I recently did a video using the "nerfed" DeadRinger. I sure did love the old DeadRinger but the new one still has its uses if you are carful as you manage your various meters.

I love when the whole enemy team starts playing pyro because of one real good spy
Kinda reminds me of Soundsmith’s video “The human tripwire” where he plays spy and lures enemies to his friends who are ready to unload their beggar’s on them.
Same with scout. If you see one retreating, do not follow them; it's exactly what they want. As a scout main (I know, surprising), it's so much fun to blast overconfident enemies with a 100+ damage shot.

When you using kunai enemies your health packs
As unfun as snipers are, they are an all-in-one pack for anyone nearby, anyone can get a use out of a sniperpack, spy can get health, cloak and a speedboost, demoknight can get health, charge and a speedboost, medics can get that sweet 25% charge. And even if you get none of that, you get the satisfation of killing that annoying piece of shit YES HAHAHA

Me: burned to death by a pyro who heard my footsteps while im cloaked 20 miles from spawn
or melee'd by a sniper who turned back while sniping
well, i got fucking killed by a heavy who was 20 miles from me while i was cloaked keep in mind i didn't bump him, he just have a spidey sense tingling

Yea, i got charged by a spy disguising as his pyro and i thought "oh hey a pyro, free kill i guess" then he started sapping my shit and i was so fucking confused and then died

MrPaladin when low: Alright I'll get this Pyro to burn me or I'll jump off this ledge to trigger my dead ringer and then go trickstab someone all in 4.5 seconds.
Both: get blasted into gory bits by a stray soldier roaming.

2:50 I think the scout knew you were disguised as him, especially with all the bumping. I think they were just leaving you alone and becoming friendly because it's funny in the situation.
This seems like a stupid theory, but the scout played the line "thanks", when nothing else was happening, so that confirms it for me. Even if they were trying to press z instead to say spy, they obviously knew you were a spy.
What I like is Mr. Paladin makes wholesome informative content, no showing off skills in a cocky manner.
He simply just helps and entertains us.
The real question is how he found a game without bots
Probably recorded like 60 games
Popular maps (like pl_frontier here) are more likely to have enough actual people that there won't be bots.
I surprisingly got 8 match without bots out of 10 match
He played in between the timezones of 11am est to 5pm est idk why but there is alot less bots in between those times but that just my experience

dont play capture the flag because almost nobody is busy with anything when they see you, and are able to hear you decloak and spycheck for you way more often
Yesterday I sapped an Engi nest, and as soon as they heard "SPY SAPPING MY SENTRY" escape from those texan lips, they ALL forgot about the point, and ass-blasted me into the next subdimension.
I started watching mr.p because I really hate spies and I want to know their strategies so I can counter them.

This is the only spy main that actually teaches you how to play spy, i love how you point out the every detail from both your and the enemies perspective, like the smoke trail that follows you when you ringer for example, really useful stuff!

thanks to you mr paladin, i started to practice spy. ive gotten a few stair stabs! granted it's on a community server, but it's a start. thanks for inspiring me to get better at my worst class.
I was playing medic and helping a heavy, and he would run to the frontline, get some kills and run around the corner to get healed by me. This went on for about two minutes. But then an eternal reward spy got to him and I ubered him instead of the real heavy. My trust was betrayed man, me and that heavy had a thing ;-;

I really enjoyed the end where after the sentry nest took care of the pyros for you, you stabbed a demo trying to take out the nest. Nice little engie/spy solidarity. Love to see it.

I like the respawn wall hacks for seeing where your teammates are at, especially as medic, but I've always wondered whether being able to see disguised enemy spies is actually by design, or just a by-product of it that they didn't consider or care about changing, or can't change.

These videos always fill my spy main daily needs. Preciate it, MrPaladin.
This series has helped mea ton as a medic main. Basically just: "NEVER FOLLOW A SPY GOING UP" "CHECK YOUR BACK REGULALRY" and "COMMUNICATE WITH THE TEAM"
Its made the few genuinely good spies a nice challenge and not just server clearers.
I should add... "in a melee, a spy is never going the way he appears. Never adjust the direction you look, and you'll never get matador stabbed"
Thats the best secret tbh. Sure a good spy will adjust, but it makes many lesser spies doubt their trickstab abilities. And then hackusations may fly if you never fall for it.

I hate the dead ringer. I wanted to like it, I really didn. It's so frustrating though and it's so slow. And it doesn't help when it fools literally no one.
I hate how long is resistance lasts. Like hell, as a pyro you can chase deadringered spy as long as you would melt soldier or even heavy just because they take no damage (yet they're still visible and the cloak doesn't last forever)

IMO the problem is that it's more useful to tank damage using it as opposed actually using it to feign death.

I bought two copies of TF2 nearly on release date 14 years ago during my first year of marriage. My wife and I spent countless hours playing this game and watching it grow. We even ran a couple of servers for about a year and had an awesome little community. I had a kid who messaged me on Steam not long ago thanking me for all of the memories when he was 12 years old and had deadbeat parents who neglected him. Now that kid is in college and has turned into a fantastic young man. TF2 will never die as long as it has great people like MrPaladin. Of all my hours into the game, spy is the class by far that I have played the least, but I watch every one of Paladin's videos as I find spy to be vastly more fun to witness than play. Thanks for all of the memories Mr P.

I just can't believe that people just don't pay attention to decloacks, I can't wait 2 seconds without turning around and any sound ticks me off but people take dead ringer deacloacks like a bird singing sometimes
Mr. Paladin: Literally all enemies are deaf and magnetically attracted to one direction
Me: Breathes for two seconds out of spawn with 3 Pyros glaring me down
When your playing spy in casual and you decloak 2 miles away from a pyro: *Pyro starts spraying fire like a mad man*
When you join a game in csgo as a silver, and its down to your teammate and a enemy flanker who broke the vent behind them: *Teammate continues to blindly stare at the spot*

Tip: always decloak a few galaxies away from a pyro

I love the dead ringer. It makes you more sustainable when enemy notices you. For me the best tip is if the dead ringer’s not working out for you in a game switch it off. It’ll confuse the enemies and force them to change how they track you down. It won’t ever give you highest killstreak or key picks since being invisible all the time is much more effective but it’s a weapon we should learn to use.

I do the same tricks and strategies that you do before watch your video. The only difference is that I panic and forget that I'm playing a support class and I don't have to deal with all the enemies when they come at me together.
You video helps me to see that I'm doing the things right but I need to think what I'm doing and try to relax xD
Idk how your gameplay with spy is so perfect. Everything is set up juuust right for you to get those perfect stabs. And nobody ever hears the Uncloak sound?? Brooo. I can’t Uncloak with the deadringer ACROSS THE MAP unless I want to be gunned down by the entire enemy team. Idk how you do it but god is it impressive
Make your own luck. Do the things that should set you up right. Once in a while the stars align (like here).

I am convinced you have invis watches with less volume. Ive decloaked mid fire fight further than a dozen or so of these dead ringer decloaks and get noticed all the time.
Decloak sounds are actually client-side and people mod to make them louder in most cases unfortunately.

I really have to thank you Mr. Paladin. I started to play tf2 in December 2020 and spy is my favorite class, but I never understood how to use the dead ringer properly 'cause it's much different from an inviswatch.
PS even tho I got different hats I like the gibus a lot, it suits well with spy's suit in my opinion
Personally, I find the ""new"" dead ringer works really well when defending specifically when you have spawn close to you as it allows you to try for a stab and if you fail you always have a safe place to fully reset. This way of using the DR is particularly good on upward 2nd and last due to how close the defending spawns are and how many routes you can take to look for stabs
But if you reset in spawn.... you might as well die and respawn instead. Not much time difference
@@MrPaladin I find that due to the speed boost the difference is just enough to still be able to apply pressure to the enemy team mainly due to how close those spawns are especially if you use the big earner as you could try and pick up a stab to refill it and immediately go back in due to the ease of escape the DR can provide and how close your team/spawn is
