I was 13 when this was on & had a crush on Una Stubbs & oddly enough now 56 I still do as she was adorable & gorgeous.
You obviously have good taste. 👍
Me too, loved her since the early 1970s when I was a kid,she was absolutely delicious.
As a young lad I never thought she was attractive, quite the opposite. Now as I watch these videos I think she is a stunner. Refined and feminine.
Una Stubbs is just so pretty and a lovely sweet person
David Jason in a Golly Wog sweater !!!
Just wait....this video will now get reported and he'll end up having to insert his tongue as far up the PC brigades hole to vainly attempt to preserve his legacy...
They were very popular back then.
@@elframo Amazing isn't it? we had our own references, our own tribal behaviour, our own jokes, our own names for foreigners, ingroup preference, allsorts, just the same as any other culture
Classic!
@@elframo there was nothing racist said, you’re not very clever.
45 year mystery solved. K always thought GUAC had the same theme as Grange Hill but began to think I'd dreamt it lol. I was rather young.
Yeah grange hill had it first 😂
I remember that😂
Yes, it comes from a professional music library, and was not commissioned by either programme. That was always the cheapest way to get incidental music and theme music. It´s quite possible that the two teams did not realise they had picked the same track until they were into production and it was too late.
Nobody else will say it, but the real legend on here is Bob Todd.
99% of gargoyles would agree. 😁👍
"David you were only on the screen for about 30 seconds - I'm sure you'll make up for it" - lol saucer of milk for Mr Aspel.
Aspel wearing his blockbusters jumper, 4 years before blockbusters was ever heard of
David Jason with his Golliwog jumper lol.
Michael Aspel would host Blockbusters for the BBC in 1997.
That was called a "Val Doonican" ten years previously.
Blockbusters and beat the teacher were awesome kids tv
I think they dispensed with the general public team members in late series 😅
Before the onslaught of the juggernaut that is Only Fools & Horses, David Jason. Legend.
@@elframo nah I'll rephrase it instead. Living legend 😀
If you watch it with subtitles, Michael Aspel becomes Michael Asphalt.. Haha
Una, Prunella and Shirley. Wow!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Oh memories, how I remember Michael Asphalt........
Just went back in to see how my people did TV. Just for a laugh, now I'm addicted.
Older TV is excellent
CZcams is a gift. I've ditched most new TV shows and gone back to its heyday to recharge my funny bone. 😃👍
Love David Jason .on here.!.!!
What a glamourus lady Una was, much missed actress 👠
Those were the days. Una Stubbs stands out in particular.
David Jason looks like a young Mike Baldwin from Coronation street.
Who didn`t like the lovely Una Stubbs, she was the only reason I watched this back in the day..
Isn't that the theme tune to Grange Hill? Whaaaat.
It's called "Chicken Man · Alan Hawkshaw"
C'est magnifique - Sooty Street!😊
Wow David Jason ❤delboy
I love Una stubbs
Lovely woman.
Brilliant
Used to watch this in the 70's. Thought it was a silly game. Loved Una Stubbs, a real doll.
2 seasons 79 the rest 80s and to 92
So much so that she actually played a doll - Aunt Sally in Worzel Gummidge!
Early seasons featured a member of the public on each team - my father failed to realise this - so, on one edition (not this one), Lionel Blair, having introduced the celebrities, then announced the member of the public - can’t remember the name or where he was from - but dad said, “Never heard of him!”.
Quite surprised that even the members of the public were in the credits - imagine having your name under various personalities from the world of entertainment!
Those two non-celebrities were a couple!
I think they stopped using ordinary people when a bloke, misreading the card, tried to mime his own name - the card had the person’s name on one side and the film, book, play or television show they had to mime on the other side - and the bloke ended up trying to mime his own name - not sure what it was - but it was probably something that you couldn’t mime - from that day forward, they stopped using ordinary people an£ it was all celebrities after that!
@@arthurvasey Interesting.
@@arthurvasey Surely they would never have broadcast that?
David Jason - "The........second word (just point to jumper...)
Legend
Grange Hill theme tune?
Yes, it is and it`s arranged here by Alan Braden.
Theme tune sounds like grange hill
it is the same tune - The Chicken Man
written by Mr countdown, Alan Hawkshaw
Bangin’ tune, deserved more recognition.
David Jason was 39 here
Una Stubbs was class
Una Stubbs 😮😍🥰
They lifted the into music from Grange Hill!
Michael wants to play Blockbusters!
Prunella G ? ....she most definitely does need an introduction
She most definitely needed a good cosmetic dentist
Teeth like a Donegal graveyard.
Not back then, she didn't. First full frontal nude on British TV.
Gee
Give us a clue had the same theme tune as Grange Hill? I never noticed that as a kid
Sadly we lost alot of these great characters
Did he really call her, ‘Yuna’ Stubbs instead of ‘Una Stubbs’???!
The theme music was almost identical to Grange Hill.
99% of gargoyles look like Bob Todd
Careful with that spliff, Eugene, it causes condensation.
BJ and the bear.😂
Good idea that was, having members of the public on. Didn't last much into the 80s, if I recall correctly.
The rumour is one of the members of the public mimed their own name after reading the wrong side of the card
@@steveh31 that's funny. Would be great if it were true.
@@cricketexplained8526 On one infamous edition of the programme, the male member of the public was handed the title he had to mime on a card by host Michael Aspel, but rather than read the mime, he read the wrong side of the card on which his name was printed. He thus mimed his name to his teammates. Lionel Blair later wrote this incident led to the dropping of the public participants.
@@steveh31 That edition of Give Us A Clue is on CZcams & also featured an appearance by future Give Us A Clue team captain Liza Goddard.
@@AllenJeremy Yes I have seen it a few weeks ago
Bob Todd reminds me of Bill Bailey, they look so much alike and the same style of comedy.
This episode aired 3 December 1979
When was this?
1979
Is that the Grange Hill theme tune?
No
Yes they shared the same tune
3rd December 1979 transmission date.
Grange hill music!
Um the theme music?!? Grange Hill???
They shared the same music
Lionel Flares.
I ❤ aunt Sally
David Jason ..! Wot a plonker.!.😄
Grange Hill theme tune 🤔
Sally-anne-field looked stunning. Went on a date with Frank Sinatra and President Kennedy had a crush on her. Shame she had so much plastic surgery when she got older, she looked horrifying and unrecognisable.
I thought the girls questions were more difficult than the guys.
Girls = Frenzy - What's New Pussy Cat - She Stoops To Conquer - Stars On Ice - The TV Times - Bionic Woman
Guys = Gipsy - The Sooty Show - BJ and the Bear - Death On The Nile - Exchange and Mart - Danger Man
It was after this very show that I decided to turn my tv off and go out and get a job instead. 1979???
Bob Todd the Guvnor
I can't believe I used to watch this... Enjoyed it at the time though. There was only 3 TV channels at the time
3 good looking actress lady except the black hair 1
now im old looking back at this it was really terrible tv
As I remember it, this was at a time when the three TV channels finally extended their broadcast times. Instead of having 'intermission' or the 'test card' in the afternoons, we got shows like this instead. At the time we felt we were getting more value for our £34 TV Licence.
Una/Lionel and Bob are no longer with us
That makes the X factor look like mastermind.
Prunella Gee - a lovely actress whose party trick used to be eating a toffee apple through a letter box
Her turn in that costume in "Kinvig" was responsible for large numbers of young lads tuning in to watch it.
NO
David Jason was annoying on this tbh.
No he wasn't. You annoy me, though.
Terrible theme tune.
Michael Appel trying to be funny 😢😢
Wow David Jason must be psychic first he wears a Gollywog jumper and then has to describe the Sooty Show ! 😂👍
Yeah, why can't we just all go back to being good old-fashioned racists again? It never hurt anyone!
@@mrpositronia the majority of us never were racists but it hasn't stopped the BLM mob accusing us whities of it anyway and driving a wedge between us all ! 😏👍🇬🇧
@@mrpositronia Cry harder.
Lionel Biege.
12:21 For heaven's sake, "to" sounds like "two". Useless!
Good all days
