Them & incubus are so good at creating musical textures.
IKR
There will never be another 311 or incubus
agreed
Where is charles lee?
What do you mean by musical textures?
2024! Raise your hands:)
Don't start that please.
Still a fan since the 90s!
You don't realize how tight 311 really is as a band until you try covering this simple-sounding song. You need to be very precise with the drums, and you need to fight the urge to rush on the bass with all the stops it has. Their precision is so underrated.
No joke! Their playing together is tight as an 80 year old nun!
Spot on mate. Absolutely spot on.
Lol it’s not hard man
@@tmoss89 lol it's not the hardest thing, but it's definitely one of those deceptively easy-sounding songs but tricky to pull off if you're not prepared
@Joe Beef Hash everyone knows someone who can play something but that wasn't the point.
Those harmony vocals. That guy in the back is so vital to their success. He raps, and can peg the perfect harmony note. Love this.
ikr!
S.A. ain’t no joke. That guy’s a legend.
311 is the chillest band ever
No.....rebelution or soja
Rebelution is awesome. Don’t forget slightly stoopid and chon too
The illest too 😎
Yeah AND u are one bitch more
Bob Marley and the Wailers
Wow they've been pushing the same lineup since 92. Props to the staying power
when no big egos among them band members.
They've been together since their highschool years
I swear
Brothers
wow I never knew that! that shows how much they genuinely love each other
I think this is their best live performance of Amber I've heard
thiefswiller I agree. Fantastic sound.
It sounds amazing
indeed
Mixed and performed very well!
I think this is their best performance of Amber I've heard
Still can't get over how amazing they sound live.
it's Guitar Center, that's almost automatic
311 and Rancid are by far the two best sounding live bands I've ever heard. So crisp and clean.
311, sublime, sugarray, spin doctor, crazy town.
summer, beach, and cold beer.
thanks all
Now I'm 42. And re-found this song and the love of my life.
Now I find this piece the most underrated and gorgeous of all time.
Can't stop listening and thinking about my girl.
Thank you!
That's so funny. When pursuing my wife, I'd play this song a lot, among others. And the line, "Nothing good comes easily, sometimes you've got to fight." I fought, and now I'm married. And of course, still fighting for the woman I love.
that bass is sick, his playing is absurdly good
Lol. That's a basic bass line. Maybe look up Justin Chancellor from TOOL or maybe Billy Sheehan FFS
@@JeffHuntsinger bro try to play this song on Fretless bass also
@@joshuaduran3167 I have a fretless bass... BFD
@@JeffHuntsinger complexity is not the only determining factor when it comes to the quality of a bassline or a bassist. Groove is an equally important part, a bass player who can slap or shred all day but has no idea how to groove is much worse than a bassist who can just groove in a pocket.
Tl;dr, just because this bass part is basic doesn’t mean it’s not great. Serves the song immaculately. This and tool are two completely different vibes, it doesn’t do to compare them
I do agree that the bass is something in this live performace 🤘
One of the most underrated band ever
1:32 This solo is beyond perfection! Dude, it gives me chills every time...
One of the most beautiful solos made for sure
*Gotta love that incredible bass tone.*
P-Nut is such a beast bassist
fr man
This song goes to the people with golden souls. Love you my friends!
+Xochilt Huerta Cadena back at you
This song never gets old
*I love being a 90's teen. The energy in the air was electric and the talent was incredible.*
_Peace and love to everyone from Houston, TX._
BizWiz 1. This song is from 2001.
2. The 90's were a pretty bad decade notorious for being talentless.
Really? The rap was real, the rock was real. Everything today is manufactured overly produced garbage.
Um the 90's was the same with overly prouced garbage mainstreams music has been like that since the late 60's bud..
Great time to be young! Great music n great times. Definitely a great decade
311 broke out in the 90s, I think that's what they meant. Get ur stick outta your ass
God damn I feel like I just opened a time machine to the 90’s.
will never going to have another rege Soul masterpiece like this I feel all of his emotions it's so incredible and he's dancing with the air that comes from his lungs
Such a beautiful sounding band🤘💖
Yet hard to find this band because it's just 3 numbers 🤦🏼♂️
I was so excited to see this!! 311 brings me back to my teenage years!!
Dana Junkin I know! Brings me back to the Xanga & early MySpace days...
one of the best songs ever created.
Happy 51st birthday Guitar player, Nicholas Lofton Hexum April 12, 1970. Madison, Wisconsin. Played in the Jazz band in a Nebraska high school. And made it big. Lesson learned. Big things come from small beginnings.
I love this song brings me back when my son was younger and we would just listen to this song. Miss those days.
This band's work is a perfect example of every sound serving the song.
I saw these guys live recently. I was blown away how awesome they still are. Nick Hexum almost 50 and still rocks as good as 97. 311 is the shiz
The sound is incredible!
It's a real chill song. After one would sit and listen to this band's sound, Its hard to believe these guys are from Omaha, Nebraska.
We have a pretty diverse local music scene actually. One of the best in the country. People still find that hard to believe lol.
Omaha stylee ya didn't think there was one
Nick and SA's harmonic vocal is priceless!
One of those most beautiful songs ever made, what a performance. I can watch this endlessly. Thank you 311 for such a masterpiece.
same! btw I love your Kurt Cobain pfp
I love you 311 im from Thailand
such an amazing song and performance. that guitar is so hypnotic, and his voice is stellar
I peed in my pants when I realized this is live. Hats off for the quality
Let's all wish a #happybirthday to Nick Hexum of 311! Celebrate w/this performance of "Amber" from #GCSessions
Happy Birthday
#selamatulangtahun
The crazy thing is, they really are this good live. I love you, 311 ♥
One of the greatest songs ever
The bass guitar and drums here are amazing.
excellent guitar player damn, put some headphones on. Also congrants to the engineer who mixed this wow...drumsssssss
😢😢 you bring me back in my teenage again
I can hear this all day
That sweeet. Sound. Of. Amber. Masterpiece
the bass tone to die for
When this song started playing on the radio in 2001 I thought it was great but I also hated it, at that time I was going through my worst moment of drug addiction and when I heard it it made me imagine a future without addiction and being happy, that's why i hated this song because i truly believed that this future that i imagined would never happen, 20 years later i can listen and enjoy this song because i'm finally finding some peace in my life after my addiction and now i strongly believe that moment of happiness will come soon.
Masterpiece 🙌 just wow. Still like the first time hearing it. Timeless
I was there with this band since the beginning.. Cheers to the Gen X peeps.. Boom
WOW what an incredible performance, jaw dropping. The sound guy is on point too. Probably unreal acoustics in the room.
Not blowing up the charts much anymore, but continue to blow up any room they are in. as you can hear. 311 🤘
One of the tightest bands still going strong! I would love to see them someday.
I love that bass!!!
Excelente. Soy de Venezuela. Y esta canción esta en mi Top 5 de Canciones favoritas .
Te amo chiquita
Wow! Great tune. This song moves!. The sound!!! It's like an early 1980's English Romantic era vocals mixed with 90's Ska technique, tied together with a mature sophistication. Sweet!
It has an island vibe mon !🌴
They still sound so good after all these years...if not better!
i love that amazing blue guitar
Mike Konitshek Paul Reed Smith right ?
husker1747 as much as I adore 311, I just don't see them being RRHF material.
This song takes me back to the beach bar in Jamaica , mon , whith that smooth island vibe it has !🌴🌴🌴😎🌴🌴🌴
This is just amazing. After all these years they still have it. Truly a beatiful song.
Amazing performance! ❤
This performance is so smooth as ever way back from the 90s greatest hits..
This song is always magic. Reminds me of my childhood. The "musicians" today need to learn how to make music from some real g's like the guys in 311
"Music today is terrible " lmao what do y'all listen to ?? The god damn radio ?? Music is doing well today , I'm assuming this genre of music is trash now ? If that's the case I'll still have to disagree when there's bands such as blonder , alvaays , Banes world , summer salt , wolf Alice , knox fortune and many more . All it takes is for you to search for it , and other genres of music are doing well , hip hop has amazing artist besides these new "rappers" who really can't make a good song without the use of an 808 .
Sung Yul Taylor of the mourning for the mourning of the mourning for the mourning of the mourning for the mourning of the mourning for the mourning of the
Carlos De Leon you just proved his point.
I absolutely love the subtle changes they slipped in this live version. LONG time 311 fan.
the band as a whole is so tight and on it holy shit
Just delivered my baby girl on 3 11 2021, and gave her name amber😊
my best song♥
That fretless bass = INSTANT LIKE @_@
Man, I love these guys. I remember hearing them at my brother's for the first time on my first leave from the Army. And Amber came out right before we deployed to Iraq. We listened to it all the time.
I hadn’t realized how much I loved 311 till it came time to have my kid listen to music and it’s like “oh shit, all of this is super ight for young ears”
3:00 magical riff
Such a great live performance... Love it... 😊😊😊
Woo... amber is the color of the energy....
Excellent!
These guys are timeless.
Smoooooth .... Island vibe 🌴🌴🌴
Thanks for sharing 😎
I had the pleasure to see 311 in Virginia; they were fucking great
Happy 311 day everyone
The bass it's amazing!
the sound is just AWESOME!!!
311 is designer luxury music.
2021! never gets old!
bass and vocals were faultless. One of the best songs
These guys sound awesome in a live session even after all these years. Gotta give them props.
Awesome band back then and they still sound amazing...
Rodrigo Contreras I mean, it was only 13 years after the album came out.
They felt that in their soul
best song of all time.

bad ass guitars sound so goood the best song everrr
I think the first time I heard 311 was in the mid 90's. Im a Marley fan, sublime...Lauren hill. when im stressed, this always calmed me I need more.
this piece and incubus' are you in will always be my top fave. ❤️
His voice has a psychedelic effect.
Shit sounds so good it gives me the chills and goosebumps..
Those drums sound crispy!! YUMMY!!! :) :) :)
I just can't play this loud enough. Goosebumps all over.
Brainstorm, take me away from the norm'
I've got to tell you something
This phenomenon, I had to put it in a song
And it goes like
Whoa, amber is the color of your energy
Whoa, shades of gold display naturally
You want to know what brings me here
You glide through my head, blind to fear
And I know I
Whoa, amber is the color of your energy
Whoa, shades of gold display naturally
Whoa, amber is the color of your energy
Whoa, shades of gold display naturally
You live too far away
Your voice rings like a bell anyway
Don't give up your independence
Unless it feels alright
Nothing good comes easily
Sometimes you've got to fight
Whoa, amber is the color of your energy
Whoa, shades of gold display naturally
Lost a thousand ships in my heart so easy
Still it's fine from afar
And you know that
Whoa
Brainstorm
Take me away from the norm'
Whoa
I've got to tell you something
Wow this sounds better than the record! Great job 311!
Superb performance.
This is one of those songs where you say "thank the Lord for this gift, and this band!"
this beats the CD version
Nah
@@BryanWinssss I would say the guitar intro has a better tone than the studio version, but it ends there for me.
@@oldcat7 agreed.
Vocals seem too low
Serious
this music when u hear u are floating in the air full of icecream.....so cool!
All of their songs are part of the soundtrack to my youth.
Love the "nation" part. That sent this tune into another stratosphere.
Yep, Love the Mu-tron. Smooth delay as well. Looks like mit is using his Maxon delay at the end there, and I think that is a nova delay next to that. Diamond cabs, Spitfire heads, He has changed his pedalboard a bit as of late. So excited that he is bringing out the Uberschall for this tour.
thank you
Reggae just gives a pure vive man.
How was that live? My sense of hearing refuse to trust this! 311 is the true connoisseur of live music
