video. I loved how you kept it simple, so that even people that don't have an in-depth knowledge of editing - like me - can learn from. I have never thought about the idea of Virtual Desktops, which I will definitely start implementing. Loved also the tips about shortcuts! Will be changing them today.
Thank you!
I love how he put the course recommendation in the end instead of the beginning, and it made the video much more enjoyable, and convincing
This was so useful! Every tip was incredibly helpful, and not the same kinda tips you see in similar titled videos. Even the sponsored content and the plugins I found useful/ interesting and would want to invest in. The shortcuts are game changing 🙌🏽
Just wanted to let you know, I bought your course and it is absolutely phenomenal. Still working my way through it, but so far it's been well organized, thorough, and you're great at explaining everything. I was intimidated by Davinci Resolve, but you've made it much more manageable. Thanks so much!
this is good to hear
I want to join so bad but unfortunately, there’s a waitlist 😢
I find myself coming back to this video again and again. Great value, especially with the shortcut tips.
Omg some of these tips are genius, huge thanks for taking the time to make this! Super helpful
Just customised my keyboard shortcuts, so pumped about this, instead of moving all over the place on the keyboard.
You are too cool for school! Thanks!
literally I worked in a film production agency for one year and learned every tip
you mentioned!! so cool to have this knowledge and be efficient
Thanks for the tips Sam! Can't wait to follow these tips!
Holy moly. This video blew my mind. I have been doing everything the long/wrong way causing me great wrist strain. Thank you so much.
Great video as usual Sam! Love this type of content, keep it up king
Great tips Sam! We love watching your videos ! You're such an inspiration😍
Loved seeing your take on the optimal keyboard shortcuts.
This is pure gold. Saving it so I can always come back to it. Thank you Sam
Man! Straight to the point and complete breakdown. Thanks for this🤙🏼
Every time I get a notification Sam posted something new, I add it to my task list of things to do! I hope KC has some sort of sale this year for black friday/cyber monday/holiday because it's just outside of what I can spend... If not, then I'll keep saving up, as I would love to see what he has to say and what I can incorporate into my work.
Your keyboard shortcut tips are ❤🔥! Definitely using these going forward.
Awesome! Love tip 10! As an editor of only a couple years, I was happy to see that I knew a good majority of these tips! haha Another tip I recently discovered in Resolve is Ctrl+Shift+, or . which will just move a clip left or right in the track and swap places with what's next to it. This can probably be assigned to custom buttons to make it faster, but since I don't use it much, I'll probably just leave it.
This is the only video i have found that has truly helped me with my editing without just covering stuff thats already known, thank you!
It's interesting how I often to video editing at work and I didn't think about customizing the shortcuts. Always used the built in ones and you are right. They are not optimal! I greatly appreciate this information. Thanks a lot!
Also, for anyone who wanting to use the "Trim Mode" that he displayed in Resolve, the equivalent is the Slip Tool in Premiere.
Thank you!
Wow, that is definitely the most useful video editing tips we've seen! Shortcuts tips are simply brilliant! Thank you so much for sharing this! Now it's time to go back to editing :)
Absolutely fantastic. You go quick, and I appreciate that. This is jam packed full of pure gold
Glad to see you made the switch DV... proper editing and hard core color grading. Very interested in seeing you push fusion to the max. Keep up the great posts.
Thanks for your amazing videos! I've learned so much from your tips and tricks, and they've been incredibly helpful.
Incredible video quality! Your sound design is just awesome, I love your videos, keep it up!!!!!!
Wow these tips are so helpful! I'm gonna start implementing these into my workflow. Thanks for sharing!
I'm an amateur editor who has always loved film and has a knack for story and visual ideas (which I couldn't ever represent properly lol). I honestly think I've turned myself off editing from all the stress over the last 6+ years (occasional project, biting off more than I could chew; I don't have any on my account fyi). This video helped me feel a bit inspired again, vindicating my choice for DVR two years ago and teaching a few new tricks as well. If I get to a stage in my life where I make videos again, I'm going to do your course. Sounds like it'll answer my very particular questions and you have the expertise to get those visual effects results with nodes, or at least help me to know when and where to spend long amounts of time.
Absolutely Amazing Content Always!! Thank you for all of your videos and advice/tips they have helped me so much over the last few years I’ve been watching you they give me inspiration and so much more!! GodBless 🙏🏻 Happy New Year!!!!
Amazing video and tips Sam, thanks for sharing! Love your work 🌟🎬🎥
One of the best video tuts on film editing I've ever seen! Thank's man, you are great.
Such a good breakdown dude. Definitely need to toss a couple of these into my workflow
Started with Davinci Resolve 3 years ago, wayyyy before the hype, still using it to this day cause the updates on the program are getting better and better. I'm so glad that one of my idols is recommending this program. LISTEN TO THE 10TH POINT!
Always waiting video from you. Learn from all your videos. Super helpful ❤️🔥
Best Sam Kolder video so far for me. Thanks for this Sam!
Thought there will be some basic editing tips which every other youtuber teaches here but man this is just another level. Kold you legend❣👍
Never gonna forget the lessons tought by you kold!⚡
Dude these tips were amazing. That QWE method is so good. Thank you.
This video is worth tens of thousands of dollars in time saved. Thank you.
Thank you for sharing your tips this was a really well thoughout video, I feel like editing can be a time consuming activity and I enjoy seeing the ways you have made editing more efficient
Switched to DaVinci a couple of months ago and this is so useful! Thank you!
Literally saving my life right now! Thank you for this ❤
Thanks, Never watched you before and there were actually a couple of great tips I have never thought of. The double clicking the previous file name trick was cool, never knew that!! THANKS
Good morning Sam, I just recently switched to Davinci resolve from adobe premiere pro. I've been a premiere pro user since 2019 and have really enjoyed it. However I'm really finding a new love for DaVinci. I love the tips you showcased in this video and I look forward to more.
As a video editor for 10+ years, it's amazing how many of these discoveries have been similar to ones I've found/made to become a more productive editor.
This video just confirms what I was thinking over the past year.
I've done pretty much all of these tips.
Bought the Samsung Odyssey G9 49" curved monitor, I 16 programmable button mouse from Red Dragon.
Started using shortcut keys etc.
I've just switched to Davinci due to my Film Production course telling me that we're only allowed to use that software and then later on we're to learn Avid.
I agree on all of these tips, I couldn't ever go back to editing straight from my laptop trackpad, it's so mind numbingly slow.
Great video Mr, thanks for your input 👍
thanks kold... i really wanted this kind of tutorials. Great vid!
I have to say this, this video's thumbnail is the best one I've ever seen! Just so beautiful!
Just got started on editing and this is EXTREMELY HELPFUL
Absolute legend! Thanks for the shortcuts in the description!
I was just trying to find this video... had no idea where to look! So glad this got re-recommended now that I'm using DaVinci :D
Love those tips Sam! I noticed for myself how far I've gotten with making things more efficient throughout the years, but some of these I still haven't implemented.
Omg, thank you for telling about the short cuts, ive just started learning video editing (in dav Vinci) and the blade, arrow, ripple was driving me nuts!
Super Sam! Everything is clear and explained in detail, thanks for the interesting, instructive and beautiful video!)
Thank you for sharing these tips with us 🙏🏽
You're killing it! Can't wait for more.
Thanks for all this! I'm thinking about how to implement these things for myself.
Mind blown over and over again..
Sam... This video is GOLD and every editor should watch it. Thank you
Great tips! Thanks for sharing your insights!
Thanks a lot for sharing these tips Sam! :)
These are great tip glad they are included in my work flow 🎥🎬💪🏽 Thank you for this video
Doing a great online course on DaVinci Resolve. I absolutely love this software! Learning a lot in the last couple of days.
I'm Learning your KC Divinchi course it's just amazing bro, the editing tips, tricks also the shortcut pdf you provided with lots of shortocuts. ✌
7:30 Wow, never thought of it, feels so natural. Gonna start assigning and using them.
thanks for sharing! keyboards shortcuts are definitely helpful!
Straight gold content as always mate! I will definitely make the switch to DaVinci!
Spectacular production quality! Keep it up!
QWE is dope! I’ve been using them on separate keys but this setup is much more ergonomic
Those Macro Shots are just Surreal!
I remember telling my wife a few years ago that "If Sam ever put out a course on film and editing, I would jump at the chance". I'm now a student in the KC Community and its phenomenal. Hearing the thought process and seeing the workflow from someone who is clearly obsessed with an insanely high attention to detail, style and efficiency just blows my mind that we live in such a cool time that we get to do that. I'm so grateful to really learn from the LEGEND. The most amazing thing is this is a full-on course on how to edit using Davinci Resolve which is something I've wanted to learn how to use, but didn't know where to start. Its pretty rad to see how we can add so much more depth to our story. The learning changes your view of reality in an instant. It changes what you think is possible in editing and story telling. What really got me actually pretty stoked and something I never thought I would like- was the sound editing and design. Because of Sam's course, I look at film and music differently now. I get to "hear" what a discerning ear looks for through his walk-throughs. See what makes an epic film really stand out from the legend himself, it will open your mind in ways its never thought of before. Sam takes it to another level.
🤣
Dickriding like crazy
@1:14 What a beautiful frame!! And what a workspace!!! WOW!!! Thanks for the video!
Your outstanding filmmaking and editing stage 🤘🏻
Thanks for sharing with us .
107% researching and doing a few more film gigs to buy some hard drives!! Thank you for sharing what you use, I’ve been looking for ways to improve my workflow! ✌🏽😄
Thanks! Really made my editing flowier
Really helpful tips, thanks brother
Came back to watch this again after finally buying my first macbook and go into editing with davinci. Great tips!
This is amazing!! I didn’t think I needed this wow!! Definitely subscribing
Incredibly insightful and helpful. Thank you!
Wow another Kold video!
Woah thank you for this video! It's been so useful for me
Subscribed! Thanks bro! 1st time to watch how shortcuts should be placed on a Video editing App! Its just Gold! Kudooos! More videos like this!
Daaaaamn Sam! Productivity gonna go through the ceiling.
nice tips kold thank you so much
I love having mouse buttons for CTRL and Alt, really adds speed to custom shortcuts with CTRL and alt . Great tips here even though i use AP, starting to get intrigued about using DR. Larry
I love the tip about setting mouse buttons to change desktops. I use Windows and I've been using desktop for a couple of years but I never thought to set up my Logitech M510's thumb buttons to switch between desktops. Brilliant! Those buttons were useless and thus unused before but not now!!
Awesome tips. Thank you!
That included some helpful tipps I didn't know yet, thanks! Absolutely love DaVinci, best decision to switch from Premiere 👍
Trim mode is huge. Thank you for your wisdom dude!
That you for these helpful tips. My Workflow will improve.
Gaming mouse was the eye opener for me... Helps that my mouse needs replacing. Going to join the course to learn Davinvi. I'm a complete beginner!
Im diving deep into Resolve the QWE are going to help so much.
When you give such great advice it's so much easier to tolerate a plug for your courses. I feel like I have to introduce shortcuts one by one in order to remember them though 😅 Or just need to edit more... It's probably the latter
