    I had a stupid story telling bit about I knew an opener for me that took a thc weed edible before getting on stage. And he was having a panic attack and was scared that the audience were his friends staring at him coming to collect money he owed and the spotlight was police up in the rafters wanting to arrest him. But the premise was the audience would think he was pretending and it was all part of his act the way he was freaking out and would keep applauding him through his terrible high expeirence.

    So I could make a joke about my pregnant wife like - she tells me she wants an abortion but I tell her there’s a hanger shortage ? Maybe not as clever as the gas joke but I’m new at this 🤷🏼‍♂️

    • @HotBreathPod
      @HotBreathPod  Před 3 lety +1

      Pick your target word in your setup. In this case you have chosen "abortion". Now write out all the different meanings, interpretation of abortion as a word and as a situation.
      In this case you chose abortion "the home remedy way"
      I think this works technically but the audience won't buy it because a "hanger shortage" is not a thing.
      Write out 10 more interpretations and see if you can find something that is a little but more true.
      Remember for exaggeration "Bend, don't break""

    • @herseem
      @herseem Před 2 lety +1

      That's actually quite funny, but the comedy word is 'hanger'. I would put 'hanger' at the end. Eg, "...but I tell her she can't - there's a shortage of coat hangers". But you could add a bit about getting some more socks and waiting until one of them turns into a coat hanger.
