      Why should you know. Religious belief should be personal!

    • @aacmove
      @aacmove Před 2 lety

      @Thornboy🥀 That is the point. Some people have the good manners to keep things to themselves. Others don't. People these days expect to know everything about everyone. No mystery, all out in the open. It is refreshing to know that "some" people don't want that. There are lots of things about many people I don't want to know. The fact that she is religious makes no difference to me, as I am only interested in her as an actor.

    • @aacmove
      @aacmove Před 2 lety

      @Thornboy🥀 That was not what I was responding to. My comment was in response to "I had no idea she was a devout Catholic". Maybe read from the beginning!

    • @aacmove
      @aacmove Před 2 lety

      @Thornboy🥀 From my point of view some things are personal. Like religious adherence. I don't tell anybody what they should believe in and I don't expect them to declare it to me. The original comment made it sound as though people should announce it, as a matter for course. In fact this interview was conducted when Faye Dunaway was in her late 70s. Which brings me to my point. I don't see any reason why this is one of the "things" we should know about her. Which I respect her for. Furthermore, there is a context to why she spoke about it.

    • @DeepScreenAnalysis
      @DeepScreenAnalysis Před 7 lety +3

      It's a shame Faye disowns Mommie Dearest because fans of that movie idolise her in a way rarely seen. They are one of the most rabid fans of any movie I have ever encountered, they quote it, they know it inside and out, Faye is a goddess to them. No other role she has played has captured the imagination of so many people across the world.... Bonnie and Clyde made Faye an icon, but Mommie Dearest did something more... it fused her iconography with Joan Crawford's and became something that refuses to diminish with the passage of time.

    • @BoBo-ti6jh
      @BoBo-ti6jh Před 7 lety +1

      Dunaway does not disown it. She will discuss it when discussed intelligently and not turned into something to be mocked by a mindless audience. The subject matter of an abused child is serious and what may have taken place between Crawford and the little girl should not be ridiculed.

    • @DeepScreenAnalysis
      @DeepScreenAnalysis Před 7 lety +4

      Actually, Faye has disowned the movie. Why do you think it is not included in this video in the summation of her movies? Because she always states that the movie must not be mentioned if she is going to be interviewed.

    • @BoBo-ti6jh
      @BoBo-ti6jh Před 7 lety +1

      Why don't you ask the producers of the Today show why they didn't include Mommie Dearest and almost all her other movies in the summation of her films? The answer is pretty simple, no time. Strange that you assume these things about Dunaway. Again, she has not disowned Mommie Dearest and talks about it and is proud of her work in it. She has wriiten a book about the film and her work in it which will be published soon.

  • @Yobbie72
    @Yobbie72 Před 6 lety +1

    Her career basically peaked in 1976, and Faye has the reputation of being impossible to work with. But she seems nice here and in the Lester Holt interview, so I'm a bit confused. I'm also confused as to how a "devout Catholic" can be twice married and twice divorced, but I guess her priest has worked that out with her!

    • @ronijoseph7245
      @ronijoseph7245 Před 6 lety +3

      Being a devout Catholic has NOTHING to do with divorce. It has EVERYTHING to do with faith. BTW, Dunaway was never married in the Catholic Church to either Wolf or O'Neill.

    • @Yobbie72
      @Yobbie72 Před 6 lety

      doesn't matter. In the eyes of the church, a marriage is a marriage, regardless of where it happened.

    • @ronijoseph7245
      @ronijoseph7245 Před 6 lety

      Does matter. If you were married IN the church, and then divorced, you aren't allowed to receive Holy Eucharist [a large portion of Catholic priest no longer believe in disallowing the Eucharist to divorcees, and would like to see the "rule" changed] unless and until you get an annulment through the Holy See. If you were married in the public rite [Justice of the peace, a different religion....] it's not recognized, and an annulment would make no difference.
      None of this changes being a "devout Catholic". Catholicism is a belief, and the strength of your belief is the only factor that determines your devotion.

    • @Yobbie72
      @Yobbie72 Před 6 lety

      As I said, it's changed. The church recognizes marriages outside the church as the sacrament is not conferred by the priest, but by the two people getting married. She would need the marriages annulled, or she would have to live in a chaste state.
