there's a huge difference between a character being created to honour someone and the english translation changing the characters name into something that honours someone

She one of the special villagers that use the same base as the other animals but are supposed to be something else, Like Flo is a flamingo but is part of the ostrich villager type or Blaire using the squirrel base but she's a skunk. So yes Audie is a fox.

It's old news, and isn't true. I explained why it's not true in another comment. Basically only in English and two other translations of the games is the wolf called "Audie". In every other language, including Japanese, the source material, she is called Monika.

Hey that's so cool. Kinda weird how, despite the character being specifically created after Audrey, she was called Monica in Japanese, the language the game was originally created in, as well as in 7 other languages.

If you want to integrate a real person in your game, why change it's name in every country?

I play in Chinese and her name is Monika there and it’s also Monika in Japanese. She’s named Audie only in English version
