50 years ago, a masterpiece made history.
Axes ....and still does.
@@governorofthedeathstar1680 53 years and counting!
A bit of an exaggeration. How is 2001 on the same level as the Mona Lisa or Ode to Joy
@@jasonator69er you’re right it’s a higher level
and "thus spoke Zarathoustra" was first played 27th of november 1896 by Richard Strauss himself, more than a century ago
I still can't comprehend that this movie came out nearly 60 years ago and still looks visually incredible
True, watched it a few days ago and it's indeed incredible.
Stanley tapped in to something

Practical effects always do it for me. Practical effects always bring a sense of realism. CGI on the other hand? Eh.
Never had a conductor get me so hype before......WOOOOOOOOO!!!!!
What does a conductor actually do
Conducts

Bro was into it! He was loving every minute
At age six, the first film I ever saw in a theatre. the reason I became a pilot, sci fi fan and builder of robots.
Wow!
Keep at it man, great job on your work so far!!
Strange but also good first movie, I can’t imagine watching it young though, it’s a good but confusing movie. And one of my all time favourites.
greatest opening soundtrack of greatest film ever
And the greatest wrestler ever.
Let’s not forget about me Presley too..
ever
It always gives me chills to see the passion in the eyes of any conductor
He was totally blissing out!
i think the conductor enjoyed himself there lmao
I mean, imagine conducting this piece, I’d be hyped asf
He is probably very passionate about what he does
My pal Carl Sagan
What conductor wouldn't? Check this out: czcams.com/video/4aVMetrLGZ0/video.html
@Aviator Law Nobody gives a shit.
This should be played everytime a rocket is launched!
YES! So much yes.
rockets are really loud tho

Agreed.
Or when Monoliths are discovered
I will honestly never tire of this.
Me neither.. blue toothing it on max in my car now..!!
I'm sorry Dave I'm afraid I can't do that........
Why not? 🤔
gone off beans playing a song by the Doors.
This answer changed the world we live in now..Its amazing Kubrick saw today's world in 1968..
Shut up, like beggar.
Dave, just what do you think you are doing?

I took my kids to see this movie. They never let me forget it.
This is my favorite version of the song out of all of the CZcams videos.
Still gives me goose bumps everytime I hear it play!
16-Time World Champion, RIC FLAIR!!!
lmao for a second i thought it was carl sagan conducting
Me too for 2 tenths of second ! ;-)
edo it's quite obviously Robert Carlyle...
Yeah the conductor looks like carl Sagan.
That actually kinda works, as Carl hosted a tv show called "cosmos" in the 70's.
what is the name of this ?? Its like the birth of creation coming to my eardrums
It is so epic, the goosebumps are almost unbearable.
Same, it's the anticipation and then you're rewarded
This feels so grandiose and epic, just like the film.
Wow! I can't imagine hearing this for first time because I grew up hearing it in adverts and on TV. There's such satisfaction when those punches complete the melodies, I swear it's better each time you hear it. I get goosebumps, a sense of awe and pride of man's achievements whilst respecting the talent and hard work to create something so beautiful and powerful
This will be forever remembered. Even if not by name. It will be remembered by sound. Everyone has heard this before. Truly, a timeless masterpiece.
What a fun song
Just listened to this 10 times

I’m an amateur pyrotechnician and use this musical score for my opening and the crowd is never disappointed 👍🔥
This represents all the world united to achieve and concord a goal for mankind. Beautiful music.
Listening to this makes everything epic, I made a sandwich to this and it felt monumental.
Putting this on full blast with my sub woofers, tweeters, open windows, surround max sound, and yeahhhhhhhh feeelll the powerrr!!
When the horns do that descending scale...OH! What a set-up for the final flourish! Bravissimo!
anybody else set this as their alarm in the morning?
Spill Burg no but I know what I'm doing right now
Spill Burg now I’m thinking of doing it and hoping I can😂
no, but I absolutely will do now!
I do. it's seriously loud
DUde thats a great idea XD

This plays ever morning I hit the can. Great start to the day
"To be the man, you gotta BEAT the man! WOOoOoOoooo!!"

This composer is having the time of his life
Gives me chill bumps. You can tell he's digging conducting this piece!
Anyone would be
This is as close to the original as I’ve heard EVER! POWERFUL ENDING!!! BADASS!!! perfect tempo and everything
Brava!! Thank you, I'll have another, please. Simply loved this the moment I first heard it back in the 60's. 👍🏽🤠 2/8/23
Amazing that Richard Strauss was able to take this piece of music and turn it into a much longer epic, shows not only has he fantastic taste in films, but music also! Hates off to you, mate 👍
I got bad eyes. When I first saw this I thought Carl Sagan was conducting. Carl would be happy with this performance. Thank you for sharing.
That timpani crescendoing to triple forte just gives me goose bumps and to be in that orchestra playing such an iconic piece of music must be the thrill of a lifetime!!
Exquisite: thank you!
It never gets old.
Beautiful
2 minutes and 1 second of pure art , which evokes deep emotions . Divine

I've never seen it played before! Thank you!
Chills from the 1st downbeat ❤️ Chills throughout ♥️
“And now we go to school”
"Diamonds are forever and so is Ric Flair".
Love to hear the organ holding the fort at the end. I believe the Lyon Auditorium organ was built from the Cavaillé-Coll organ of the old Trocadero?
Looked like the conductor was thinking "I can't believe i'm actually doing this....and i'm nailing it!!! I'm absolutely smashing it out the frickin ball park!"
the Masterpiece of all the masterpieces...
And that was the whole orchestra 👏
Trombone's.....love that loudness
WOOOOOOOOOO!
WOOOOO!!!
Una de mis favoritas ❤❤❤. Me encanta ❤
Simply....AMAZING!!
great performance, Bravo.
My God, it’s full of stars.
Every time I hear this musical masterpiece, I think of Elvis.
thank you very much 🎶
Me too!!!!!!! I first heard this at his 1974/75 New Year's Eve concert in Detroit, Michigan b4 he walked onto the stage! Wasn't sure if God was showing up OR Elvis!!!!!!!! It was THAT monumental & epic a performance of this piece of music! 86K ppl in attendance & everybody in my section wanted 2 borrow my pair of binoculars! Women throwing their panties & bras at him in the front! A concert I will NEVER forget! He was the GREATEST & most FAMOUS performer on the planet in my eyes, at the time!
Flair should walk out with his $5,000 robe on. Lol
So much intensity packed into so little time! It always leaves me wanting more!
At the early Fm stereo Transmissions at the late 60's, Radio Nacional Argentina started the stereo broadcast with this fragments, was a pleasure to hear it stereo
Such power!

Magnifique lecture et interprétation. Moins brutale que certaines versions, aussi précise qu'une lame de rasoir ! Elle exalte le romantisme du prologue... Merci pour le partage !
I like this music. I have it in my playlist(cinema and TV music).
awsome!
I'm sorry for the legacy of Richard Strauss, but this music will remain forever associated to Stanley Kubrick.
It’s not like Stanley deserves most of the credit for why this song is even heard by anybody at all or anything
@@mrshadrack8554 it actually was his decision, he didn’t like the music his composer made so he just went with that
no Ric Flair
