I love how Isabella’s parts sound a lot sadder then creepy or optimistic (like in the original). Like something really terrible happened to Bruno and she’s still grieving by holding onto the one good thing Bruno told her. Like she’s trying to put him in a good light.
And then a total contrast of Dolores. In the original she’s sad the man she loves is out of reach but she doesn’t blame Bruno. In this version it’s obvious that she’s totally bitter over it and Bruno is the villain in her story.
Or maybe I’m reading to deep into this.

Well that or it makes you realise that the town and the way they interacted and thought of Bruno was the most villainous thing in the film... In which the town collectively gaslights Bruno into making him belive he's bad luck for decades (noting how literally Isabella is the only one who talks about a good vision even if she in the conon at the times sees it as a lie and thus a 'bad vision.') He saw good things too it's just that people tend to remember the bad things much more vividly.

Cutting and tangling the red strings of fate to cause misery around him. Bringing forth natural disasters from clear skies, separating soulmates, keeping them close but just out of reach. And he has returned, in disguise as Isabella's boyfriend, to bring down the family whose refusal to heed his warnings sent him down this dark path in the first place.

Jesus, I love Isabella and Dolores’ parts sung by Anna, it kind of sounds like one single character, like it sounds like it could be a whole different story-
My personal interpretation of it is that Bruno’s power really IS to control peoples futures and he fell in love with Anna’s character and promised her a perfect life in the hopes that she would love him back and she, instead of loving him back, fell in love with a different man and Bruno then *cursed* her to never be able to gain his affection, taking away her promise of a happy future in the process.

Those who witnessed his atrocities would be driven to insanity, mentally and spiritually fractured the sheer unholiness of his power. The very ground he walked on was cursed, damned soil where nothing could ever grow. He was a slinking, lumbering and slithering horror, sludging in the depths of the catacombs. A monster, a creature of unparalleled horror and evil... the very antithesis of life itself...

Bruno saw the truth , being able to tell the future was a true gift from God him being a prophet , but he was not strong enough to face his family... So , he entered the walls of the house facing them by his own ... A godly intervention saved Mirabel from being possessed so she tries to learn about Bruno in order for them both to fight together and save their family !!!!

OK, here's my interpretation of this version:
The three figures are witch-hunters with highly questionable morals. They were called to the Encanto by a family, the uncle of which was given precognition abilities, and could therefore affect events so certain things would happen. When the hunters arrived, the uncle, Bruno, attempted to ward them off by affecting them and whoever they came into contact with (causing a wedding they attended to be ruined by a hurricane, afflicting one with hallucinations that make him seem mad, killing a beloved pet they just bought, etc). The town was initially fooled, but the witch-hunters saw through the scheme and did away with Bruno, before exaggerating his scheme so the entire Encanto thought he was evil to the core.
Here, Mirabel made the mistake of asking them about Bruno. Now, she's on their hitlist.

this is the story of someone who stumbled across a strange "family," a group of people devoted to a demon called Bruno. a cult, basically. each member asked Bruno for their future, and he would tell them of negative events. they would give their souls, and so he controlled them. he told them that the events he predicted were positive, and they listened because they had to. Mariano is a poor unfortunate soul who is to be sacrificed to give Bruno a body. Mariano was chosen specifically because Bruno and his cult dislike Isabella because there was literally nothing negative to predict in her future. this line; "He told me my hair would dissapear, now look at my head OH NO!" is sung by an imp who Bruno tricked into becoming his familiar. this imp is deathly afraid of Bruno, that's why he screamed "OH NO!": he realized Bruno was on his way.

The Encanto becomes a satanic cult over time, with Abuela being the ringleader. Mirabel doesn't get a gift, thanks to Bruno making a deal to protect Mirabel. To say this pissed off Abuela would be an understatement. Now, Mirabel has to find Bruno, break the demonic curse, and save the family while trying to avoid being sacrificed by Abuela.

on anna's isabela part, i can see her sitting on her knees at his broken and shredded gravestone, gripping dying flowers in her hands and crying. she holds onto the good memories, the ones he left behind with her that she doesn't want to forget. anna's isabela in this song is sorrowful and wants to move forward with life, but her family will not let it be.
she begs them to stop spreading these lies and horrific tales of Bruno Madrigal but fails to do so. she is in despair and tends to his grave, and goes here more often than her family knows. she tries to remain optimistic by telling these good tales of Bruno; "he told me that the life of my dreams would be promised and someday be mine."
but- in this story-- that dreamy life that he promised did not happen because Bruno perished. it's sort of like her family is forcing tradition on her; "ISABELLA, YOUR *BOYFRIENDS* HERE!" --hinting at the fact that they are trying to ruin her perfect life that Bruno promised her. (why? to blame bruno for everything ofc!)- and her boyfriend doesn't seem like a good guy in this version.

To be honest, I think this is exactly how he heard it. He did what he did out of love for his family, and hearing the very ones he tried to save say such awful things about him must have sounded like nine inch nails in his heart. They thought him a demon, and this portrays the feeling perfectly.

    • @TheBigChubbyBunny
      @TheBigChubbyBunny Před 2 lety +8

@@ryantabor9582 Exactly, I can only imagine the hurt he must of felt. Before he left he had already wished he was dead (in the deleted scene) but stayed because of how much he loved his family. He actually started out as the golden child but fell from grace over time. Once the villagers hated and feared him his stairs in his room grew to distance him from the town he once was forced to serve. Sadly this also separated him from his family more and more everyday. That is why there was so much miscommunication with him and Papa on her wedding day. After that day I don't think he left his tower very often.\
He was a like a Madrigal Prince locking himself up in his castle only coming out when absolutely necessary to help and protect his family. Then His mom asked for his help to see into the future about Mirabel. And when he saw it he knew he cold never speak of it. Knew he could never condemn her to the same fate as him. Of course she would still be the family's Scapegoat. The Black sheep that never quite fit in like him. But at least she wouldn't be hated and feared like him.
He was already distancing himself from his family to the point of just wanting to die but he still would never leave them. It was until the same fate would have been put onto a child he loved and cared for so much that he decided to put himself in self exile. He left to protect Mirabel, to protect his family, and the town. He left because he knew he could never have the conversation with his mom about what the real problem with the family was because she didn't want to confront it. So he left in silence. Far enough to stay away and hidden but close enough to patch up the cracks in the house that no one else could see but him. Until Mirabel confronted her own issues and could see them that is.
It must have hurt so much. Knowing that he put himself through isolation, patching up the cracks and letting his family talk about him as if he was a bad omen who purposefully tried to harm them with their predicted futures. When really he was just the messenger shot down before he even had a chance to explain himself. It must have been painful to hear about the way they were staining his name knowing he couldn't even defend himself. All he ever did he did out of love.

The Madrigals "gifts" took a turn after Abuela took them for granted and pushed them too far.
They've been cursed by the gift that gave them it in the first place and can't control their powers. Now Abuela and Mirabel have to witness the fall of the Madrigals. If only Abuela wasn't fearful and had faith, maybe then it could've been avoided. Or maybe if they had listened to a certain someone who seen the future, maybe then it wouldn't have happened...

I would honestly love to see a horror version of Encanto with your amazing cover. So..... We don't talk about Bruno but cursed and Bruno is a devil, all prophecies storyline:
-Pepa being afraid of Bruno since he got his gift, he changed due to it. The day of her wedding, Bruno is able to manipulate her emotions to make her blew up and create a hurricane. This caused Felix to get in the storm and gets hit in the head, causing him severe brain damage and is now persuade that their wedding was beautiful while Pepa has trauma from it.
-Dolores and Camilo only knew him from the family gathering, their mother prohibiting them to approach him. Both of them see him as a devil but Dolores can't help but feel like there's still good in him and so asks him for a prophecy. The prophecy is great, about how she'll live happily with the man of her dreams, but Bruno decides to mess with her and lie that her cousin will be the one he'll choose over her. Her only option? Killing this man so another would come (cuz I swear the 'Isabela your boyfriend's here TIME FOR DINNER' just gave me the feeling they'll eat this poor Mariano-)
-The town people tried to revolt against the Madrigals, all because of Bruno messing with his prophecies. Bruno who's also able to change someone's future little details, decides to punish them by making them insecure.
-Isabela is way too much pressured by Abuela. She meets Bruno in the wall and makes her a deal: on the day the cracks appears, the life of her dream will happened in exchange of her soul and devotion
    And that's it!

Ooooh, this gets my creative juices flowing for real!! I so badly want to write a story based on this. It gives me the idea of a family from way back when who are well known throughout their community, like how the Madrigals are in the movie. However, the other villagers are less reliant on the family and are more afraid of them because they've gained the reputation of being a rather corrupt group of people, the most notorious member being "Bruno," who, magical or not, could and would cause terrible things to happen to everyone and everything. What the villagers don't know is that the rest of the family is just as afraid of Bruno, and the reason they do bad things, ranging from petty theft to murder, is because it's the only way to appease him, or else he'll bring turmoil upon them as well. Like in the movie, this Bruno also mysteriously went missing a number of years ago, but after a brief period of respite and false security, the community once again fell under hardship from Bruno's usual commotion, so even if they don't know for sure his whereabouts or reasons for leaving, they suspect he's still ever-lingering. Because of this, the villagers and family are scared to speak of him at all, afraid he might be listening, but they still reluctantly do so in this song to the protagonist, a young woman in the family akin to Mirabel (I imagine her singing Isabela and Dolores' combined part), who is trying to learn as much as she can about Bruno in order to prevent him and her family from doing something terrible to her boyfriend ('cause Mariano sounds like he's in danger here).
Whew, that's a long comment. That's my take on this, though!! Thanks for the cool cover - I love imagining this kind of stuff!! :D

"Bruno, The Weaver Of Fate: Once a man who cared deeply for his family, when his own Alma called him and his gift worthless to the family, his heart was filled with pure rage and hatred. He decided then and there, that he would not be one who was subjected to the whims of the future and fate, but instead, he would control it and make it bend to his desires! This is the story of how he was able to truly control fate and laugh at the future."

Don't know if you speak Spanish but your use of the word Abuela is wrong. It means grandmother, Mirabel refers to her as Abuela cuz Alma is her grandma. But Alma is Bruno's mother (in spanish you could say madre or mamá)

Now this feels like a villain song. If this was still true to the whole subversion on Bruno being evil thing, then it's doing too much of a good job.

    So imagine this:
-Pepa & Felix were getting married when Bruno came around & caused a hurricane which killed all of their loved ones & possibly them as well, or maybe in a deep coma that they haven't woken up yet.
-Dolores's part(the 1st verse that can make him male or something) can hear Bruno's whispers all around as he may have abused her & even when she thinks he has left, she still hears him because of ybe trauma.
-Camilo's part can be viewed as Camilo is cursed to forever see Bruno as he is haunted by him & could possibly torture him anywhere & everywhere.
-The fish lady's fish was actually a relative of her's & when Bruno finds out about this, he kills them.
-The Gut Guy's gut actually became so bad that it killed him.
-The priest's loses all Hair from body & possibly skin, making him look like a skeleton that can easily break.
-DolorBella(Same singer which can make them the same person) has the perfect life at first but as an exchange for that, her lover who gets betrothed to another actually plans to kill the lover but she can't do anything about it because she could actually be non-existed in his world.
-Mirabel, who wishes to break the curse of the village that they all live in, asks about Bruno but she ends up dying by his ends or worse, part of the curse of Encanto.
