    Amercan here, been to Coventry in 1971 during a tour of the UK, only thing I saw there was the famous church that was bombed by the Germans in WWII.

Just look at the recent celebration of St. George’s day, the celebrators were surrounded by the police like bunch of criminals. British culture is an offensive thing in Londonistan.

      @@w4ka997I walk most of that route on a fairly regular basis. Quite a few Chinese students studying at Warwick University are housed in Coventry. Most of them in specialist student accommodation. Plenty of tower cranes. Usually a good sign.

    I grew up in Cov. In the 70s at any time of day there would be at least 3 fights going on in the precinct normally between groups of National Front affiliated skin heads and some Asians. Or at kicking out time outside Park Lane night club or Busters ( remember them) someone would be getting knifed or filled in. That’s why Ghost Town was written. Still love the city and culture though. Always will!

    I used to live there several decades ago, when did it become a third world city I wonder? In hindsight the Luftwaffe should have been left alone to complete their mission.

    I have heard it said that Coventry was a no go area during the late 70s - early 80s after 5 or 6 pm so I suppose at least they've beaten their own record.

      Looks like a good pedestrian shopping area. With alot of shops still open. Most places are just board city's

      It was starting to become a wealthier and growing city either side of the Lockdowns from what I heard. Warwick arts centre worth checking out too...

      No I don't. St George's day today, celebrate it we don't want to lose it. I remember the old England. You could leave your door unlocked, neighbours were friendly kids played out all day on the streets. I want my England reclaimed
