Surfing exists in real life
One of the biggest things in life a person can accomplish is being happy with what you have. That takes time effort and awareness. It's like training yourself. Now don't get me wrong, I'm not saying don't strive for something better. ALWAYS strive for something better, but in a healthy way, while you are also enjoying the life you have now. Social media gives people unfulfillable desires, a constant form of distraction that fucks up your brain and hormones and distracts us from our actual life, which in the end caused many people to be depressed and drove them to nihilism, and basically being a "doomer". Learning to live is A THING. And you cannot learn to live if you're on your phone 8 hours a day. You need to get out there and have real human connection and actually do some real shit. Or there will be no doubts that healthy relationships, marriages and families will be done and gone in the future, because we won't have mature people anymore. Most teenagers nowadays have social anxiety, wonder why.

When I was a kid, I’m so thankful to have a childhood before social media took a stranglehold on the development of human beings as a whole. It didn’t really kick off until I became a teenager in high school. It’s nuts to see how elementary level kids act now compared to how they acted back before the internet was raising people to be fake in every regard. It’s making everyone more vitriolic, hateful and more disrespectful than ever before. It’s alarming and it feels like nothing can be done because the people behind this most likely know that there is already a generation of people now who know of nothing but technology as a part of their life and they will capitalize on the fact that they don’t care that there was once a time where we had to interact with the world and be present. It’s scary to think that the very nature we come from will become obsolete and humans will blindly ignore their problems and suffer the consequences of a crippling addiction that is far too powerful for many to realize.
