Definitely the best looking spoiler for these cars. Keen to get one on my 2020 R final edition. Think it was an option from factory perhaps I nearly brought one that had it from new but missed out. Haven't checked yet hope you left your link cos you sound Aussie and so am I 😊

I got a white but so much black on it including moonroof black so I'm happy to go black keep the two tone going lol 😂

also you had blue tape but then when you put them on, it change to red. did you change the tape?
@@chuwmumamark2848 hey mate no worries! the red tape was 3M tape that came with the spoiler. I used strips of the 3M in addition to the sikaflex adhesive to stick the spoiler to the car. The blue tape I only used to hold the spoiler in place as the sikaflex (with the 3M tape) dried and created a strong bond to the car. So that’s why I removed the blue tape the next morning.
How do you place it down? I'm worried I place it wrong and I cant relift

What’s the best way to take one of these off mate? Mines damaged so I need to replace it

Yeh I used both - had no issues with it at all so far!
Do you know how thick the 3m tape you used was?
Not sure, it was actually supplied with the spoiler when I got it. But it was pretty thin
Also you can piss off all the adhesive tape and replace it all over with gorilla extra strength tape

Alternatively Ali express has some cheaper ones (but shipping can be quite expensive) that I think could be just as good, but the estimated wait was much longer for me. Such as this one:

Just make sure you get one that fits your car properly eg mk 7 vs mk 8

where did you get the spoiler, i’ve bought my second oettinger style spoiler and it doesn’t fit 🤔.
It's what you have to expect sadly if you buy a 'style' spoiler rather than the original part. They are normally reverse engineered so will almosts always not fit correctly

Rarely, but if I do I use touch free auto car washes
Can you take the spoiler back off if you wanted to sell the car, for example?
I think it would be difficult but you probably could with some effort

Anyone installed these with just tape and it does the trick? If anyone wants to steal it I dont want to be left with adhesive markes on the paint and yes it's happened me in the past with an old car 😔

7:15 gap is because you bought fake Oettinger - the real thing fits perfect
Yeh interesting - I think it’s generally unnoticeable so worth the savings, but definitely something to consider!

@@chuwmumamark2848 mine was around £500 after being painted mate, find an official Oettinger supplier (don’t go for eBay or anywhere it says “Oettinger STYLE” only go for genuine)
Exactly, I sent fake one back , absolute junk. Only way is get the proper One but there not cheap! 😁

Does it matter what tape you use to hold it down?
Not really, just make sure it’s got a very strong grip so the spoiler doesn’t fly off!!
