As a fellow bobbin lacer, I have to say that (in my opinion) Exquisite Lace is your best lace pattern to date. I also have to say that the perforated paper three-dimensional nesting dolls idea was inspired. How creative!
I am always amazed with your designs! I love the exquisite lace and nesting dolls the most, but they are all beautiful. You are so talented, Arlene, and I wish you much success at market. Pam Miller
Thank you for sharing your info on blackwork. I am very interested in learning new stitching techniques and would value your input on a beginner pattern and books. Have a great Spring.
Hi Arlene, Thanks for designing the Afikomen bag. (already ordered). The crumbs in the hiding place are a source of conversation all year. Looking forward to stitching it. Enjoy Nashville! Lynn
These are such beautiful and really crea tday I've designs. Enjoyed seeing all these designs. I've seen your Passover items already somewhere online, and hold an interest as my husband's family is Jewish and I enjoy sharing in their celebrations. Have a great time in Nashville.
Hi Arlene! Very exciting to see all of your releases for Market. I love the array of styles that you create. The exquisite lace is fantastic! I also love these nesting biscornu; such a great idea. I think my favourite one is the one inspired by Islamic art as I love geometry too. Wishing you a very enjoyable and prosperous Market.
Hi Arlene! I just found you- WHAT ROCK HAVE I BEEN UNDER!! Wow!! I absolutely love your designs. Had to stop the video and go shop your Etsy store, Liked and subscribed immediately, And sent a message before videos end to my LNS for my Nashville order. Love, love, love, all that you’re doing. As a matter of fact, so much so, I am going to feature you in a segment on my flosstube next video. I will be sure to tag you in the description of the video so you are aware when it goes up. I and my friend Liz are the Antique Needleworkers. Thrilled to have spent time with you this morning!! Wishing you a prosperous market!!
Hi, Shellie - Thank you so much for stopping by! My stitch group often shares recommendations for FT to watch and I know that your videos were mentioned recently. You went on my "must watch when I get a chance" list and...well...Nashville prep and all. But I have some boring mindless collating/bagging work to do this afternoon and I'll definitely swing by for a visit while I'm working. I appreciate your kind words - it truly means a lot - and love that you love my new designs!
Just found you when I saw your beautiful cross stitch lace design on Instagram. Can't wait to purchase this and get it started. Will be following your design work.
Hello Arlene. The Russian nesting dolls can be called as such but are known as matryoshka not babushka. Matryoshka isn't too hard to pronounce, just ignore the Y 🙂
Beautiful new releases! The sulky thread band is wonderful, I personally like gold hardware, but if you really don’t you could spray paint it black or blue, maybe silver? Or hang from ribbon and dowl rods? Always enjoy you sharing your thought processes for your designs!
Hi Arlene. All of your new designs are very beautiful and creative. However, I will be contacting a needlework store to purchase Exquisite Lace for me. It is breathtaking! I took some bobbin lace classes in the past so I have always loved lace and your design is just stunning. Thank you for sharing and good luck and safe travels to and from Needlework Market.
I agree - silver/black/pewter is what would look best. Don't know if I can get anything that will work before Nashville, though. Thanks for stopping by!
Your lace design is well named. I live in the UK, so I don't know how I will be able to get hold of the pattern or the fabric and threads. I had never even heard of this thread before. I love your videos and your designs, thank you for making them.
Thank you so much for the kind words! If you are unable to get my patterns at this time, no worries - in about a month, they will be available in my Etsy store, either a paper copy or a pdf (which is often really help for international customers). As for fabric and threads, you truly can use any fabric and any thread you want. It is a monochrome design. So if, for example, you like stitching on 28 count linen or 16 count aida or whatever, use what you like and use whatever thread and however many strands you prefer for the coverage you like. 🙂
Beautiful work, Arlene!! That Exquisite Lace piece had my jaw dropping! And those nesting dolls are adorable and so clever! I wish you lots and lots of luck in Nashville!!!
Thank you so much, Olivia - love so much hearing from friends! I can remember us sitting in Needle in a Haystack in 2019 when I visited (just around this time, surrounding the President's Day weekend, 4(!) years ago) and you asking me about Nashville, did I think I would ever be interested, etc. I know at the time I said something along the lines of not being able to imagine it, being at that level of designing, etc. But, even knowing that someone thought I would be good enough to someday show my designs on that level meant the WORLD to me. Thank you for this. Hoping there will be in person hugs somewhere, some day soon! ❤
Hope those crumbs the kids leaves are unleavened! Lol! I have never seen your designs that I know of. I am intrigued by all. But that first lace design is breathtaking! I’m more Monogamous but I will have to see all your other have designs now. That is stunning! Good luck on getting these designs all out. My friend will love the stacking dolls!
Your Exquisite Lace piece is absolutely gorgeous! I also love your little nesting dolls! Very unique! You showed such lovely designs today. Enjoy Market, and I hope it's a wonderful success for you!
I just found you. I am so in love with exquisite lace. I MUST own it. I don't know if my LNS will be in Nashville because we are in Indiana. Love the 7 fold design but if you come out with a pattern involving geometry proofs, I may have to unsubscribe 😂. Your band sampler reminds me of a bell pull and I never understood what sulky threads were. Learn something new.
Thank you so much! If your local store is not attending Nashville, there would be plenty of stores out there that would be happy to mail to you. As I mentioned in the video, if you are looking for a suggestion, I highly recommend TopKnot Stitcher (link is in the description)
Hi Arlene, such exciting releases! Doing the matryoshka in perforated paper is a genius idea, and I literally laughed out loud when you took out that tea towel 😂. Exquisite lace. For some reason DMC floche and Sulky are not easily available here, so I will find alternatives. For the band sampler, the gold bell pull finish is nice but I would prefer something made of wood, not sure what . I remember the original design but like it a lot better as a band sampler. I hope I get to pre-order. Take care!
So lovely to hear from you, Saho! Thank you so much for your kind words - means a lot that you like these new designs. If you are unable to pre-order/have a store ship to you, all of these patterns will be available in my Etsy store as pdfs in a month or so - first week of April. Take care!
There may be an Australian store or two? Here is the list of buyers - you can check if any are from Australia. www.needleworkretailer.com/nashville/buyer-list.htm Also, I will have all of these available in my Etsy store in about a month and you can purchase pdfs then. Thanks so much for your interest!
Is ur IG under ur name? I'd love to follow you there too! Please tell me you post to New Zealand? I haven't done embroidery in years, have been doing crochet for the last 3 years but was thinking recently about getting back into x stitch & I'd love to buy one of ur packs 😃
My IG is @worksbyabc (long stupid story of why I'm not worksbyabc here on Flosstube, why this is channel is in my name and why I can't change it) - please come follow me! Yes, I ship internationally, although many of my international customers really appreciate the pdf options I offer in my Etsy store - immediately download, print, and get started stitching. I know pdfs don't work for everyone, but just wanted to mention it. So glad I popped up in your feed!
@@worksbyabc I'm following you now 😃 (I'll show up as username Gumpilicious 🙂) can't wait to have a poke thru ur work/pics!! I don't have any X stitch supplies left anymore, I haven't done it for years so would prob be easier to buy a whole kit with the floss etc included. Plus I'm not sure what great of a selection we have here in NZ, we are 100% WAAAAY behind USA/Canada with most things & the prices for regular yarn etc here are thru the roof!!

Great video, great designs and I’d prefer silver or black - maybe wrought iron hardware for the band sampler.

@@worksbyabc I was just joking. Those are all unleavened. But very cute and interesting to learn about.
Another great video, Arlene! Love your Nashville designs, especially Exquisite Lace. It really is exquisite! Have fun at market!!
