Farage Stung By His Own Politics?

  • Nigel Farage has alleged that a private firm that he contracted a service out to has not done the job they were paid for. He now claims that he will take legal action, and maybe even involve the police. So, in one stroke, Farage is claiming to be stung by outsourcing, something he approves of, and wants to be able to take advantage of consumer rights, something he disapproves of. Irony much?

He's not the worst man in British politics. Johnson, Gove and Rees-Mogg hold those positions, though for different reasons. And he can't hold a candle to Trump: arguably the vilest carbon-based lifeform in the solar system. But he still makes me sick.

I actually agree with Fartage, up to a point, I agree that all privately owned businesses should be allowed to succeed or fail by their own merits with a single penny of public money being used to support them in any way, but I also think that all public services, those being services that we can all use such as the NHS, utilities, transport, education etc should be 100% publicly owned and run not for profit.

On the other hand, if you're billing per candidate, and many candidates will be _very_ easy to find issue with, you could bill them for many many thousands of candidates very quickly!
(or until they run out of candidates, which may be more likely)

Only £144,000? The tories ‘invested’ up to £37 billion (they have yet to produce any accounting) on outsourcing a covid test, track and trace system / app. Nothing was ever delivered.
Two great arguments for not outsourcing.

  • @rbdogwood

As an ex MHS employee I can attest that outsourcing is a very bad idea. it's really just a way of dodging the responsibility and only considered by managers who are not invested in the service. Obviously those managers were poorly selected, suggesting the problem is further up the ladder and probably indicates rot at the top.
