- Welcome back to Millennia - the later ages! Check out Millennia here: millennia.paradoxinteractive.... In this video, as the embargo has lifted, I'm able to share with you Millennia gameplay up to age 6! The game really takes into its own as the ages progress, and the new ages (4-6) start to do a good job at demonstrating that.

This game is just what 2009 has been waiting for.
😂😂😂😂
Haha I came to say something similar! It looks like Civ 5.
Yeah 😂 but at least it's still baby version
Ask yourself if you've ever given a shit about graphics in 4x games or if you're just looking for excuses to hate.
@@ChrissieBear good graphics matter.
I liked the battle view when playing the demo, it helps to see which units in a stack are doing well in battle since multiple units can stack in a hex.
I think that’s the big upside to them. The combat modifiers can be big (I’ve seen a 4x damage one, and lots around 2.5x) and it isn’t always obvious which units are doing the heavy lifting until you see the viewer.
Hard to tell from the video but have there been any graphical improvements? The demo have the impression that they were stuck on low.
I think so, but like you say they’re somewhat subtle. It feels a little brighter, and the vegetation looks smoother to me.
@@Cruor34 Because I have the right to.
Will you have an unedited play through when the game comes out?
Not being able to pick an alternate age because you are already in one seems like such a miss.
Generally a big fan of the game, but I totally agree.
I know this game is new but I was wondering when there would be more humankind content (I ran out of vods)
Inventor look like vampire. 36:35
Is there an option for razing captured cities? I like the idea of playing a one city challenge campaign.
Only for free cities. Player cities become vassals automatically, unfortunately. One of only a few gripes I have with the game. Sometimes I just want a city out of the way so my cities borders can expand.
A Paradox game in early access? 🤔
Hi, great videi. The grater doubt on this game for me, is the balancing, because there is a lot of stuff in play. I swear you can make tutorial on the most important aspect of the game, and a full gameplay when it is released 😊
The game is highly unbalanced. It is not really intentioned to be balanced in the beginning. Paradox games are often unbalanced in the beginning. After certain meta strategies have evolved the deliberately balance the meta game and make many non meta but fun builds. Even if paradox is just the publisher it went that way by almost every of their games. Which is quite a clever strategy since the player base is always more clever than the developers.
24:26 did I hear a drunken Lewis ginly Yogscast stream reference?
how many turn you can play in this game, and what is the last age,can you continiu afte you winning the game like civ6 ?; the game is great. i hear 300 turn, thats very short ,civ6 you have 500.
Since no one else is bringing this up, I guess I will. I think that empire creation options (or lack thereof) makes the game seem incredibly lackluster. What’s the point of having different starting cultures if your choices just amount to choosing a banner and a minor starting bonus and any combination is possible (not to mention that there are a few starting bonuses that are clearly superior to all the others)?
I don't feel like any of the starting bonuses are that much greater than the others. It all depends on what you like, really.
The game looks more and more interesting with every passing age, can't wait to lay my hands on it!
In the meanwhile, could you shed some light on the import-export mechanics, maybe in a separate video tutorial? There was not enough time in the demo to really experience that.
Thanks for making a video on this game! A friend of mine recommended it to me. Due to some health problems. Most modern games just are not playable for me. When I tried the demo I was pleasantly surprised!
thanks for reminding that this is a paradox title. will be more careful
It looks neither good nor bad. Plenty of innovative 4X games out of there adding their own elements. But this one so far does not seem to offer anything flavorwise that makes me crave play it.
I loved Paradox games but was wary of getting this game for one reason. Their DLC policy has gotten a lot out of hand and is costing as much as an AAA game recently. So after 24-odd years I am giving anything from Paradox a hard pass.
*Stares in total war* "First time?"
I can tolerate the graphics without any issue; I have no problem with that at all. (I play Songs of Conquest quite frequently, which is 2.5D pixelated.) However, when it comes to the combat gameplay-the way they hit and move-it feels like it's straight out of the HEROES MIGHT & MAGIC 3 era. I just can't stand it.
PDX? No thank-you. How many dozens of $15 DLC will be needed before this is a complete game?
I tried, but I can't stand the UI and the design. The graphics seems a little better the demo, but my God how dated the overall visual is, it looks like at least from a decade ago. I hope the gameplay pays off.
Look. It's a new 4X, with loads of great new ideas, to shake up the civ formula; without the nonsense of modern titles like CivVI and Humankind. I am probably going to get it regardles ... However it is a big warning sign for me that the IA seems such a push over. Is this in very easy? That'd be like the only excuse for having an empty map after so many turns.
Oh boy it’s literally just Civ. Can’t wait for paradox to lock 90% of the game behind paid DLC that costs almost as much as the game itself.
It is similar but the different ages, especially the crisis ones can cause history to go into absurd what if situations (what if SETI caused an alien invasion, etc.) if you play your cards right. Should play quite differently between playthroughs.
Lol, you did not watch the video did you?
Well the battle animations are better than stellaris at least
