Go to Settings
Select display off
Hold menu button and bottom of screen for 5 seconds
Still hold menu button and hold top right of screen until service settings appears
Select hands free module
Select unlock
Select yes

Just purchased a 2015 ASX and the handsfree was locked. Tried different things but couldn't get it unlocked. Then i came across this video and tried it and now have access to all handsfree functions. Thankyou so much.
I own a 2015 Mitsubishi Challenger. The radio handsfree was locked. Your video and simply instructions were easy to follow and I was able to unlock system without difficulty. Thanks.

You are a legend! i can't connect my phone to car via bluetooth like a year plus. The dealership ask me to left my car like a month in their shop just to check the bluetooth crap n im not doing that because its my daily drive car. Now i can simply connect to my phone after clicking the unlock button. Thank you my man!
This is really working, my 2yr old son locked my mitsubishi asx 2014 radio. First day when I try this, it didn't work. I tried it after a week and I managed to unlock it, now it working fine. This really helped me

For a Mitsubishi Outlander 2014 I used the following method: press the ‘Settings’ and ‘Map’ buttons simultaneously for a few seconds untill you get a second menu with the option ‘Hands free module’, select it and the system will guide you through to unlock the system. Hope it helps.
I have a 2017 lancer and I’m locked out of both Bluetooth and hands free system.
@@MrEspy1987 I found out by pressing several combinations of 2 buttons simultaneously (like 'Media' + 'Clock' or 'Radio'+ Home' for instance) and hold them for a few seconds, sometimes there are hidden options that pop up on screen like the 'Hands Free Module'

I got to the second menu easily enough but the unlock button was blacked out. At this point it looked like a list cause. But if you wait a few seconds it will light up and you can then press unlock. Thanks for getting me to second stage. Hope this might help others get passed to the next stage.

What if my touch screen needs calibrated? Cant press the clock bc it hits the next button..even if i use a pen to touch the very possible top of screen
Ben - I'm not sure you can help. My bluetooth and USB connections have been working fine for the past 6 years and all of a sudden the bluetooth and USB connections have disappeared from the screen. Do you have any advice that might help? I have a Mitsubishi Outlander 2013 ZJ
Hi Linda, if it is the factory option for this car, behind the headunit there will be a small box secured which is the Bluetooth module. You'll need to diagnose whether there is a loose connection to the head unit, faulty wiring or faulty Bluetooth module. If you are confident trying to do it yourself and have a multimeter handy, you should be able to do process of elimination to find the culprit.

@@bittern56 Did you ever find the issue with your Bluetooth disappearing from your screen? My girlfriends car has the same problem after having her car's battery changed.
Interesting problem... It really must be something faulty with the unit Ben has described coming loose or being defective.

It took me a few times to realize you need to keep the Menu button pressed while you touch the clock. Got it to work, thanks again.
I wish this worked for me but for some reason the bottom left and top left of my touchscreen on my handsfree system are unresponsive :D and the previous owner did not pass alone the passcode to unlock the handsfree unit when they sold it to the dealership I just bought it from XD GG me. Guess I have to either take it to a Mitsubishi dealership and have them reset it, or buy a new radio unit
My hands free module is greyed out 😢 is there any solution?

@@beningledew7899 thanks mate, there is showing only "error" option. Where have to be shown unlock option. After all process at last there have to be shown unlock option but there is an error option. That is not a error code. Please if you can help me. I was already in system setting display.

Hi, I'm in a 2013 Mitsubishi ASX. The centre console has pretty mu h the exact same interface as the one in the video, but for some reason, this trick won't work. I've been as accurate as I can be, but I won't get that menu once I touch the clock part of the menu. Is there a seperate trick I'm missing here? Thank you.

Sounds to me like your GPS is over riding your clock settings which can be a pain if you own a Japanese import with Japanese maps onboard...Turn off the GPS clock features that has helped me out in past cars Ive owned.
What if you don't have a touch screen factory system? Mine is 2014 Sport and the radio does NOT look like that. I have had this car three years and can not get the hands-free unlocked. It's really starting to irritate me.

my 2013 is not touch screen and this doesn't help us. :( have had for six years and never been able to use it. this sucks
