Kripp, you could've shadowcastered c'thun and then blade'o'c'thuned your own c'thun, buffing the baby 1/1 c'thun

I tested it today. For "handicapped programmists" reasons shadowcaster ALWAYS adds 1/1 copy to your hand, but once it's there - it starts gaining buffs like it just appeared in the game, i.e. if you play beckoner it goes up to 3/3. So yeah, Kripp could've done that.

+AshleyKing88 Yeah. Personal experience, the best Yog I saw was when my opponent played it. He got a flamestrike, arcane intellect (he wasn't near fatigue yet, so that was good), few spells that didn't do anything, and I think a blessing of kings on his Yog. It didn't matter though, cause he had no taunt and had 4 health against me playing a rogue deck, so he just died the next turn anyways. And that is legit the best I've seen, and I've seen him show up like 15 times just in my games alone.

I like how kripp is a guy who prides himself on game knowledge, and doing weird things with the mechanics that we are given but doesn't brann -> raptor on squidface -> raptor on raptor FeelsBadMan We all want the raptor on raptor action
I agree with a lot of what Kripp said. The biggest problem with the card is that it is inherently dependent on other cards, and having a board of some kind.
That being said though, in a deck that runs Reno, Vek'lor, VanCleef, or a few other notable threats it can completely blow out decks in the right situations. Its strength lies in its flexibility. I have made a Reno Rogue with a 1-of Shadowcaster and has healed for ~60 against aggro decks.
3:46 misplay: you can quadruple the deathrattle by copying the first Unearthed Raptor.
I know it's not really important at that stage of the game but just funny to be able to.

Funny thing is though, the 1/1 C'Thun can get buffs but only after the copy is first put into your hand, so theoretically you could Blade your real C'Thun and later drop a 1 cost C'Thun that's otherwise identical to the real one.

He used the card called "Thistle Tea" to get the three Sylvanas, which is a very fantastic thing to get. They (arguably) enabled him to win. The match itself was grim, and it was as if he would lose (he was in a sweaty situation). That's the pun.

Just noticed something... If you Shadowcaster a C'Thun then buff him up, you can have a decent minion with a good battlecry for 1...
A lot of creative possibilities with this card. I haven't played around with it, but maybe will do rogue in my next ladder video series.
Hey Kripp, I agree very much with your statement. However, to have really fun with the Shadowcaster, you should do play Shadowcaster in the Rogue Reno Deck. You can copy Reno, Sylvanas, etc. I played the deck to Rank 5 so far!

shadowcaster is my 2nd favorite card of old gods; copying a 1-1 battlecry or emperor is pretty huge if you can do it. my best moment in old gods so far was -
playing twin emperor. shadow stepping twin emperor. play emperor, shadowcaster twin emperor. playing 1-1 emperor, and shadowstepping the 1-1 emperor. the enemy nearly killed themselves trying to kill all the taunts then conceded on the last 0 cost emperor. i wish i recorded it.

I'm sort of surprised we've yet to see evasion as a rogue secret that is like ice block or lets them dodge a couple of attacks. Even as spell that is ok.

+Strongside Yeah I also wonder why there's no ''Evasion'' type spell that lets you avoid damage. Or a minion that says like, ''your hero has a 50% chance to avoid damage''.
There's Sprint that has similar flavor with a rogue running... but that's going fast, not evading.
There's also stealth, but that's only for minions. Would be cool to give yourself stealth in similar fashion to Ice Block or Mal'Ganis. Stuff like Steady Shot would still hit though, of course.
or a "tricks of the trade" spell that gives a friendly minion bolf's effect xD

1 mana brann 3 mana shadow caster 5 mana shadowcaster on the caster
2 branns and 2 casters for 1 mana each in hand at this point. The perpetual 1/1 machine feels good. All you have to do now is play a blade of C'thun and hit it with the second shadowstep (or toxin) for infinite 1 mana assassinates.
Don't forget to suicide your 1/1s for board space every now and then.

The best use of Caster I have seen is in Reno N'Zoth decks.
Shadowcaster is amazing in a Reno deck. Against my Fatigue Warrior I saw a Rogue use Reno 5 times in one game.
In first clip you could actually copy first raptor's deathrattle with second raptor.
So you will get 4/4 pirate with deathrattle, 3/4 raptor with 2 deathrattles, and 3/4 raptor with 4 deathrattles.
+Артём Муртазин I've never used a rogue deck before, could you explain why the raptor doubles the deathrattle effect? Reading the card right now makes me think that it would be just an exact copy of the old deathrattle and the same thing either way

The "copy deathrattle" effect is battlecry. And battlecries can be copied when Brann on the field.
Raptor the Loot Hoarder? It will draw a card when it dies.
Raptor first Raptor. It will draw TWO cards when it dies.
Now Shadowstep first Raptor, and then play it, raptoring the second one. Now it will draw 2x2=4 times when it dies.
Now Shadowtep second Raptor and Raptor the first Raptor. You get 4x2=8 cards.
Now Panda first Raptor and Raptor the second one. You get 8x2=16 cards...
And now it's kinda pointless to Panda again, sinse programmers limited amount of copied Deathrattles on Raptop to 16.
For the cthun it works like the priest's entomb card. u get a 6/6 cthun but if u are running cthun and got the buff cards and ur cthun is like 15/15 when u buff cthun 1 more time both get 17/17 etc. so from a 6/6 it becomes the same as ur cthun u just need 1 buff card

Best combo I saw was Brann, Shadowcaster>Brann, Shadowcaster>Shadowcaster, Cyclopean Horror, Shadowcaster>Cyclopean Horror, Repeat. Against aggro its pretty much guarenteed win so long as they can't clear their own board and then reestablish control after clearing yours. Fortunately I was playing mage so I just cast fireballs over it with Antonidas.

Play at 1.5 speed for a normal speed of a game
Play at 2.0 speed for a good speed of game (good being you know what you do and not just sit there then think #ResidentSleeper so you can be fast and make the opponent think its really confidence and/or put pressure giving them less time to think.)

This is definitely one of those kinda cards that's a ton of fun to use. As far as it being viable, it's just about borderline I'd say. It's one of those kinda cards that if something decently powerful that's Neutral or Rogue comes out in the next couplea Adventures or Expansions, we'll see this gal everywhere.
+Mathmachine I think Kripp nailed it when he said cards with powerful abilities people are often too worried about getting too greedy with. A 1/1 for 1 with battlecry: draw a card and Spell Damage +1 would be in every deck, but I doubt many people are going to Shadowcaster an Azure Drake.
+juttyism this is a bad way of thinking, as you pay with playing a 5 mana 4/4 to get that card into your deck

lol... shadow caster on reno. That alone saved me like 15 times. Not joking, and that's just one use of the card, I even had 3 renos sometimes.
That happened to me in ARENA! And he almost won the game he healed like 40 health but I still won

Wow! that Yogg Saron footage was mind-blowing! The one thing that I don't understand is that, since it's a battlecry, shouldn't the entirety of spells be played before the deathrattle is triggered? Based on previous results, the battlecry should trigger entirely before anything else is triggered, right?

Shadowcaster really feels stronger than the new Priest Legend. I'm enjoying Reno Rogue with this card and Emperor

Kripp can you do a video talking about how to play defensively in the absence of AHB and Sludge Belcher? Mill Rogue is my favorite deck to play, personally, and while losing Deathlord and Belcher doesn't hurt too bad, I'm having a hard time finding a healing solution in the new cards. All of the new neutral heals feel so situational now, I don't know what to do.

Maybe that's the secret Yogg plan: play it to counter Sylvannis. The RNG will kill your opponent with greater ease (or at least use a bunch of warlock cards that burn their hand).

4:35 the "sweat-est" tea
after seeing that last match, and the other video Kripp did, can we all agree that Blade of C'Thun is absolutely amazing? a little pricey, yes, but god if that card hasn't clinched games for me. it's also the primary reason i run a Shadowcaster in my deck. if you can ever keep Blade on your field for a turn, SCing it is just the greatest feeling in the world. Talking of SC though, it really needs some better early game battlecry minions to be more useful. right now it's too slow if you use it on a deathrattle (only interesting choice being Sylvanas as far as i'm concerned), and most battlecry minions you'd want to hit with it are out of standard, or too high of a cost to flow well with her. Brann is amazing with her, and that's swell and all, but they don't hit a strong curve together without some better early game battlecries. If there was one or two early battlecries that could guarantee some board presence, then SC would be golden (speaking of which, i now realize i want 2 golden SC's to get golden copies with her...). a bit of a shame for now, since SC is my favourite card from WotOG.
+Mythda so, this video prompted me to go back over my collection of cards and see what's possible with SC, and i started to wonder... has anybody thought of trying a murloc rogue with SC in it? just throwing that out there. cuz there's some synergistic effects on murlocs that proc immediately. seer would be a 1-cost 1/1 with +2hp to all murlocs, warleader would be an easy 1-cost +2/+1 across your board. the early ones like the tidehunter brothers lose 1 attack and 1 mana cost, but retain their battlecries for a board refill. i mean, since murlocs already can buff themselves so easily, the fact her copy is a 1/1 can be rather inconsequential if you hit the right target. and you can still retain 3 cards of the deck for Blade's and C'thun for a late-game win condition. i'm probably not seeing the fatal flaw, but i thought i'd share the idea here in case somebody else wanted to test it. i'm gonna pop together a test deck now and let you all know how (badly) i do with it.

Found out that a Mechwarper created by Shadowcaster still costs 1 regardless of the mana cost reduction from the existing Mechwarper.

Arg the last blade of c'thun play was a missplay, it didn't change the outcome but for those who don't know, the stats are immediately added on c'thune on the board so make the blade play before attacking with C'thun great games anyway and the 1-1 c'thune is so cute

I dunno man i seem to do great things with shadowcaster pretty frequently, its an extra coin to play N'Zoth early if you do tomb pillager, or ive healed myself for 3+ 3 + 3 with a shadowcasted earthen then shadowstepped it to bring it to 3/3 and outlast rushdown decks.... You can copy N'zoth, shadow step the 1/1 and play it a 3rd time, playing N'Zoth 3 times in a row vs control decks completely exhausts their board wipes, Also i've copied That 6/6 deathrattle taunt dragon and just wiped the board with that.... I think only 1 card is good but you can do lots of combos with it. At worst I can double SI agent and at regular you can copy the summoner for a 1 cost version you can play with your raptors right away.... Sooo much you can do.
6 mana for a 5/5 and what is basically a very similar effect to shadowstep. Sounds good, but the cost of shadowstep is so much lower that I can pretty much do it when I like, but with shadowcaster I have to wait until I have at least 5 mana, 6 if I want the effect now.

Except shadow returns and shadowcaster adds a copy, you could brann shadow and shadowstep, you'll then have 3 branns

I've been having some luck with Shadow Caster in a Mill Rogue deck. True Mill Rogue's kind of meh now, especially with the removal of Death Lord and Healbot, but Shadowcaster isn't that bad in it at all.

For that to be good/alright they should lower the cost on the card itself and make the lill dude in your hand cost more or even the same because thats technically a 6 mana 5/5 but any damage makes it suck

Krip you got it wrong. Shadow caster is excellent in the tempo rogue. You have enough early game action. This guy gives you another body that is great at enabling combo.
5 mana 4/4 is terrible for tempo, and once you're at 5+ mana to even play the card, you should easily be able to combo with your other cards

Tried this deck, and got 12 c'thuns with power of 116, against fatigue warrior. I played c'thun as 10/10 and he just ignored it for one turn to play justicar os something and i shadowcaster + brann got 2 more and continued to duplicate everything.. + there was a game when i healed for 216 with Reno.. try it, its fun :P

I think Blade Flurry should no longer destroy the weapon. I believe this would make it so that you would use it and it wouldn't be OP because you still need other cards to synergise with it.

What's the ruling on the 1 mana 1/1 C'thun copy and C'thun synergy? Does the 1/1 benefit from future buffs since it's also a C'thun? Will there be two C'thun animations letting the opponent know that the 1/1 is gaining mass?
it does not get the buffs prior to the creation of the 1/1 copy.
