      @inajar7947 Před 3 lety

@@joshehman2010 For sure, my playgroup has a great Marisi deck and I've piloted it a couple times.
I don't view Jared as a monarchy commander, though. It's definitely an aspect of it, but the rest of Jared's abilities are more interesting to me. Monarchy is just the means by which you get the damage prevention on Jared.
Some of the design space I find really interesting with Jared:
-Damage-based boardwipes. Blasphemous Act, Earthuake/earthquake varients, Anger of the Gods all seem fun. Throw in Firesong and Sunspeaker and Tamanoa for extra spice. (Especially Tamanoa. How many decks use THAT card these days?)
Also fun are things like Nomads En-Kor, Spitemare, Boros Reckoner to redirect your damage spells to an opponent or even Jared himself. Hornet's Nest and Phytohydra to gain even more benefit from all the damage. By boardwiping so much you make it easier to retain the monarchy, and keep the board clear of blockers when you hit with Jared. Add in some indestructibility to keep your creatures (Avacyn, Selfless Spirit, Dauntless Escort) or just don't run many creatures and focus on Voltroning Jared up and running things like Ghostly prison to stop the clapback.
-Fight. Also an interesting angle, besides the plethora of fight spells we can also enjoy Neyith of the Dire Hunt, Foe-Razer Regent, and a personal favorite, Grothama, All-Devouring. 5 mana, draw a bunch of cards, put 10 counters on Jared? Yes please.
-Lure. Throw a Nemesis Mask in. Noble Quarry. Armed//Dangerous. Revenge of the Hunted. Make your opponents block Jared with all their creatures and laaaaaaugh.
-A few goodies like Inquiisitor's Flail. The MDFC that's basically Fling. Maybe an aura/equipment package, though I haven't fully explored that angle yet.
There's just so much potential here, it's a GREAT deck and I'm excited to get deep into brewing.
Marisi is a great deck too, I just view it as wholly separate from Jared. Two different styles of deck, that both happen to get good use out of the monarchy.

That seems pretty decent to me. Nevinyrral, Urbog Tyrant is definitely an interesting card to build around imo. There’s some interesting ways to go about him: Boardwipe tribal, Zombie tribal (maybe potentially stuck in the 99 of Varina, Lich Queen decks?), superfriends, tokens, or even aristocrats perhaps. His mana cost also makes him a pretty balanced as well.

@@austinward9741 you still have 3 opponents, but it is super SUPER easy to get enough cards into your graveyard. A couple ways are all the cantrips you run in cedh. You will have a lot of instants and sorceries in there. Also, you run every possible fetch you can in this deck for two reasons. One, getting them in your graveyard is really good, and two, you need all your lands to have different names because of tainted pact. Also, one of the combos in the deck involves Emry, and she mills you as well. There are also some self mill combos and engines. I built this deck and ive played some games with it, and it plays well against the top tier decks in the format. I would say its probably tier 1.5 not quite top tier, but its up there for sure.

I've already got a deck built for Nev, and I gotta say I didn't think of the superfriends archetype when I first saw him spoiled.
After seeing his card spoiled, I watched some videos about the Lore of Nev and found out that his disk was used as an insurance policy for if his home plane was attacked, which it was in the lore, but I took that aspect of his death trigger and interpreted it as just an insurance policy, not the main strategy.
With that in mind, I went ahead and have made my very first aristocrats deck in Esper, made to use his ETB trigger to great effect by playing Anointed Procession, Panharmonicon, Felidar Guardian, and lots of token makers, synergies, sac outlets, and other death/ETB synergies as well. And if it all goes wrong, then I can sac Nev and blow up the board.

Lathiel + Spike Feeder. The latter doubles the life gained from counters removed from him, so one cycle around the table makes your board get way out of hand.

Your opponents don’t see a sac outlet on board so they think they’re safe, then on the end step you can flash out Elder-Deep Fiend with its Emerge cost, saccing Nev. if you can then get him back at instant speed with one of the spells they mentioned, you now get Nev, a bunch of zombies, the Elder-Deep Fiend, and you get to tap down someone else’s lands all on the end step before your turn

Another card which works kinda similar to Sundial of the Infinite in Araumi is Teferi's Veil (Enchantment for 1U: Whenever a creature you control attacks, it phases out at end of combat), which prevents the tokens from being sacrificed since they wouldn't be present at the end of the turn. I would consider both in a more "fair" build of the deck, because from what I have been trying out they aren't really all that necessary, since it doesn't take much to go "oops, I win" with certain ETBs, like Peregrine Drake, Gary and Thoughtrender Lamia (which basically reads: your opponents discard their hand).
The one thing to keep an eye on is how telegraphed all the broken things Araumi can do are. There is plenty of time for your opponents to prepare if you happen to mill something insane during the first turns of the game.

Note for Sundial of the Infinite:
You do not have to end the turn in response at the beginning of the end step. Since "end the turn" effects exile the stack and then skip to cleanup, the "beginning of the end step" never happens, that part of the turn doesn't even happen. therefore, when you end the turn with sundial, "At the beginning of the end step" triggers never get the correct chance to happen. If you look at the Gatherer page for Sundial of the Infinite, this is confirmed to be the case.

I built a budget Araumi deck for a budget EDH league I play in. I think every card you mentioned is on my list of playables. Some (like Massacre Wurm) comes more when we increase the budget but lots of things are super cheap and the deck has been great overall. Another card you didn't mention that has put in the work for me, Consuming Aberration. Players without blockers die and even those with blockers can lose to Altar of Dementia.

For the Blim section, you control auras you cast even if they are put on creatures you don't own or control. so you actually still have to give them control of it. For Blim I would suggest something like akroan horse someone gains control of it and you get tokens that you can donate if you have nothing else.

A good way to finish with a Tuya Bear claw deck could be to use Craterhoof Behemoth to get your monster's power high, then use the new Rhonas to double all the power, then use Xenagos to make her even bigger. You can easily finish someone off with commander damage at that point. Use the cards that let you get extra combat steps, and you can hose down the whole table.

It's kinda weird that there wasn't a whole lot of hype for Jared. the forced combat control archetype was already hitting it's stride with Marisi, Breaker of the Coil/Gahiji Honored one, but now we have the omega variant of it with Jared. one of the biggest issues with forced combat and combat control is that your opponents just...*hit you.* Jared literally shows up and immediately tells everyone at the table "fight amongst yourselves for the crown and I'll come get what's mine as soon as I set up amongst the chaos."
Goad + Pariah + Monarch + burn sweepers all in Naya colors is exceptionally powerful and flexible in build.
