In this episode Ben and Myself make our way up to Finch Hatton Gorge, located about an hours drive from Mackay in Queensland Australia. This is something we have been planning to do for a while. When we both picked up a couple new open cell wetsuits we figured the nice cool rainforest water would be a good place to test them out! Being a popular tourist destination there was always a chance to find some lost treasure up that way as well.

Freediving a WATERFALL | Lost Treasure | Finch Hatton Gorge Mackay QLD - Sport
Spent many a weekend enjoying the local waterhole. Great vid guys.
It is a great spot, thanks for checking my channel out 🍻
It is a length of Railway line/ track in the first Waterfall, washed down from Calistemon Cascades Years ago.
Yeah interesting. I also heard there was a board walk at the water crossing to access The Wheel of Fire Cascades that was washed down stream a few years back.
You're a bloody champion mate and an absolute amazing advocate for our sport, don't ever stop. 🤙
Thanks very much for the kinds words mate. It means a lot 🍻
I'm pretty sure that boardwalk got washed away in one of the last bad cyclones we had. The one before Debbie I think?
I recon there would be some more of it down stream hey. I couldn’t really remember the old set up/platform, It’s been a few years since I’ve been up there.
I lost my watch there
Jumping off the rocks
lol
Like the one in the vid or different?
Beautiful video. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks for the kind words. I’m glad you enjoyed it!
awesome video!!!
Thanks very much🍻
Brooo, nice mix up. Trust me throw more of that shit in. Love watching the growth. From 300 UG to 10m underwater what can’t you achieve. 🍻
Thanks for checking it out mate 🍻
Always love to free drive that spot and always on the lookout for the missus earring 😅
I really thought we might find more stuff haha. Definitely not the first or last people to dive it that’s for sure.
Cool ep man. Would love to explore the Mackay region!
Thanks very much mate. Plenty to explore and do around here!
I free dove it back in December to recover my gopro. Really cool spot
Awesome, any trouble finding it again?
I was just up there, from gladdy, such a magic spot 👌 I'd love to get out for a spear next time looks like you have some good spots
Nice one. Looks like you have some magic spots down that way as well!
I bet getting wet after hiking in your suits to wheel of fire would of been refreshing
So good mate. Good to hear from you, hope your well 🍻
Gold mate.
Thanks for checking this one out 🤿
Have you ever done a dive at cedar creek falls up near Cannavale
I haven’t yet no. But it is on the list as possible spots to have a look at!
The watch is a Swatch / Omega Moonswatch - worth a couple of $hundred 👏🏼
It’s still ticking away as well!
@@ExhaleAdventuresYou kept it? Mate, that's a criminal offence in Queensland. If you find valuables you have to hand them into the police. If you don't, it's considered theft.
That’s not any old watch that an Omega moon Swatch, it’s a collaboration between Swatch and Omega based off of the Omega Speedmaster. I bet there’s someone that’s very upset that they lost it.
Yeah right. I’ll look into it. It’s currently sitting at home not working unfortunately.
Do you use any lubricant to get the open cell wetsuits on? Or any tips to get them on easier because I’m always struggling and I even use slippy wetsuit lubricant and I still struggle
I’ve been using a few squirts of baby soap and some water into the suit. I kind of squeeze and seal the opening off and slosh it around so it coats all the inside. Slides right on.
Nice. What fins do you use?
They are DiveR Carbons mate, soft. Had them for years, covered in scratches and still going strong. I can’t recommend them enough!
@ExhaleAdventures sweet. I'm looking for some new ones. I have DIVER R medium composites atm. Looking at C4 carbon, penetrator T700, cressi carbon gara turbo or diver r. Have you only used diver r? What are your foot pockets? Are they real light on your feet? Just want something real light comfy and soft.
@@80sShred Cetma S-Wing footpockets are an amazing footpocket!
@@tweedkrillcatchers Are they comfortable? I am using cressi ones atm and they are soft and very comfortable
@@80sShred extremely
Where da boat?
It’s here ready to rock and roll for the next weather window!
