      it is difficult to calculate weakness in positional chess, you can only take advantage.AK is very good at critical exchange points, positional attacks carry over vulnerabilities, if used with tempo, you cant survive.you can't win some games? would be interesting to float that one.

    She's 2530. The last time Magnus was 2530, he was 15 years old. This is just a very strong chess player who should simply be considered a middle-level GM... against a Super GM. The Super GMs eat other GMs for breakfast. That this person happens to have won an Affirmative Action title means nothing in chess. This is the world's #606 playing against the world's #1. Her odds going into this were about 1/15 chance of draw, 1/75 chance of win. I think it's cool that she decided to play in this tournament even though she knew what would likely happen.

      @@dreamdiction for physical sport - agree, but in terms of mental capacity, there is no difference. There are theories that the bell curve for women is taller and narrower while the man tends to be shorter and wider which suggest women dominate the average IQ while men dominate both - the extreme r3t4rds and the extreme genius ends but that's being debated.

    • @dreamdiction
      @dreamdiction Před 2 lety +79

      @@miusukamadoto6805 I know about the comparison between men's bell curve and women's bell curve BUT I have very strong doubts that those IQ statistics are actualy true. I have been an IT professional for over 30 years, I have personally worked with MANY female IT Managers and not one of them could code, they simply made their whole IT career out of emotionally manipulating men into doing things for them.
      I see the same thing happening in chess. Kosteniuk is only a "2530" if you accept the cherry-picking of games by the assessors who exaggerate her chess grading so as to force lower level players into the "GM" category for political/social reason which have nothing to do with chess ability. So theoretically she's a number 606 but this is absurdly generous because she's actually not much more than a good club player. Women are nothing in men's chess just as the Williams sisters are nothing in men's tennis.
      She's a "woman rapid chess champion" but a real chess player competes with all other chess players. If women can only compete against other women then being a woman is a type of disability, like the para-Olympics.
      I believe all male/female categories in all mental and physical activities should be abolished. Men must stop pandering to women's contradictory demands for both "equality" and privileged "special treatment" as if they are children. If women cannot compete on equal terms with men in all physical and mental tasks then women do not deserve any recognition or rewards.

    I find the commentors are too hung up on Magnus's ball sack. Yes he's the best player in the world, arguably all time, but his opponents are very capable and have good moments. From hearing the commentators speak, Magnus always has his opponent cornered after e4 e5. It'd be nice if they bring up good moves made by opponents and didn't write them off at the outset all the time. It even cheapens Magnus' victories as it makes it come across as if he won merely because his opponents are tourists instead of him being superior to incredibly strong adversaries.
