FLAVA OF THE YEAR 2023 NOVEMBER 17 & 18 LOS ANGELES, CA 1VS 1 POPPING FINALS SLIM BOOGIE VS JIN JUDGES BOOGALOO SAM NO BONE TYRONE BIONIC MAN DJ ROXSWIFT HOST DEVIOUS THE GR818ERS
Slim was just on another level. Slim's style is so unpredictable and fresh on a (relatively) formulaic scene. His animations, musicality, and transitions are crazy. I love that he really doesn't reset or use a bunch of move sets.
I 100 agree. Jin’s roll transitions blew my mind. First I’ve seen him. Haven’t watched poppin I a LONG time. Always loved slim’s approach to music and dance.
Slim's expression always inspires all the dancers. Nor does he do anything meaningless or unnecessary to fascinate the judges. It just becomes one with music.
@@pappabuN He's not wrong though lol. I mean Slim as a dancer makes it look easy but I assure you your average middle aged dude out there is no spring chicken.
@@pappabuN for a dancer 39rs is to (old) to win a battle , you can see acky nelson guchoon kei they all have (tired face) at this age vitality is really different from young people
For me, legwork was the easiest to get good at. I struggle with creativity and just staying coherent and connected to the music without resetting. So, I really admire Slim's dance. If you look closely, he is doing some crazy music play and hitting grooves in a very complicated way which is very original instead of just the obvious beat kill grooves that everyone in Asia nowadays seems to follow, India is also on my watch list. They have crazy originality with popping. When you see two people dance, it's two different individual styles. UK and USA dancers already has this characteristic but it's nice to see a country in Asia have this characteristic too. Original like how Inoc waves, or slim's creative use of his long arms, etc. There are also some crazy original dancers in Japan too like Hiroki, Fatsnake.
Jin killed the last round. Slim def did the 1st and 2nd but Hin owned that last round. Love the he bboy followed up by leg work and ground work nice flow
@@conco1994 When I talk about Speed version I'm talking about the version of the track if you search for the track like "Westcide - Yayo" you will find it
That 1st track playing isn't the better popping music - it was better for Vogueing/Whacking. The music needs to HIT so the Boogalooers can HIT - Music like The Dogg Pound is better for this type of dancing. The other tracks were better.
I'm about to watch Jin get smoked. Still on stupid youtube commercial. Ok closer than I thought it would be. Ok 2nd song is in favor of slim, this gonna be rough. Jin actually did pretty well. ok third song is like slim birthday song. Oh ya, Jin still trying really hard gotta give teh guy credit hes extremely fast. Anyone notice Slim insane Tutting? GG Slim
@@boogiejacky That track is already on madd3e Bro's Bandcamp but only for those who pay the exclusive Bandcamp subscription, I understand that the ep of that track you are asking me about is that one and it comes out in December
Didnt get musicality of Slim. Sometimes he misses simple boom baps and claps. Kinda silly moves without any music matching/ He has hip hop parasite moves. And of course his clothing. cant he wear shirt or kinda popping stf?
at least you said you don't understand it...that's the correct thing to say. But one day you will understand it maybe in 10 years or so depending how long you been popping for. Also hip hop dancers try to be like slim, not the other way around
@@popping_sayaku have 6 years. He at least have 15. Go do some research, research animation, research music, research even how Jazzy J dances for example, from electric boog.. research how Krumpers approach to music. A lot of things can add to your knowledge and creativity without going out of popping.

Slims creativity has always been arguably the best in all of popping but Jins boogaloo here was just absolutely insane and needs more recognition imo

At this point mt and jin should consider to be a partner and compete in juste debout , they are literally the best popper in new gen
juste debout doesn't exist anymore...after covid bruce announced it's finished forever there will be no more juste debout
@@GrowingDownUnder oh yeah i thought it still exist

I don't understand how Slim Boogie manages to surpass the first challenger, let alone win a competition. It's incredible.

He's not trying to hit every simple boom bap and clap, because it's boring and predictable. He has developed 1000 levels beyond that.
