Hi, I am in the UK. I am looking at making a clay sculpture of my dog (bust). I will make it out of clay, and hope to the make a 'negative' from silicone and plaster of Paris casing to give some ridgidity to the silicone. I hope to the have the silicone bust filled with wax to then go on to make a bronze bust. What is the best clay to start out on? Would it be a water or oil based clay? I must say that your methods are clearly meticulous and impressive. How long did it take you to do? Thank you in advance.
