My favorites just happen to be the masters who were around years ago; they're also my favorite musical teachers. @ediblehatred simple progressions and bad songs?? look at the biggest hits in history, the most famous folk songs etc, and its almost always 3 chords, 4 or 5 at the most. An F#m13sus9 just doesnt connect with everyone!
