    Purchased mine this year at Menards. 820ME. I made a folding table on the front, works great. I do beef jerky about every other week now. smoke for 5 hrs. Excellent. No issues so far. I removed the hopper guard like i see you did. You need to use some silicone or metal tape to cover the holes from the missing screws. Thats where the rain came in.

    I live in Maine with a lot of humidity. The curved heat shields are totally rusted apart and I haven’t been able to find the correct stainless steel replacement parts. The one that I found was rated very poorly made with mismatching curves, screws that didn’t fit, etc.

    Screws can be replaced, just pull out one of the screws and take it to ACE hardware. If you wanted, just spray paint the screws. Pit Boss is now released two new grills to be available at Lowes. They replace the 820 and 1100 pro series. they are the PB850PS2 and PB1150PS2. I hope both have fixed flaws that many are complaining about.

    • @BrewReview
      @BrewReview Před 3 lety +1

      Due to the amount of excess gasses that build up during the start up procedure when using pellet fuels. He mentioned that a bit over halfway through. You only do it right at startup until you see flame, then you can close the lid and smoke away, you’re not putting food on it the first five minutes of your startup anyway so no real loss there.

    Don't laugh, but I do briskets at least once a month on the 820. After about a year, the sliding part for the sear just stopped keeping the flame out. Went inside to put something in the fridge and use the bathroom and came back out and the grill was at 425 instead of 225. Was inside maybe 10 minutes. Opened the lid and poof...grease fire. The next brisket I did I just sat outside and it did it again. Long story short I havent done a brisket in 3 months. Yesterday I was looking around the internet and found that cover thats on yours and ordered it. I hope it fixes the problem 🤞

Takes about 5 min or so since it is right by my garage and shop vac. No worse than cleaning a charcoal grill.
