You're very welcome. Thanks for the comment and support. It's appreciated.
She is great!!!❤❤❤
What a beautiful mess though!
I am learning so much!
Thanks.❤
Right? She turned that mess into cantaloupes in less than 30 minutes. It’s great to hear you’re learning from Helen’s lessons. Keep watching and I’m sure you’ll learn even more. Thanks for posting; it’s appreciated.
“So you can fix it! - changes to a new canvas lol 😂. She fixed it alright.
Are you referring to the two mistakes Helen made and showed how to correct at czcams.com/video/Bgp-ImLwFVc/video.htmlsi=Mtx2Ad1dLjIQuV0F&t=820
@@HelenVanWyk was just funny how she decided to go a different direction than in the beginning, nothing wrong with that just caught me off guard lol..
I find her painting show and voice very relaxing and comfortable 😊
Love the idea of applying the toned background with just a rag.
I don't know who this woman is but I want one.....I love the confidence and the ease of knowledge ….she makes me want to paint!
She was an amazing Artist !
Love how she makes soup.
She is brillant!
Eternally alive.
Nice to find HVW videos here ... I remember enjoying her lessons on PBS in the 1990's. However, the little "Jeopardy!" song and quiz inserts in this episode threw me off, almost like they were added later. No big deal, really.
Thanks for sharing this program on CZcams.
I learnt to paint 20 years ago from Helen’s excellent books. They are still available on Amazon or eBay
Ah ha! At last she said Negative Space instead of background! She really does know her s**t! What a fantastic painter!
I had a good guess.😊
Thank you
I miss her pbs showings in the 90s no art is no longer about the creation it's all about if it comes out so realistic that people paint with a camera now ,to me art is not to be perfect but a slight perfect intention to a shape that speaks that's a painting period
Art is what it always was. Try not to be upset that humanity realized that art is visual and if you need to read a note to tell you what you are looking at then you failed as an artist to convey the message.Modern art where no talent is required and even shunned has been very detrimental to the souls of humanity.Realism does not look like a camera at all. The artist has their artistic license to arrange the picture anyway they want and put in what they want and leave out what they want. For the composition. I for one have had my life saved by art going back to being representational which was done by the artists not by the establishment but inspite of it. Long live representational art.keeps us going.
There are artists like James Gurney and Chris Fornataro who still work like this.

The silhouette is a drawing of Scooby-Doo 😂
Not sure about Scooby but I did see a dog in there... good eye. 🐾
I can’t unsee that now 😂
You can marry the colors but they can't elope...ha ha.
what a mess
Yes, it might seem that way, but Helen has less than 30 minutes to complete a lesson. Sometimes, there's a trade-off to ensure the essence of the lesson comes through, most often reflected in her commentary as the painting progresses.
