[The Last of Us/Bioshock Infinite] Mashup - All Gone (Elizabeth)

Maybe not the mashup you were expecting, but I was replaying The Last of Us Remastered and All Gone (No Escape) was stuck in my head. I also remembered there was another emotionally tugging video game song with a bunch of strings. Several days later, and voila.

How do you even do these? Do you just mash the songs together and edit them or do you also add some instruments and things? How complicated it this is basically what im asking lol

Glad you asked! For the earlier mashups it was mostly taking stems from Apex and mixing them with other tracks, so there was some EQing involved in certain parts of the songs. For this one, I actually wrote a little MIDI violin melody when it transitions at 02:01. Matching BPMs is also another tricky part, and because "Elizabeth" actually doesn't have a steady tempo, I had to slice it and dice it by each section.
TL;DR It's not recreating a whole song, but it's a bit more than putting two audio clips together :')
