WE ARE BACK - Highwater Wellerbrücke

  • Summer is starting to slow down and we used the first opportunity of "lower flows" on the Ötz to get out there and paddle the famous Wellerbrücke section.
Please note that we put in countless hours and hundreds of laps on this river in order to feel ready to tackle it at highwater flows. There are no shortcuts and even though everything always seems good to go on videos, please make your own calls and always pay the river full respect.

Thank you Adrian, for disclaimer at the end. Appreciate you pointing out that you guys have been working all season on that section to get to that point. Important for the public and the fresher kayakers out there to realize you hafto crawl before you run.... Keep up the good work homies!

You guys are a league above most recreational paddlers, I've run the lower section of the Otz in high water it was scary, really fast, and a lot of fun. The Sickline section would have been unrunable.

    Sickline course is barely recognizable.
I walked up that day after you run it and though "how thwf do you paddle this?" 😆

That river has holes that sink boats, let alone kayaks some of the Rapids would be cool but it would be absurdly dangerous

@@parkerbeardsley2161 I have seen people kayak downstream of whirlpool and even the commercial jet boats there have the guids swim devils hole. it's absolutely dangerous for sure i actually live right on it and am a rescuer in the town. was just curious what professional kayakers thought about it.

@@billyb3689 Thanks. Yes it looks like glacier fed like the PNW US rivers, but our late season glacier fed rivers don't get very high late season, just murky. I was supposed to visit family in Europe this Summer. Maybe next year, lol. Boo hoo.
