Jerry Lewis was a godsend for MD. What he managed through these telethons is astounding. A Labor tradition that is sadly - nay, tragically - no more.

I worked many yrs in westerly RI for the telethins.i had the wonderful pleasure of meeting Jerry Lewis in person.what awonderful man Jerry was.many time I would call Jerry in the phone&talk to him fir hrs.he is very dearly missed by all his fans!;

I have Spinal Muscle Atrophy, a type of Muscular Dystrophy, and was a local MDA Poster Child in 1976. It’s still difficult when Labor Day comes around and I realize that Jerry is gone and the telethon is no more.
I am sorry about your health condition and i admire your spirit to fight on i agree it's pure blasphemy that this iconic event is no longer around! I stayed up through the middle of the night as a kid just to see all the talent and touching stories that the show offered to us every labor day holiday....it needs to be brought back with Jerry's spirit and heart it is truly missed by me and so many other great people !! #MDAwilllneverdie #ForeverJerry
The politicians hated this telethon. Jerry showed you can do it without their involvement. The media hated Jerry, too.
Perfect timing especially for Labor Day obviously I always look forward to watching the Jerry Lewis MDA Labor Day Telethon.

I miss the MDA Telethon. I got to see a lot of great entertainment I wouldn't have otherwise.
WATCHING THE TELETHON WAS GREAT 👍 I WOULD WATCH IT EVERY LABOR DAY WEEKEND FROM SUNDAY AT 🕘 9 P.M 6:30 P.M ON LABOR DAY AND THAT WAS ENJOYABLE TIME TO BE WATCHING IT TO SEE THE MONEY 💴 BEING RAISED TO LOCAL CHARITIES
