Yes, you can use BL 5C battery , but you should see before using the old battery , whether it was in same voltage ,or not. BL 5C is a mobile battery having 3.7V DC.
In the radio receiver system either IF or CF or SIF must be there , and if no gang is used , there must have a tuning resonance circuit. which might be faulty .In case of these type receiver we have to remove the faulty components and replace it to solve the issues. Thank you ..

@@MyhobbyElectronics The radio which you show is an old one like my set manufactured in 2009. But the new set of Bahadur DL 167 has no such parts. All parts are built in. There is no oscillator coil, no open gang so nobody can adjust the new set now available. In my old set I could adjust the oscillator coil and solved the problem. A station was not coming in correct metre so I adjusted the coil. But how can anyone adjust the new set which has no oscillator coil? All parts in the recent set (purchased by my friend) is sealed and built in.
If the radio set having FM band and using currently, there might be some problems coming from Coil alignment, or Gang capacitor, if the radio set is not using for long time in FM band must be cleaned the band switch by using cleaning fluid. I think this might be solved the problem.

There are no coils and IF s in recent version. Even the gang is sealed . You cannot adjust it.
