Wow that's good and easy
Gonna use this to make mini cinnamon apple pies in the cup cake tins
I have made this and it's my go to every time I need a pie!! Thank you ❣️
Awesome!! I'm so happy you're enjoying the recipe! My go-to all the time, too! :)
Very nice! It’s thanksgiving and I’ve never made a pie and am kinda intimidated by the crust! Great video! You made it look so simple. Am gonna try it tonight after work. Pecan pie! Thanks for energizing me!
I'm so glad my video helped you out! :) Hope your first pie is a success! :)
My first batch turned out perfectly! Second batch, thought I could get away with butter that's just cold.
Nope!
Now the batches are chilling in the fridge, in preparation for making mini quiches for Christmas Dinner.
The cold butter is a must! :)
That sounds perfect! I love quiche! Merry Christmas!
Although it broke my food processor I tried it with another method and it turned out great!
Keep up the good and delicious work!
Oh, no!! :( So sorry about the food processor! I'm glad it worked out in the end! :)
Ooooo my good I really need this recipe ... cuz I always ruin any pie crust i make 😭
Thank you Tatiana you're the best 😘👑
Thank you so much! We word wrong how to make pie crust because we wouldn’t want to get the frozen one! 😊
Thanks
For those afraid of breaking their food processor....what I did was grate my frozen butter quickly, diced a few smaller cubes of what I couldn't shred and then put it in the food processor and blended until it became crumbly. I have a cheaper Crusinart and was afraid bigger cubes would break it, lol. Hope this helps.
thanks!!! Do you find that its important to add the butter first into the food processor? Will it effect the outcome if butter is added last?
Yes! The steps are very important! You want to break the ice cold butter into the flour first, until it's grainy and only then add the water. :)
Hello Tatiana, can I use this method for the pie that you fry( like empanadas?)
Hello' please can you teach me about pie crust, thank you
Wow amazing recipe I’m gonna make it this weekend but I just have one question is there a specific time and temperature your supposed to bake it at. ❤️❤️
Hi! :) Perfect! What type of pie are you making? If you are blind baking the pie crust, I recommend baking at 350F/177C for 14 to 16 minutes, until it's golden brown
Should I make 2 batches for bottom & top pie crusts? Or, is this enough for both? Thank you!
I got pumpkin pie puree and 2 pie. Crusts without seeing the recipe was for 2 deep dish pies so i have a lot of unbaked filling and im going to just make my own crust.
I subbed in some margarine for butter so I did you 2/3 cup by weight (6oz) instead of volume. Hope the ratios work because usually you go by weight but a lot of simple recipes people use by volume.. Fingers crossed
Hi tatyana...thank u for the recipe...there are few tart recipe which adds egg yolks to it..
What difference would that make...I just wanted to know...
That's a great question - have that on my blog! The egg yolk makes for a richer crust; I like to add it to my quiche crust! But, it won't stand quite as long if you're making the dough ahead of time
Hi Tatyana, half recipe will give the same results? Tnks
Hi! Absolutely! This recipe will work great with half the ingredients. Enjoy :)
Thank you, your Beautiful
Im 13 and I've never cooked before but 2day is fathers day soo
This certainly is easy. First time I made, it came out perfect. Now, I am trying to do again and forgot for how long I baked. I know different dishes require different timing. Could you give some approximate time, say for quiche.
I'm so glad you enjoyed the recipe! Are you blind baking the crust? For blind baking, it takes about 20 to 25 minutes.
@@TatyanasEverydayFood Yes, blind baking it is. Thanks. You are very helpful.
💖👼🏻🌺
Can i replace the all pupose flour with wheat flour...cause the all purpose flour is hard to found here at my place...
Do you prefer using a food processor instead of a mixer with a dough hook for making dough? Also, are there times when hand mixing or kneading is more appropriate? 🤣
For this particular recipe, a food processor is the best choice. The butter needs to be crumbled with the flour, which a dough hook won't do properly. You don't need to knead this dough; the less handling, the better.
Help!
Where I can find the exact quantities of ingredients???
Hi! I have the recipe here: tatyanaseverydayfood.com/how-to-make-pie-crust/
Like you
Здравствуйте дорогая моя Таня спасибо большое за такое шикарное рецепты. Я про конкурс в курортный сезон приз какой миксер будет ?
Bosch egro mixx или Kitchen Aid artisan .
You're so welcome! :) I hope you enjoy it for all your pies and tarts! I'm not sure which mixer I'll be giving away during the holidays; probably a 5qt Kitchen Aid mixer like the one I gave away last time :)
Alright great! Now can I use this crust to make a Chicken pot pie 🥧?? Do you have a low salt recipe that you can recommend?? Okay so now I’m so hungry and I am stuck in New York rush hour traffic which means that by the time I get home it will be time to leave for work yet again!!!!🥧🥧🥧☕️☕️☕️
This recipe will be great for a chicken pot pie! I use it for both savory and sweet pies. Sorry, I don't have a recipe for chicken pot pie on my channel, yet!
beautiful ❤️🙈
Can u use a blender
You can use a pastry blender. I'm not sure about a regular blender, I've never tried.
A
Um the butter was too cold
It broke my food processor
I use the grating accessory on top of the food processor (if yours comes with one) or just grate it separately and and then incorporate it with the rest of the ingredients into the processor. I'm sorry about your appliance!
What if you don't have a food processor, to make your dough.
You can also use a coarse cheese grater and grate cold butter into the flour, tossing it so it's nicely coated.
Missing your epic cakes💔
I miss making them! Almost healed from my accident so I'll be making more soon! :)
What about eggs
No eggs in this recipe. However, you can add an egg yolk before adding the water, then adjust the amount of water.
I followed the recipe and it doesn't work, I had to throw out my crust. I use the food processor and it came too buttery/moist. I rolled out my crust and it's too sticky.
Hi! Sorry to hear that! Did you refrigerate the dough first before rolling it out? It needs to chill for at least 1 hour
Wanted to see I roll it out
I just followed your instructions to every word you stated and it still came out grainy, sandy, not a dough… what did I do wrong?
Hi Nancy Sorry to hear that! Sometimes the dough needs a few extra drops of water to come together. How many tablespoons of water did you add?
@@TatyanasEverydayFood - 1/4 cup ICED cold water… It did come together, after it rested about 20/30 mins. Thank you for responding and it was MY error… impatience’s
No sugar
I typically don't add sugar but you can add a tablespoon or two :)
Aaaaahhhhh.....I'm out of time! There are so many great videos to watch but so little time!: 😱
Too winded intro . Not interested
Clear baking instructions would have been great for this recipe, I also seriously doubt anyone is interested in reading a dissertation about pie crust before actually finding the recipe. Had to scroll down what felt like an encyclopedia to find it
Hi! Sorry for any confusion, I use this recipe a base for other recipes so the baking times and methods can vary greatly. I try to include tips for all situations :)
Um the butter was too cold
It broke my food processor
Oh, no!!! :( I'm so sorry to hear that! You can also use a classic pastry blender or two large forks to crumble the butter into the flour
(Naomi Shubert) In England my mother taught me to what she called to 'breadcrumb' the mixture using both hands to separately grab a bit of the mixture and rub the top of the fingers together quickly and letting the breadcrumbs drop. She never had a food processor and hands were well washed beforehand. Her pastry was very good. She made some kind of pie every week.
What an interesting technique! :) I remember using a pastry cutter years ago when we didn't have a food processor
