Oh my goodness! I love those dragons!
When color pencils break that often that usually means they are cracked on the inside. Like if they got dropped before you bought them. I would have that issue when I would order color pencils and they weren't packaged well.
I did order them from Blick shipped to me, so you’re probably right about them being broken inside (sadly). I wonder if colored pencils from a brick and mortar store like Joann would be any better?

Idea for you, is that, since you're recording footage, you can always just find a frame that you like from your footage, if it's in focus, then export that frame as a jpg. Also, you can have your partner tell you jokes or something that makes you laugh or smile and then find the best shot and use that instead of just feeling like you have to stand still.

That’s what I’ve just started doing and it makes the process so much easier! :) I think it’s a really great idea to have someone interacting with me off camera so it looks more natural though :)
