Saw him perform at an air show in Merriden WA. Was simply jaw dropping. What I remember is the RAAF F18 pilots simply looking up in slack jawed wonder and disbelief at what they were seeing.
My heart missed a beat during one of his cobra manoeuvres (5:01) when instead of the usual leveling out, he almost completely stopped, pulled back and flew high alpha inverted. All done barely above the track. Amazing power to weight ratio and pilot skill.
An excellent posting, thanks. I love the enthusiasm of the commentator - "Woo hoo!" Small voice from spectators copying - "Woo hoo!" The noise and the smell would be intoxicating. I've seen JK flying, and normal adjectives fail to portray his skill, daring and spectator inter-action. He truly gives great value for money! He is a regular and much admired visitor to Warbirds Over Wanaka. Peter, NZ.
