    It's a shame that Renault decided not to do a brand new Clio V6 anymore. :'(

      Farhan Ahmad Tajuddin I believe it's a good thing, these generations price is skyrocketing and if they did a new one be sure the would have put a stupid automatic gearbox on it.

      This version is the best though. It helps that Porsche helped them build it.

    Style 6/10???? You mad????

    • @Yautah
      @Yautah Před 5 lety

      I agree with everything they say. It's about the style of the drift. It's not very good because of the poor steering lock the car can't be thrown around, it has to stay more or less aligned with the direction of the drift, so it doesn't look as good.
      Love the car tho.

    A mid-engined car with short wheelbase, only thing that could make it worse for drifting at that point is AWD lol. Good effort tho, love this car. Reminds me of the good old times. :)

    it's so difficult to drift cuz it has very little steer angle.

    • @immmelting
      @immmelting Před 7 lety +23

      Also short wheelbase does not help things.

    • @cibimbox9195

      Didn't mentioned cuz people drifts miatas with similar wheel base but yes it doesn't help at all :)

      Phase I is FWD? Just guessing

      @gianlucaantoniocamilleri1966 Před 5 lety +6

      @@viligamesbg6971 The chassis balance was different in the Phase 1. Its much more difficuilt to drive because one has to remember that this road car was developped from its track car version, not vice versa (as usual). Now, due to having that 3.0L lump behind the front seats, the center of gravity is there. Though one has to also remember, that the chassis is simply a normal Clio RS 172 modified to be mid-engined. So, what did the mad guys at Renault Sport do? Removed the 2.0L 16V from the front, and threw a plastic cover instead. This made this monster suffer from understeer, especially the Phase 1. Nicknamed the widow-maker, it didn't allow for a slight error whilst grabbing it by the horns. When the Phase 2 arrived, RS reviewed this. This time, Porsche stepped in to help. The chassis was balanced a bit better. Though, this couldn't let anyone relax, as the car remained one hell of a thing to handle, just like its predecessor, and its daddy, the R5 Turbo 2 Maxi.

      @@gianlucaantoniocamilleri1966 Porsche? It was TWR form Sweden mate.

    • @melconify
      @melconify Před 3 lety

      @@kebabcek TWR fabricated the (street version) of the phase 1. The phase 2 was indeed refined with help from Porsche. Gianluca exaggerates a little bit. Yes the handling of the phase 1 was difficult especially in the wet. However these cars had insane amounts of grip, so if you arrive at the point where it snaps you were already driving at ridiculous high cornering speeds far beyond what's a legal speed on the road. So in short, you can enjoy these cars - both phase 1 and 2 - very well as long as your not driving on the edge. And to be fair, these drive more like a GT than a true sports car. You can make long road trips in them without any issue or discomfort. The engine noise right behind your back is what's most addictive about them. You just keep flooring it, slowing down and start over all again :-). (I unfortunately don't own one but do have driven many km's in them).

      @@melconify Way my research says Porsche tuned the engine, other suspension and chassis stuff was "stolen" ideas from Porsche. Not my first hand info, I just read about them.
