    The satisfaction you get from making your own sissy bar is a bonus for the satisfaction of having and using it.
    Well done.
    Ever think about going into the fabrication biz ? I have an '04 Fat Boy that could use one.

      Very true! Thanks Jersey J. Yes I did think about making these as a side business, but I recently started working for Harley-Davidson Motor Co, so I cant have a business that would compete or conflict with my job.

    Hi, could you give the dimensions? the height of the whole or what length bar you used, the thickness of the bar, the diameter of the circle around which you bent the top. Metal sheet thickness etc. Please 🙂

    • @dafigie
      @dafigie  Před rokem +1

      5/8" solid round steel. Plates atlre 1/8" thick. Sissy bar is 26" high above the top of the fender struts (measured perpendicular to the fender struts)

    Did you think of the jig like that by yourself or did you find a design you went off of?

    • @dafigie
      @dafigie  Před 4 lety +1

      Yes, first I took some measurements on the bike. Then sketched up how I wanted the sissy bar to look. From there, I came up with the jig design.

    Hey David, what's the height of the bar from mounting point?

    • @dafigie
      @dafigie  Před 3 lety

      It came out to be 26 inches high, measured perpendicular to the top of the fender struts. So about 26.5 to the mounting holes.

    What size did you drill for the holes

    • @dafigie
      @dafigie  Před 3 lety

      I drilled them 1/2 inch for the side plates. After powder coating, they ended up smaller though and I had to drill them again. To make it easer on yourself, id go 9/16 inch diameter.
