There's no way this video stays monetised with the amount of music in it, so if you're in a position to become a Patron & support the series that would be great! patreon.com/clisare. Also, here is a Spotify playlist of the songs that were sung on the night so you can check out various versions of them: open.spotify.com/playlist/6UNK29hZKipg4hV0dlhN4K Thanks so much to Bunk Campers for making this trip possible! --> www.bunkcampers.com/

The name Tipperary conjures strange images and old memories in my head! I am from India and my father worked for a gentleman by the name Lawrence Short. He owned a coffee estate in Yercaud, India in the 1950's. Was this gentleman from Tipperary? I don't know! Because there was an estate by the name Tipperary there too! I don't know if he was Irish, maybe from England. In the 40's and 50's there were a lot of British people in India who knew nothing about England. Just sharing my old memories! Jim O' the Mill is such a quintessentially Irish place. I envy you -- in America it feels like we've systematically eliminated all our gathering places and we're all living in our little bubbles. Heck, we even build towns that have no town square; they're just a random assortment of housing subdivisions and strip malls. I love the Irish for hanging onto their traditions. And I could certainly relate when you said, "YOU HAVE TO GO!" My daughter was invited to sing at Gartlan's Pub in Kingscourt - three songs! It was truly an amazing, amazing experience. Clare, mother of gawd. That's an amazing video that needs to be archived in a safe vault. The story of Jim O' The Mill is pure Irish history. Maybe the county council of Tipp would sponsor this.

That was amazing! I can see why it's so busy in there, I bet they could make that pub three times the size and it'd still be packed full every time.

Edit: Thank you Clisare for this video, it put a huge smile on my face.

Fantastic Clare loved every moment of the video. TYVM for sharing this experience with us. I'm sure the Tipperary puns were hard to resist and impossible to avoid at times. Jim o' The Mill very entertaining listening to his recount of the history. I'm sure you had a grand time, while your co-pilot Miss Millie held down the fort in the camper van. As always, all the best to you and yours and scritches for Miss Millie.

I LOL'd at the lady who said "is that a threat or a promise" as I've been saying that since I was like 10 or 11, lol too funny! Ok, so I can see how some people would absolutely love this. I like the concept and the sharing of comraderie and culture. That said, I think I'd find it too crowded and too loud. Recently a new bar opened near me that is themed as a "Witches Bar," and the cocktails are called "Spells" and so on. I really want to go, but seeing pics from within it looks quite small and very crowded/busy. I'm sure I'll go at some point, but while I don't mind crowds and loud music...I don't like them "in my face" so to speak. Regardless, this place looked awesome! Sláinte! ~Be Blessed

This is just lovely. Thank you for sharing. If I ever have the chance to visit Ireland, other than going to well-known attractions, this is what I would love to do, having a true local experience with everyday people and who doesn't like to hear stories about the good old days, they are always filled with knowledge and intrigue.
