While I've done a wealth of modeling and 3D printing in various guises, I've been looking for that right flavor to get into CNC. I've watched a half dozen of these tutorials the last few days, and while some were useful, they all felt like info coming from people who've forgotten what it feels like to do this from scratch. This one felt like someone who speaks my language. Very easy to pick up, and I've figured out the right process for me to adapt. Many thanks, Lars!

Back when i first started work in a small engineering firm back in the 80's they used to have some cnc equipment and i always remember the manual programming of the machine and then the rapid hitting of the emergency stop when you noticed that you had put z-50 rather than z50 or similar. This stuff you've just demonstrated is truly amazing and must reduce boring bars into the chuck incidents massively.

    Excellent video.
FYI, different CAD programs don't typically agree what axis is the Z axis when exporting. Engineers/designers don't typically model in dumb orientations; when importing, Fusion just guesses which axes are the XYZ axes and sometimes guesses wrong based on what program exported the file.

Lars Christensen I have been tinkering with 360 for about 2 years now making things on my 3D printer. This year I took a programming job at my work and I’m now programming CMM machines using PC DMIS. I’m not for sure if your familiar with them. It’s just Metrology stuff and I have had to learn a tremendous amount of stuff about GD&T. I have tried and tried to learn about the cam side of autodesk and have finally started learning thanks to you! I really appreciate your videos and hope to one day be as proficient as you lol. I’d love to take a job within engineering and you have really set me on that path. Thank you very much sir.
