St John's CofE First School Royal Wedding

We've been celebrating our very own 'Royal Wedding' at St John's CofE First School in Bishops Wood.
Last week the sun was shining as the whole school visited our church to act out a pretend wedding. After the ceremony we returned to school to celebrate with a reception including a formal wedding breakfast and speeches.
This fantastic experience enabled our learners to:
► link the Royal wedding and British values with our Christian beliefs. ‘A friend loves at all times’ (proverbs 17:17)
► create an immersive learning environment which allowed them to become fully involved
► make their learning visible to allow them to fully understand emotionally and spiritually what it is like to be part of a Christian wedding in the eyes of God.
