Bending Acoustic Guitar Sides | Using my Homemade Side Bender

In this episode of acoustic guitar build #2, I'll be bending the Ambrosia Maple sides. I'll also be making a template for the sides, and gluing the neck and tail blocks in place. Then I'll begin to radius the sides and practice my bus driving. The side bender worked awesome.

Nice work man. Glad the bender you made worked out! Bending the sides is nerveracking. When you take it out of the foil and don’t see cracks is a great feeling, though!

I've seen numerous videos on side bending but they never get around to showing how they make sure they have the waist lined up properly.

not sure how important it is to stay centered when driving the bus, but you could consider adding a hole/center and an additional brace through the center, and then use a threaded insert as a pivot point? again may not be worth the squeeze but could add to your alignment enhancements.
