  • Wow. This video was really an emotional rollercoaster. NYC... we're back!! Thank you so much again to everyone who watches my videos and supports my channel.
    I do want to reiterate that all the opinions in this video are mine alone. I absolutely love this job and am thankful that my company has so many base options to choose from. Also, I am in no way hating on the city of Charlotte. I had a ton of fun living there and will be visiting for years to come. Thank you for your understanding!

    Your transparency is so refreshing. The job is very glamorized but it is extremely hard. I’m so happy you are putting yourself and your happiness first. Best of luck girl

    I feel this. I share the same tears. The waves of loving the job and waves of being miserable.

    Congratulations on your forward momentum. I just got off probation at ORD. Your seniority @ LGA rocks! Better seniority and better trips for you. Way to go. ✈️✈️✈️

    I graduated with Delta in September. I quit in November. Being a FA was my literal dream job for yearsss. I thought I would absolutely love it. And I did love small parts of it. But it completely changed my life. It was like my whole life revolved around the job (because it honestly did)😅 I’m so glad I went for it but so glad to be done. I commend you and all other flight attendants out there because people don’t truly understand how hard it is. Sending positivity your way and just always remember to do what’s best for you and what will make you the happiest!💫

      Question… do you have to learn all the international airport codes?? Do work international trips??

      Thank you Nikki! I'm sorry it did not work out for you in this industry, but you are brave for giving it a shot. Wish you all the best with your future endeavors!

    I’m glad you’re going back to where you’re happiest!! I feel you completely on the lifestyle change and that it’s a hard adjustment, but something that helps me a lot is having other flight attendants to turn to when I need guidance, and you’ve helped me so much and I’m so grateful. I also got strep recently and had to go to the hospital. It sucked so I feel your pain, but i’m glad you’re back to feeling better! I can’t wait to see your future trips being based in NYC

      Hey Taylor!! Yes, it really is important to turn to your flight attendant community as no one will understand this job better than your coworkers. I'm so glad you're feeling better after your run in with strep! It seems like you've been loving your base and I'm so happy for you 🥰

    Just starting to watch this video. Briner, please post the other two videos. The ones you think are confusing because they are out of order. I am sure people will enjoy those two vlogs very much.

    This broke my heart a bit because you’re one of the few positive ones and have been so optimistic about the process. Not denying its challenges but maintaining how blessed you still are. I’m currently in the process and would have to possibly migrate as I live in the Caribbean so I’ve been looking at your videos to stay positive. To see you cry kinda shattered me and back to questioning if this would work for me

    • @brinersealey
      @brinersealey  Před 7 měsíci

      I have met a couple of flight attendants from the Caribbean, and while the commute can be difficult, they still are able to go home and see their family often. Having a crash pad would be beneficial to you so that you'll have somewhere to stay in base when you can't make it home! Good luck and let me know if you have any questions!

      Hi Josephine! There are definitely pros and cons to being a flight attendant. As well as good and bad days. I hope even though you did not end up in this career, that you found happiness in another profession. Thank you 🙂

    Anyone who applies for the FA postion has to realize it is not a routine job. You are going to be working weekends and holidays and your working hours are going to be all over the map. But the job has tremendous benefits also and lots of flexibility. you are not locked into a 9a-5p Monday-Friday lifestyle. That is what I loved about it. I was someone who never liked working 9a-5p so this job was perfect for me.

    How does commuting on reserve work? Do you have a crash pad in New York?

    • @brinersealey
      @brinersealey  Před 7 měsíci

      Commuting on reserve can be complicated. I have more videos coming out soon that talk more about it, but it takes a lot of strategizing especially if you don't have a crash pad. I do not have a crash pad in New York currently, but I did have somewhere to stay when I was based there as a new hire.

      I was lucky enough to hold the days off that I requested, including Thanksgiving. I worked all 3 day trips with no more than 2 legs each day!

    If i would go this lifestyle i rather go the hard way and become a Pilot, God those 1500 hours of flight are painful. Is funny that you might have a PhD from Stanford and still you need to have to go by the hrs of flight. It sucks that flight attendant makes such little, "the per diem rate" should be replaced with minimum wage of the State your base is.
