Thank you for posting this. My 16 month old has some hearing concerns and is really behind on her speech. She was supposed to start speech therapy last month but lost her medical insurance so now I can start working with her from home. I will be looking into the book too.

So beautiful. I am having such a challenge because I'm the only native Spanish speaker for my babies (my babies are Turkish ) and also people speak Arabic here (and hubby and I speak English too ). So,when I'm teaching a word in Spanish, my toddler repeats in Turkish and so on. It's been tough.

Thank you for these tips. I am concerned my 16 month old toddler is delayed in speech. All he says is "gogo" if we are leaving, "no" of course, a lot of "ah" and "mmmm" and sometimes "da" and a lot of temperamental whining I think because he knows I dnt understand him. He rarely points.

Nathalie Mathurin hi. My daughter is now 3. Her speech is a little better. But not where she should be at 3 she is still far behind. However i took her to see a specialist and she been diagnose with autism. I knew in my heart she had autism. She is still in speech Therapy. And goes to pre k full term. So hopefully in time she will get better. You should see a specialist. And have your child evaluated. Mean while try speech Therapy.

+Nathalie Mathurin I hope everything works out. you can try reading to him. and teach him at home. buy learning books for toddlers and try to have him arpund other children his age. that can help.
