Mick Tucker was one of the best drummers in the world.Fantastic live performance there.
Yes - he was !!!
Glad Andy is still with us.
Same here mate.
I wish all the original Sweet members were still with us but Im so glad that Andy is still with us!
Mick Tucker. A pure master class in drumming. R.I.P
I always liked Mike as a drummer, but in this concert I don't like the sound they made to the drums, especially the snare drum sound almost sounds like a tom ... there is a reverb and echo delay effect that spoils the sound.
@@fmtfniuprog8029 No no...the drums sounds great .
Andy Scott is one of the greatest talents Britain ever produced.
Nobody can replace Brian .
He was the best frontman ever ❤
R.I.P. Brian, Mick and Steve
Normally associated with glam rock, Sweet was one of the best hard rock combos in the '70s as a matter of fact. Two of their albums, "Sweet FA" and "Level Headed", are masterpieces, IMO. Very underrated band...
For those who stop listening to a band because members change...I feel sorry for you. Every band goes through changes when they've been together along time. I look at Sweet as a group that has introduced us to so many great musicians and singers . They have and will continue to have a big place in the world of music. Enjoy them as they are now you never know you might just like them :)
Mick Tucker was a great Drummer and highly underrated!!!
He was an honoury Chorleywood man
+Dave Splendorio Too true
Absolutely!
The problem was that he was the drummer of an (initially) glam rock band whose musicianship was never recognized. In the 70ies, I was isolated in my class at school for being a Glitter Band fan. At this time, it was hip to be a fan of progressive bands such as Genesis, ELP, Pink Floyd and whoever who had the reputation to be great musicians with interminable instrumental parts...
Couldn't agree more. Sang great back ups too like Queen's Roger Taylor. Both excellent drummers, but I think Mick was even better. Cheers.
Andy & Mick at age 39, Paul, Mel & Phil keeping Sweet Alive. 💋💋💋💋💋Love to ALL❤❤❤❤❤
How amazing is it that Andy played this concert on a squier
I thought so, too.... pimped up with a Humbucker in 3rd position and kind of Floyd Rose I guess..? Fiesta Red!
The best glam rock band we had in Britain.
Believe it or not, this was broadcast on TV in Hong Kong in 1988. It was the first time I heard Sweet, and it was amazing.
That "Fanfare For the Common Man" bit in the middle of "Oxygen" was awesome!!!!
Fuck A it was awesome!!
the guys one hell of a singer top notch!!
No Brian no Band, we know the songs were written by other composers and certain people in the band, I think he felt he was being used and intimidated, with no support at all, if you look at certain interviews on CZcams by other members of the band you may come to the same conclusion, he was the face of The Sweet,I think it is called Charisma his onstage persona was second to none .R.I.P Brian we are still here you
That's true!
Nobody can replace Brian.
He was the best frontman ever!
Unforgotten and forever in the hearts of his fans 💕
I miss this time so much. The music still blows me away today. All the best to all the Sweet fans out there. Greetings from shitty Germany from Retrobulle.
It is just a pleasure to hear Mick's drumming
Vocalist definitely has it ! 😎
And MICK the Animal on DRUMS !😲👍🏻👍🏻
Stellar lineup! Man, that keyboard player is a GOD. Very talented. Every band member is a star in their right, just as it was in the classic lineup. I love the heavier sound! I could listen to Andy and Mick play all day!xx
Hells teeth!!!!!! What a performance!!! Brilliant live. Saw them in Southend in the 70's
That's a killer performance. Excellent!
As much as I LOVE the classic line-up (
Actually sounds really great. Excellent performance all round.
A brilliant performance of Tucker and Day !!!
It's obviously not the original line up (well done to all who pointed that out) but it's a hell of a performance !
I was there - best Sweet line up. Sad Brian had gone but Paul was great on the night. Mick and Andy's vocals superb too!! (RIP Mick and Brian) God bless
SWEET IS THE HISTORY OF THE WORLD! THE BEST OF THE BEST!
WTF Man! Sweet in 80's it's so fucking cool! Heavy, melodic and hot!
Sweet has been blessed with a long line of incredible musicians in its life. I know some dont like the changes but this band is a living thing and change is a part of life . Be glad we have had all the oldies to hear along with a wondrous array of new songs as well . Sweet lives forever in music and that is a good thing .
Superb musicianship here. Big shout out for Mick Tucker too.
Amazing concert, this line up is fantastic!
Always played the B sides of their glam rock records. Brilliant band.
Their B sides were often the best :)
This is really a tribute. The best way possible. Kicking ass
Absolute best version of this band!
I saw this tour when it came to the States in Philadelphia in 1986/87! I was in the front right near Andy and let me tell you it ROCKED!
I first saw Sweet when they toured for the "Give Us A Wink" record and have been a huge fan since hearing "Little Willie" on the radio in the early 70's!
Front row always rocks - i had the same with Doro - pure electricity !
Yes we all know , Brian was the best frontman , but he seemed to fuck up this band with his excesses and had to leave just as the band could have became a mega band like Queen ,, this performance proves how big they could have become if Brian could have controlled his habit , Mick and Andy are definitely at their peak here, unfortunately most of the Fans and public lost interest in the band when Brian left and the hits dried up, Shame because they missed out on guitarist and drummer who deserved more recognition than they got
Darren sweetnam I totally agree with you !!!
Awesome group vocals and very tight playing. Sweet had some great songs too.
I'm an old Sweet fan, and this version is the best of Sweet I ever heard. Top notch .
This vocalist is the best I've seen of all the guys who have played in the many versions of Sweet after Brian Connolly.
yes, Mick was a great drummer. Andy is here too!
Great rock band live !
Fancied a bit of Sweet this morning, 1974’s Fanny Adams whilst out walking. Came home and found this. Love Sweet live and this is Heavy. Tuckers drumming is awesome!
Excellent concert and incredibly good live appearance! Indeed, I find the voice of Paul Mario Day better fitted to the Iron Maiden's music style. Sweet had until 1978 one of the best frontmen of any band ever: Brian Connolly.
but brian had to quit due to his vocal strain from his heavy smoking habit.
Is this Paul Di'anno then? He sounds very similar to Steve Priest here, no mean feat.
Ellen r Brian connolly was still in sweet in 1978 couse he did with others love is like oxygen and also did love is like oxygen at disco in Germany
Ja Ellen, das finde ich auch. Brian kann von niemandem ersetzt werden.
Er bleibt in unseren Herzen 💕
@@pauldenny4828 No, originally Maiden's vocalist in the mid 70s. I don't know if there's anything recorded of him from then but he sounds great here! Di'anno was 2-3 vocalists later.
Ohhhhh, what a great, marvelous concert....Superb....
Never saw this before, I'm a purest but this is awesome! Really enjoyed it!
Musically and stylistically, this band was wayyyyyyyyyyy ahead of its time. Thanks for sharing this marvelous performance!
énorme, une formation qui fonctionnait bien avec ces trois nouveaux dans le groupe 55 ' de bonheur à fond la caisse merci pour le partage
one of the most underrated bands of the 70s very talented musicians
This is one of the greatest live gigs EVER!! Big call? Yes, but true!!
I Love Sweet.
Sweet Forever!
Sweet is a AWESOME BAND
Mick Tucker was an amazing drummer.
The best!!
Christ everything about them is just awesome!
Andy Scott Rules! Mick is amazing as always.. RIP MICK!
Sweet maiden
remember this was a good gig, marquee was a great sweaty little place.
Sweet were great, had something going on more powerful than the normal “glam” band, really the only thing glam about them are the clothes they wear.
The early stuff sounded glam but they became a very awesome rock band.
Always liked Sweet a lot. This lineup rocks their asses off. Not the same as the original band but awesome nevertheless. Thanks for uploading.
Ya BaBy...FLESHY BROADS on stage !!🤩👍🏻👍🏻
70's, those were the days and the Sweet, such an amazing band at a time when there were so many great bands, love em.
Eccezzionali,punto.
Mick e Andy over the top.
Mi ricordano un poco i Pooh in Italia.
Come loro musicisti dal talento superlativo, sottovalutati al massimo!!
W i Sweet e la loro musica.
Wow just got to see this. Luv this band. Even though was the legends Andy Scott and Mick Tucker the rest of the band wear amazing. Mick Tucker was just on fire. Sounded great.
Disparado o melhor show que vi do Sweet. Espetacular e de alto nível. Quem já passou dos 50 ou quem curte o bom rock, este vídeo é imperdível!
So good!
Yes Mick and Andy underated... Too bad Steve Priest didn’t join in on this tour along with Brian Connely on vocals I know he was very sick 12 heart attacks and lived Through it.. see his 1995 interview..Would loved to see them all one more time in 1995...I ❤️ Sweet all talented!!! Godspeed Brian Mick Steve...ACTION-LOVE IS LIKE OXYGEN-FOX ON THE RUN -LITTLE WILLY-hits after hits....
The Sweet sounds Tight as usual & Paul Mario sounds Great.
RIP Brian connolly and mick tucker I wish u both was still alive and glad Andy Scott and Steve prest is still alive
A damn good performance.
GRUPAZO !!. La voces les suenan impresionantes en directo.
Saw this lineup, live in Chicago area club called cubby bear, one of the best versions of the band ever. God bless Mick Tucker.
Capolavoro!!!
Incredibile concerto.
Magici Sweet, fanno impallidire il duo band più blasonati dell'epoca.
X me so' mejo i Sweet.🌞
I love it!! woww..love is like oxygen + fanfarre to a commom man...wonderful!!!!!!!!
Had the pleasure of seeing this line up a few weeks later at the marquee, 1986. just as awesome as the video
Excelente concierto....se escucha grosso!!!
Wow, so happy I got to see this finally. Been a fan since 1976 but had never seen this. Kind of miss Connolly and Priest but then again this line up was brillant, really top notch!
'Love is like oxygen' (28:04)....... just epic!
Met Andy in 2006 in Carlisle at a gig.He signed my CD and we shook hands. Andy was great, vocals were just ok.
Love is like oxygen was the first music i heard back to 2003. I was 20y. This live performance of the song sound almost as killer as the original record! But i miss "Into the Night" one of my favorite songs
Great show....beginning of Sweet FA sounded awesome.
Amazing lineup, great sound, saw this tour in Boston in '86.
Nothing beats Scott, Tucker, Brian and Steve though (IMO). Desolation Blvd, Give us a Wink, Off the Record = Some of the best music ever recorded...
Brother and I saw this tour too in Redondo Beach.
@Philip Holmes - No, this was in Redondo Beach. Was named either "Annabelle's", or "The Strand" when we saw them. It used to be "The Plush Horse". I also saw Larry Carlton play there. Nice intimate setting for shows.
Sweet should've had filmed a concert in the original lineup 1971 - 1978😢
Просто обалденный концерт , учитывая все проблемы ...
great live band
RIP Brian & Mick ! Steve & Andy are still alive
Rip Steve
I'm an old, conservative, Sweet fan.....BUT... This is a nice surprise. Tucker and Scott shines...more than ever. Great sound and performance. The new kids brings in a lot of energy, and everyone shines.
torben lyneborg eriksen I agree with you !!
one night at the marqee became 3 nights still a lot of people wanting to see sweet x iron maiden vocalist paul mario day love his voice
this is why i write songs on you tube❤
The Sweet.
Professional Hardrock.
Mick Tucker, very powerful drummer RIP
One of the six best drummers on this planet.
This isn't Mick Tucker. He wasn't in this version of Sweet. And, contrary to what most people seem to be saying, it is Brian Connelly who is singing . By 1992 he was screwed by his alcohol addiction and that's why he looks and sounds like crap.
BrainiacFingers I was at all (3) shows, its Andy Scott on guitar and Mick Tucker on drums and Brian is not singing in this version of Sweet.
@@BrainiacFingers This IS Mick Tucker
@@illusionclassicrock6742- In this video it is Mick Tucker , but this isn't the video that I commented on two years-ago. The video I commented on two years-ago was from 1992, this current video is from 1986 and does indeed feature Tucker and a replacement for Connelly. The video which I commented on was, if I remember correctly, the version of Sweet that was fronted by a practically unrecognizable Brian Connelly (five years before he died , and in bad physical condition)and which also featured a drummer whose name I don't know.
Say what you will, but they sound pretty good.
grahamski I think so too
Absolutely agree !!
Not the lead singer he's definitely poor I've heard better people at karaoke than this guy and so are Andy really good and makes doing great the other guitars or I guess the basis is pretty good it's just the singer the singer is terrible he's not that good
@@nickjaramillo9688 Have to agree, lead singer is piss poor, not the Sweet as far as I'm concerned.
Backing vocals are on tape.
MOST ENJOYABLE....ANDY SCOTT , MICK TUCKER (R.I.P.) AND REST OF BAND WELL DONE ...GR8. SONGS.
This is the best Sweet line up by far...What a sound....splendid...Paul Mario had transformed Sweet completely. ..wow
Phil Lanzon on keyboards. Saw him with Uriah Heep.
Thank you for posting! This is stellar ❤
Great to have been there... The Marquee... what a wonderful venue :-)))
Brilliant post.
I have this on CD...Good concert!
Great show!
